For me, personally, I really liked LIB Sweden - perhaps better than all of the other LIB shows.

I think it’s hard because it’s a different culture plus the translation sometimes sucked, the reunion I had to read subtitles and I know I lost a lot in translation

I think it's extremely dangerous for a single mom to go on LIB. This isn't coming from a place of judgment on her. It's just that it's very common for children to be abused by a step-dad/mom's BF... and LIB doesn't have the best track record for screening the male contestants.
Yes and the fact she waited until she connected with someone to tell them she had a daughter, I think was very smart. At least it the odds of a weirdo would go down knowing someone wouldn’t pursue her for her daughter.

Sorry I disagree about the mom. Most people are very protective of their children regardless of their age. We’ve seen some serious wing nuts on this show and to bring that home to your kid is a big risk. It’s not just your ‘own’ life anymore when you’re a parent. You are protector of your kid. So whether you bring this guy home and your kid is confused or you keep the kid out of it for 6-8 weeks while filming, neither is a great parenting decision.
I must be the only person in the world who doesn’t need “representation” in any type of media. I’m Latina and I actually cringed when I saw Lydia because she was a walking stereotype with her loud and over the top personality. I just don’t need to see people that look like me on tv to validate my existence. I’m an individual and no one can ever represent me.

Totally agree, I'm Latina and I don't like to see loud Latinas in TV, producers usually bring the typical stereotype like sofía vergara:, loud, dumb, drama makers, uneducated, no manners, etc. I feel so embarrassed to be represented by women like that. I'm not even close or feel identified as any of those Latinas. I didnt like Lydia or Nancy 😢😬. We need professionals corporate Latinas who are well traveled, have intelect, and culture ❤
Omni felt the exact same way !! I wish we could be represented but not using a typical stereotype where we are laud and cannot control our emotions. I think our Latino community is very broad, and we are not the same and our cultures are different so it would be nice for a change to have a normal Latino person that is not broke or emotionally unstable. Also the Izzy credit score problem made me feel like this is another stereotype.

Its not about seeing yourself its about these opportunities being available for everyone especially people it wasn’t available to before. Historically certain cutures of people weren’t included in American media and had to have thier own genre and so anerican media just became about white Americans and thats not the true reality as Americans can be any race.

I use to be a MAJOR girly girl like you guys I would spend hours every am getting ready….then COVID STARTED and well all beauty regimes went bye bye! My current regime of getting ready is wash face, serums etc, maybe brush my hair before messy bun, change into old sweats to workout later shower end of day. No make up since lockdown I am NOT kidding! 😂

Everybody is nice in person. You need to spend time getting to know them to know how they really are. BUT I agree I don’t think anyone in LIB is a bad person.

Love the podcast. When referencing people in the podcast, it would be SOOO GREAT if you all could insert a picture of them on the screen. Names are so hard to remember, but faces would keep the audience on track 🙏🏾

You all looked more relatable it's the Midwest persona. It's a known thing to make stories more relatable they use or try to portray people from the Midwest. That's why movies a lot of movies are filmed or conveyed to be in places like Illinois.
It's fine that Zanab "chose herself". That's not what the audience had a problem with. Trust me, no one wanted those two to get married (for different reasons). It's how she went about "choosing herself". And the things she said to him and about him. At the altar!
She did it in a nasty attack way as when Deepti did it, it came across as genuine.. if that makes sense

Deepti….. a 10 year old isn’t grown 😂. I was a single mom with a 10 year old and now happily married to an amazing man who has spent a LONG time building trust and factoring my daughter in as part of the equation of our relationship. His priority to become a husband was on the same par as his priority to become an “instant step dad”. You can’t speak on behalf of this 10 year old, that she’s ready for ALL of this…. potential new stranger/dad, media attention, etc. etc. It’s especially because her daughter is OLD ENOUGH to google, this is going to be a wild ride for someone her age who is STILL SO impressionable, not even scratching the surface of developing a world view, and hasn’t even gone through puberty completely. This decision to go on LIB on her mom’s part (I mean, it’s her decision, more power to her) is worth the scrutiny. I love you and Natalie. But Deepti, respectfully, you don’t have a child, I don’t think you can say how this experience can impact a 10 year old and is “grown enough” to be able to handle all of this. ❤
I agree with what you are saying. I know others have mentioned that LIB Brazil had single parents in their cast but A) I don’t know statistically how successful the relationships were on that show B) I think it’s important to point out cultural differences. I am just wondering whether it’s more socially acceptable in Brazil. In the US, this isn’t considered the norm, and I feel like jessica is there for herself and what opportunities will come that would benefit her more than she is thinking of what is truly best for her child.

In reality, having a stepparent is a BIG & serious transition in any child’s life whether they’re excited about it or not. Whether they’re a toddler, 10 or 16 yrs old. As a mother, a protector of your child, it’s RISKY letting a man that you’ve only known for 2 months move in & have any level of authority over your child. I dont think people should be mean, but this isn’t a very responsible decision. People have secrets & can change just like that. Not to mention, Divorce impacts kids of all ages. Let’s be honest…
Of course all these LIB people you met were nice. When it's a few hours, people do know how to behave. It's when they were put in the situations where they were living with their partners and had to deal with issues - that's when their true selves come out. And these people you met for the commercial, they definitely had many moments like that where they said and did those things that rubbed many people the wrong way. And more importantly, flat out hurt their partner. Let's not conveniently forget that. Bad or good edit, Bartise did keep making comments about how he and Raven were superior looking. Zanab did pick on everything Cole did and said. Izzy did say that he got turned on when they kept railing her ass, nevermind that it was downright bullying. And our dearest Micah, openly flirted with Kwame multiple times, kept reining him in, because she wanted him after her although she was with Paul. And yes, she outright laughed at another girl who was hurting. Mind you, these are just very few examples.

Regarding the girl who’s coming on the show with a child. I’ve seen multiple situations unfortunately where individuals get into relationships knowing their partner has children, and as soon as they have their own biological children they stopping caring or giving the original child attention. Or it is just known that lots of people will not treat your children they way they should be treated just because they are not theirs, and that doesn’t have to be abuse; neglecting a child or not giving them attention can be very damaging so yeah when you’ve only known someone for weeks and now that’s your new step daddy i’m sorry in what world does that make sense
As a Black woman i felt cringe when i saw comments on ig about theres not enough Black women...i legit feel embarrassed bc on the show there has been plenty. I often responded i feel theres not alot of Asian women (indian, chinese..ect) even latinas. But yet some of us like to embarrass each other by saying theres not enough of us when literary other races have not even been on some seasons at all.

I think that it’s valid to question the safety of marrying someone so quickly with a child. I’m just thinking in terms of really knowing someone and making sure they’re not some creep. Sexual abuse is real. I also believe that Jess is not just a mom and she deserves to seek happiness in her own way.

I don’t necessarily feel about that watching American/USATV shows. When I’m in my home country and know how the majority of our population looks like and they put European featured people as main characters. Then it doesn’t set right with me.
My top favorites:
1. Ben - who barely got screen time and I’m so sad we didn’t see much of him and sad that he didn’t make it to the final cast - I was really looking forward to watching his story evolve on LIB.
2. Trevor - if anyone is fully fully caught up, I really do with nothing but the absolute best for him , he’s my ultimate favorite.
3. Tied for Amy and Johnny and they are absolutely gorgeous together (spoiler alert ) 💖

I was watching L.I.B Brazil and it was so nice to see people on the show with kids. I really dont see the big deal. Jessica seems like a protective mama bear who doesnt take shit Shes young she deserves to try and find love for herself.

I just came in here to add if anyone watched LIB 🇧🇷 Brasil in a couple of the seasons there were a couple of people who were single parents doing the show so people shouldn’t be so judgmental. People date being single parents so calm down and take a seat people.
