Imam Ahmad (12540) and Ibn Maajah (5870) narrated that Anas said: The Abyssinians gave a display with their weapons in front of the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and danced, saying [in their own language]: “Muhammad is a righteous slave (of Allah).” The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “What are they saying?” They said: They are saying: Muhammad is a righteous slave (of Allah).
Sayyiduna Ali, Allah be well-pleased with him, said:
"I visited the Prophet, Allah bless and greet him, with Jaʿfar (ibn Abi Talib) and Zayd (ibn Haritha). The Prophet, Allah bless and greet him, said to Zayd: "You are my freedman" (anta mawlay), whereupon Zayd began to hop on one leg around the Prophet (hajala). The Prophet, Allah bless and greet him, then said to Jaʿfar: "You resemble me in my creation and my manners" (ashbahta khalqi wa- khuluqi), whereupon Jaʿfar began to hop behind Zayd. The Prophet, Allah bless and greet him, then said to me: "You are part of me and I am part of you" (anta minni wa-ana mink) whereupon I began to hop behind Jaʿfar."

"The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Allah refuses to accept the good deeds of one who follows innovation until he gives up that innovation.'" Sunan Ibn Majah 50
Except this isn’t a sinful innovation, rather a very good thing

Remembering Allah ﷻ in the Mornings and Afternoons
Allah ﷻ ordains that He be remembered more often in the mornings and the afternoons. Just as He ordered that He be worshipped during these two times when He said,
وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ الْغُرُوبِ
(And glorify the praises of your Lord, before the rising of the sun and before (its) setting.) 50:39 Before the night of Isra', when the five daily prayers were ordained, this Ayah was revealed in Makkah ordering that Allah be worshipped at these times, Allah ﷻ said next,
تَضَرُّعًا وَخِيفَةً
(humbly and with fear) meaning, remember your Lord in secret, not loudly, with eagerness and fear. This is why Allah ﷻ said next,
وَدُونَ الْجَهْرِ مِنَ الْقَوْلِ
(and without loudness in words). Therefore, it is recommended that remembering Allah ﷻ in Dhikr is not performed in a loud voice. When the Companions asked the Messenger of Allah ﷻ, "Is our Lord close, so that we call Him in secret, or far, so that we raise our voices" Allah ﷻ sent down the verse,
وَإِذَا سَأَلَكَ عِبَادِي عَنِّي فَإِنِّي قَرِيبٌ أُجِيبُ دَعْوَةَ الدَّاعِ إِذَا دَعَانِ
(And when My servants ask you concerning Me, then (answer them), I am indeed near (to them by My knowledge). I respond to the invocations of the supplicant when he calls on Me (without any mediator or intercessor).) 2:186 In the Two Sahihs, it is recorded that Abu Musa Al-Ash`ari said, "The people raised their voices with Du`a' (invoking Allah ﷻ) while travelling. The Prophet said to them,
«يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ ارْبَعُوا عَلَى أَنْفُسِكُمْ، فَإِنَّكُمْ لَا تَدْعُونَ أَصَمَّ وَلَا غَائِبًا إِنَّ الَّذِي تَدْعُونَهُ سَمِيعٌ قَرِيبٌ أَقْرَبُ إِلَى أَحَدِكُمْ مِنْ عُنُقِ رَاحِلِته»
(O people! Take it easy on yourselves, for He Whom you are calling is not deaf or absent. Verily, He Whom you are calling is the All-Hearer, close (by His knowledge), closer to one of you than the neck of his animal.)" These texts encourage the servants to invoke Allah ﷻ in Dhikr often, especially in the mornings and afternoons, so that they are not among those who neglect remembering Him. This is why Allah ﷻ praised the angels who praise Him night and day without tiring,
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ عِندَ رَبِّكَ لاَ يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِهِ
(Surely, those who are with your Lord (i.e., angels) are never too proud to perform acts of worship to Him ﷻ) Allah ﷻ reminded the servants of this fact so that they imitate the angels in their tireless worship and obedience of Allah ﷻ . Prostration, here, upon the mention that the angels prostrate to Allah ﷻ is legitimate. A Hadith reads;
«أَلَا تَصُفُّونَ كَمَا تَصُفُّ الْمَلَائِكَةُ عِنْدَ رَبِّهَا يُتِمُّونَ الصُّفُوفَ الْأُوَلَ فَالْأُوَلَ وَيَتَرَاصُّونَ فِي الصَّف»
(Why not you stand in line (for the prayer) like the angels stand in line before their Lord They continue the first then the next lines and they stand close to each other in line. ) This is the first place in the Qur'an where it has been legitimized -- according to the agreement of the scholars -- for the readers of the Qur'an, and those listening to its recitation, to perform prostration.

The scholars of the Standing Committee were asked about the Islamic ruling on those who remember Allah whilst swaying right and left in a trance, reciting in unison and out loud.

Imam al-‘Izz ibn ‘Abd as-Salaam, the great Shaafa‘i faqeeh and scholar of usool (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
With regard to dancing and clapping, it is frivolity and silliness like that of females; no one does such things except one who is a show-off or a liar. How could anyone regard it as justifiable to dance to the rhythm of the music and become oblivious when the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said, “The best generations are my generation, then those who come after them, then those who come after them,” and no one among those exemplary generations did such things? It cannot be imagined that one who fears Allah and understands anything of what it means to venerate Him would dance or clap. Clapping and dancing only come from one who is foolish and ignorant; they do not come from anyone who is wise and virtuous.

1 shiekh bin bazz r.a VS 1000's in the past. What are you trying to say? the scholar committee is for that same era. What about the long disscussions on this topic by HiGH Level Scholars in the past? Are you going to reject all of the scholars in the past and accept only a few of today's era.

Following statements are enough for them to realize that they are following an intellectual paradox and a never ending loop.
1. if bidah is EVERYTHING THAT PROPHET DID NOT DO then wearing pants become bidah and so does eating different kids of foods and etc.. never ends
2. If bidah is to be taken in a wrong connotation all the time then while the Quran was being compiled by Umar R.A (Because it wasnt compiled in a book in the time of the prophet SAW), he called it BIDAH AL HASANAH. I think they DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT THAT IS! Sigh!
3. If bidah is doing what the prophet did not do then whatever the prophet did, we cant really replicate it exactly but rather we follow it in an approximate fashion.
So what is bidah?
ANYTHING! THAT DOES NOT HAVE ANY CONNECTION TO HADITH OR QURAN. WHEN THERE IS JUST NOTHING TAT EVEN RESEMBLES ANYTHING IN SUNNAH OR QURAN THEN IT IS BIDAH. BUT IF THERE IS A RULING THEN COMES THE CONCET OF "opinion" of scholars aND CALLING THAT BIDAH IS AGAINST THE RULES OF FIQH. THEREFORE THERE HAVE BEEN THOSANDS OF DISSCUSSIONS ON THIS TOPIC OF ZIKR AND MANY HAVE APPROVED IT IN THE PAST (WITH A CORRELATION TO SUNNAH AND QURAN THEREFORE IT CANT BE BIDAH) AND HAVE PRACTICED IT AS WELL.

@@marlobarksdale2424First of all, this isn't a belief, it's an action. It falls within the field of Fiqh and not 'Aqidah. Secondly, this dhikr gathering can be justified through the concept of Bid'ah Hasanah. Countless 'ulema defended the idea that bid'ah is divided between blameworthy innovations and praiseworthy innovations; among them are Imams al-Shafi'i, al-Bayhaqi, al-Ghazali, al-Izz Ibn Abd al-Salam, al-Nawawi, Ibn Daqiq al-'Idd, Ibn Hajar al-Haythami, Ibn Hajar al-'Asqalani. I've mostly named you scholars from the Shafi'i madhab since it is the official position of the maddhab to divide bid'ah into not just two but 5 categories. You'll also find the same within the other three marveolous madhahib. Imam Suyuti has a fatwa defending the hadrah. If you reject the hadrah then fine, just don't go around policing your fellow Muslims. Jazakallah Khair.

Jabir b. Abdullah said:

He would also say: "The Last Hour and I have been sent like these two." And he would join his forefinger and middle finger; and would further say: "The best of the speech is embodied in the Book of Allah, and the best of the guidance is the guidance given by Muhammad. And the most evil affairs are their innovations; and every innovation is error." He would further say:, I am more dear to a Muslim even than his self; and he who left behind property that is for his family; and he who dies under debt or leaves children (in helplessness), the responsibility (of paying his debt and bringing up his children) lies on me." (Sahih Muslim 867a)

There is a hadith when the some Sahana did similar movements in happiness when the prophet s.a.w praised them.
Ali said: I visited the Prophet with Ja`far (ibn Abi Talib and Zayd (ibn Haritha). The Prophet said to Zayd: "You are my freedman" (anta mawlay), whereupon Zayd began to hop on one leg around the prophet (hajala). The Prophet then said to Ja`far: "You resemble me in my creation and my manners" (anta ashbahta khalqi wa khuluqi), whereupon Ja`far began to hop behind Zayd.
The Prophet then said to me: "You pertain to me and I pertain to you" (anta minni wa ana minka) whereupon I began to hop behind Ja`far.

Fear None But ONE the Shaykh is a direct descendent of the Prophet(saws). They are also one of the most knowledgeable in the ummah today. So their understanding of biddah is way better than yours.

It is related in an athar in al-Daarimi [210] on the authority of ‘Amr ibn Salamah who said:
We were sitting at the door of ‘Abd-Allah ibn Mas’ood before Fajr prayer, so that if he came out, we could walk with him to the Masjid,, then Abu Moosa al-Ash’ari came to us and said: Has Abu ‘Abd al-Rahmaan come out to you yet? We said: No. So he sat with us until he came out, and when he came out we all stood up. Abu Moosa said to him: O Abu ‘Abd al-Rahmaan, just now I saw something in the mosque that I have never seen before, but I do not think it was anything but good. He said: What was it? He said: If you live, you will see it. He said: In the mosque I saw some people sitting in circles waiting for the prayer. In every circle there was a man, and in their hands they had pebbles. He would say: Say Allahu akbar (Allah is Most Great) one hundred times, and they would say Allahu akbar one hundred times. He would say: Say Laa ilaaha ill-Allah (there is no god but Allah) one hundred times, and they would say Laa ilaaha ill-Allah one hundred times. He would say: Say Subhaan-Allah (Glory be to Allah) one hundred times, and they would say Subhaan-Allah one hundred times. He said: What did you say to them? He said: I did not say anything to them; I was waiting to see what you think and I waited for your command. He said: Why did you not tell them to count their bad deeds and guarantee to them that their good deeds would not be wasted? Then he moved on and we moved on with him until he came to one of those circles, and he stood over them and said: What is this that I see you doing? They said: O Abu ‘Abd al-Rahmaan, these are stones with which we count the takbeers (‘Allahu akbar’), tahleel (‘Laa ilaaha illa-Allah’) and tasbeeh (‘Subhaan-Allah’). He said: Count your bad deeds, for I guarantee to you that none of your good deeds will be lost. Woe to you, O ummah of Muhammad! How quickly you have become doomed! His companions are still alive and his cloak has not worn out, and his vessel is not yet broken. By the One in Whose hand is my soul, you are either following a way that is more guided than the way of Muhammad or you are opening the door to misguidance. They said: By Allah, O Abu ‘Abd al-Rahmaan, we intended nothing but good. He said: How many of those who intended good did not achieve it? The Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) told us that some people would recite the Qur’an and it would not go any further than their collarbones. By Allah, I do not know, perhaps most of them are from among you. Then he turned away from them and ‘Amr ibn Salamah said: We saw most of the people of those circles fighting alongside the Khawaarij against us in the battle of Nahrawaan.[1]
The above report clearly shows without a doubt that the companions of the Prophet (sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) used to not tolerate any type of unknown practice related to the shar’iah.

When they dance with whoever-I agree. That is not from the Sunnah either. There are people in Saudi who don’t follow the Sunnah too. No place on earth is exempt from that. I’ve never seen Muslims dancing with Jews for religious purposes, and bid’ah is innovations introduced into RELIGIOUS issues, but if you have seen Saudis dancing with Jews and Americans for worship purposes than I 100% agree with you that it would be massive bid’ah.

Darth Vader The issue is doing practices that none of the Sahaba or Rasulallah(sws) did. Why invent or innovate in a religion that is complete? If we accept deviant practices they’ll grow into practices that will take one out of the fold of Islam. The severity of punishments upon the innovators are clear and harsh. We are not better than the sahaba(ra) who loved the Prophet(sws) more than us and they never did this end of story
