Thank you Jay for the fantastic videos! 👌 The White Steam car is one of my all time favorite vehicles. One time there was a White Steam car, I think it was a maroon, red, and gold color. Don't know if it was a 40 horse or not, but it was the coolest thing I've ever seen. Thanks for the reminder of a great childhood memory.👌🤙
Had the pleasure and privilege of riding in a 1910 White , lead car , for the 1984 Brighton Beech run in New York . It was a "race " that began in Bay Ridge Brooklyn and proceeded down Ocean Parkway over the Brooklyn Bridge to Herald Square and back to finish in Brighton Beech !
I'm so glad Jay preserved this technology. When the grid goes down we'll all be begging for a ride on a steam car or engine because it will be the only thing that runs.
This was an absolute joy to watch. That vehicle probably looks better now than when it left the factory. It is so good that you are preserving history.
That was a cool video. Side note, I can still remember seeing some of the White/Freightliners still on the road when I first started in Trucking in the early 90s. I never knew the company dated all the way back to the early 1900s with steam cars.
White Trucks got bought by GMC and Volvo in the late 90s, then Volvo bought GMC's share, and they are now branded Volvo. Freightliner is now part of Daimler (Mercedes).
@@geepeerces yeah I do remember the white GMC and white Volvos in the early 90's, especially the smaller class 6 and 7 trucks but I mostly remember the White Freightliner badges on the Class 8 trucks from the late 70's. And yeah I owned and financed a Freightliner in the early 2000s and my payments went to Chrysler Daimler Benz. And I think the following year a lot of them went to that 11.9L Mercedes-Benz engine.
It's just so awesome and I enjoyed this video immensely. Can you imagine the guys engineering this thing? "This baby is going to be the absolute cutting edge and the precursor of all advanced automobiles to come. Just some water, gasoline and a little work heating her up, and it's endless power and enjoyment! You'll still want to drive it in the winter with an open top, because it leaves the snow behind! Does it have Bluetooth? If we can get someone to make it with Bluetooth I think there's a market. Lol.
Nice salute from the engineer at the start! Talk about old and new, that train was powered by an almost brand new Siemens Charger diesel unit, made in California and powered by a V16 Cummins engine.
I worked on water pump shaft for Black Bess. My friends 1905 White model E steamer. I also made punch and die set to stamp out boiler spacers for the White boilers. Mike used die set to stamp out spacers for a boiler he made for Mr. Leno. I am building 2 cylinder Empire steam engine from a single cylinder. Cool video.
As always, a great video Jay. This White is a real jewel, the epitome of 'steam punk'. Had no idea this is how the White truck line began. Imagine a modern steam turbine truck that uses propane as fuel. A Big Boy on wheels. Have you ever thought of doing videos that feature trucks? 🤔

This is so neat. Respect to the builders of the past.
Thank you Jay for the fantastic videos! 👌
The White Steam car is one of my all time favorite vehicles. I remember going to the county fair as a kid some 50 plus years ago and have always been fascinated with the steam engines.
Jay jokes about the dangers of " being burned " 6:40 ... Get well Jay . 🙏
Absolutely amazing. This is the coolest thing I've seen in a while! You had to be a smart person to operate this car.

Jay Leno is such a comfortable speaker. Really relaxed. Gives the right amount of information and the camera shots are great too.
he is very agile for a 70yr old, i bet he can look 35 again with Keto and Intermittent fasting regime
@@fidelcatsro6948 idk about all that but he does have a great speaking voice
I'm so glad Jay preserved this technology. When the grid goes down we'll all be begging for a ride on a steam car or engine because it will be the only thing that runs.
This was an absolute joy to watch. That vehicle probably looks better now than when it left the factory. It is so good that you are preserving history.
Love how they showed the effort to fix a video. I love you jay!
The black & brass combination is really very nice! Those headlights are a masterpiece in themselves.
one of the first episodes I've watched! Shows the amazing depth of knowledge he has with vehicles.
God Bless you Jay, Happy New Year and thank you for sharing such great car history with all of us
If this car was built today, all of the efforts Jay put into to start it would be handled electronically. The gas gauge would be on the dash too.😃
It's just so awesome and I enjoyed this video immensely.
Lol.
I loved the smile on Jay’s face when the train blew his horn.
Nice salute from the engineer at the start! Talk about old and new, that train was powered by an almost brand new Siemens Charger diesel unit, made in California and powered by a V16 Cummins engine.
Very interested Thanks you Jay I always wanted to know how a steam car worked. The brass and the wood worked absolutely beautiful
Cool video.
This is absolutely amazing! One of my most favorite videos of his!
It's amazing all the knowledge Jay has and his ability to work all of it. I've thanked him before for giving all the info to history.
I love J dude. He really puts me in a good mood
Wow, how cool is that?!?! Love how well Jay knows all his cars.
That was awesome. Thanks for sharing it and showing us how to start it.
This is soooo fascinating, I am so blessed to have seen this episode. I am so grateful. It makes me appreciate mechanics, engines and American History in automobiles
I had to laugh as I found my self listening carefully , Just in case I ever get one of these beautys, LO, and lets face it George is the main man in Jay's garage, Thank you Jay , for all the great vids.
I already watched this a couple days ago with the wrong audio sync. But happy to watch again
It’s amazing, also Jay is keeping the lineage of cars. Once EV is more common then all previous generations of cars will unfortunately step aside mainstream
