**Because those have asked, I have removed all music in this video due to various reasons, primarily because it routinely resulted in copyright issues. And for those who have an extreme phobia of drains, lights, etc, the music only increased their anxiety.**
I would like to give a special tribute to a 7-year-old boy named Calder Sloan, "Mr. Awesome," who was tragically electrocuted and killed in his family's pool from a faulty pool light in 2014. (Specifically, the light that killed him was a Pentair SAm light; AKA Spectrum Amerlite, which can be seen from 0:49 to 1:07 in the video). This video also gives tribute to lives lost from pool components.
This video was made by Windows Movie Maker.
All pictures from 0:07 to 8:46 do not belong to me and belong to their rightful owner(s).
ONE FINAL, IMPORTANT NOTE: if you ever visit any PUBLIC pool or spa in the United States of America (NOT private, such as one found in someone's backyard), and if you think the drain cover(s) used is not compliant, say something! According to The Virginia Graham Baker Pool & Spa Safety Act, by law, ALL commercial/public pools and spas after December 19, 2008:
"...requires that all operating public pools and spas must have drain covers that meet the ANSI/ASME A112.19.8-2007 standard on every drain/grate. In addition, if the pool has a single main drain (other than an unblockable drain), the operator must either disable the drain or install a second anti-entrapment device or system."
In summary, if these requirements are NOT being met, THE POOL OWNER(S) IS BREAKING THE LAW. The pool must be shut down until all issues are corrected to satisfy the VGB Pool & Spa Safety Act requirements. Believe it or not, despite this law being effective for more than 11 years, there are some public pools/spas that are still utilizing "illegal" drains. I've seen it myself.
Please comment, rate, and subscribe! Also, leave a like! It took me almost 2 months working on and off of this project! (I was constantly searching/gathering hundreds of pictures, finding the right music to fit the theme, going to pools and taking pictures myself, etc.) Thank you for watching! :-) STAY SAFE!
