I had never really played comp before and whenever I did I couldn’t rank up past high plat low diamond. In season 8 I got to GM on two accounts and then I stopped trying lol. The pain man

I don't like that competitive is solely on winning, im legit in silver because I have teams that throw, I believe im a gold or even plat, the rankings should be based off of how you play as a player, how you play w your teammates, how you do in your role etc, it shouldn't b used jus off of wins imo

this proves how dumb the ranking system is now matter how many times they "fix" it. new accounts shouldnt be played that high, imagine a new player in ur masters game and then u lose cause of them its ANNOYING

Everything is easy when the game and the selection system are looking for normal teammates for you. Then, of course, you can climb without problems. But as soon as the system decides that you definitely need to throw any garbage into your team, then the difficulties begin.
In fact, not so much depends on the skill in the game, as on how balanced the game's teams are. It's easy to pull at the expense of skill when the teams are plus or minus equal. But as soon as your team starts playing many times worse than the enemy, then you can't win on one skill here.
Even this video shows that the girl is just being dragged by the system. Not only does Tim constantly drag her, but the points system gives her almost a full rank after each game. And it's clear from the game that she's not doing anything special at all. A pretty average game for diamond, nothing more. At the same time, she is given much more for games with the expected result than for pockets. And after 2 consecutive pockets for a win, she is still given a modifier for a winstrike. Well, it's even funny. That is, the system stupidly drags the girl. Moreover, according to the stats of loose games, it is immediately clear that as soon as she began to pick up worse teammates than before, that's it. And nothing prevents the system from giving such teammates regularly.
It would be better if the girl took care of herself, lost weight, went to the gym and touched the grass outside

Smurf accounts should get banned for life. I played 4 games throughout a day, and won, then lost to team that had a smurf doomfist, and lost all that progress.
Maybe it has something to do with playing all day everyday for the last 8 years

the lowest amount of % i got this season was 5 after the sweatiest match i had and i performed so well (sup main) the highest lose streak i had was 18 games and the highest winsteak 3. i dropped 7 ranks on my main acc after releace of season 9, can somebody delete this game off my pc😭

The rank system is SO confusing cuz I remember when I was having issues ranking up, I 5 stacked with randoms who were all a lower rank than me, and started gaining %70+ every win. But on my own I get TWENTY 😭😭😭😭I'll never understand

Hello, I used to be Diamond in overwatch 1, I was not playing a lot. Recently I got a new PC and that motivated me to tryhard Overwatch 2. Are the new rank equivalent of the old ones ? (Does the new gold for example worth as much as before ?)
So the way to get champion is to already have an account in top 100~ and just use its MMR?

Feels like there are some algorithms taking into account your past games to determine more accurately which players to fight against in Comp the more you play. It makes sense for new players making new accounts, since they don't have any OW competitive experience, and it becomes more "fair" for long-term players (you will supposedly always fight players that are really close to your level, and it's up to you to up your game to overcome normality), but it does not translate well for long-term players making new accounts since it could be not designed for that.
Either that, or it's also polluted with algorithms and underhanded techniques to give the illusion of obstacle, prolonging frustration and inciting players to keep playing in the hopes of ranking up ASAP, which will never be possible, which in turn increases your likelihood of wanting to buy skins and stuff and spend more money.
grandmaster or champion rank as a healer is honestly like high plat low diamond dps.. its absurdly easy to rank up as a healer
hitting champion means u have to go through gold, and godforbid anyone ever leaves that rank. idk how they do it but ow loves to cram everybody into one rank every single match is so one sided u cant even do anything about it. a good tank or more than one good healer is so rare that its not even worth looking for
been stuck in silver gold for past 4 seasons. I kid you not i have triple the amount of stats or kills as my teamates and YES IM A TEAM PLAY but im being brought down by my teammates who are kill hungrty and think they can 1v5 the entire team :(

if "good" players have more then one account no wonder why new players can't get anywhere between multi accounts and cheaters new players struggle.
So tldr OW matchmaking is busted and can be abused. One account hard stuck, one account freelo on wins. same player.

I was fighting my life trying to stay in plat 5 cuz I got with a lot of leavers. i was 0% from Gold 1 and it gave me 1%. Trust me I was about to get crazy
those bonuses are no joke. I was in masters 4 in like season 3 then just did my first placements in season 11 and went from the first game saying gold 3 to it ultimately putting me in diamond 5 by the end now a few more games later im in diamond 1 with like a 60% winrate on all the supports lol
