I absolutely loved the elites in this game, especially the bosses. They brought back the poise, elegance, and intelligence of the Sangheili that I think was lost in 4 and 5.
If you got back to the old campaign reveal you can see how slow and disgusting the grappleshot used to be. The grapple shot got a huge Glow-up since that reveal.

I love the opening cutscene to this game. The fight between Atriox and Chief is 1000x more believable and realistic than Chief vs Locke in 5. Locke is a spartan 4, and chief is a spartan 2. Obviously chief has the advantage. Atriox is a brute in power armor, so he has the edge It fills me with joy seeing H5 fan-boys trying so desperately to defend their game lol; but enjoy whatever you like, I won't judge ;)
I actually thought it was kinda dull the opening, I would have much preferred a longer cutscene of the ship being destroyed everything is just flash forward again..
This game has made me so happy. The open world, the story, the characters, it’s been a blast for me. I just wish the environments were a bit more varied, but otherwise I love it!
I liked it better than the other 343 games, but thought the level design was very boring. And the final boss was nothing to write home about. Or any of the other bosses for that matter.
@@carburetor77 Mmmmh sure? My first playthrough was on heroic, and the bosses clapped my cheeks plenty of times. Especially bassus, since you don't have your thruster yet. I don't think all bosses were good, but to call them bad is a heavy overstatement.
I loved the campaign. They made the Chief more human without him losing his badassery, and I love the open world concept. My biggest issue is that there are no rewards for completing it on Legendary or on LASO.
Man they also nailed tf out of the music for Infinite. We'll be listening to the soundtracks for this game many years later, in tears from the damn nostalgia.

Because my friends who were never able to get into Halo are absolutely loving Halo Infinite in every aspect as opposed to the other Halo games which they always found too boring. I have a huge respect for Infinite for that reason alone, because I’ve never been able to properly play a Halo game with my friends before.
Man the game just came out... why are you talking about, "many years later"? Just enjoy the gane and it's osts in the present. I've seen so many people talking about how nostalgic they're going to be in the future for things happening now... worry about the future when we get there, if we get there. Put your all into the here and now, because I guarantee you, actively seeking nostalgia does more harm than good.

@@cjm7685 the first 3 campaigns were repetitive aswell, an ancient estructure is discovered, humans must stop the covenant from activating such estructure, the flood comes in and complicates everything, humans stop the covenant from killing the galaxy, cliffhanger ending. repeat.
I like it first but play it again, trust me you will be like this interior design again for the 40th time, the bosses ain't hard if they can get one tapped by a vehicle . They should have had a certain weakness against certain weapons.
It's because everything is in game cutscenes, like the old trilogy. Marty O'Donnell commented in a video that the Halo 2 aniversary cutscenes, made by Blur, are beautiful but adds a layer of disconnect. With in-game custcenes, instead of pre rendered ones, you don't get pushed out if the game to watch a video that looks different than the world does during gameplay.
everyone ignorinf how annoying and uninteresting the story is. its just a big monkey ear raping me half the game. legit turned my volume off during cutscenes halfway thru the game bevause it was so annoying
I see this as a net positive for cutscenes down the line, because i'm a tad annoyed the chief aint wielding the gravity hammer or covenant carbine I held on so tightly during halo 3 and the like.
I'm loving the campaign, the grapple hook and the mechanics are beautiful. Zeta Halo is phenomenal, and 343 really did an amazing job with the storytelling. One gripe I do have with Zeta Halo is that I wished they could have added different biomes. While the story may not be as perfect since there are some problems I have such as Atriox disappearing and never coming back into the story until the near end. But at the end of the day, the sandbox and the levels and the development and emotion of the characters are beautifully done and make up for the problems I have.
Halo infinite is the first game in literal years I couldn’t bring myself to stop. Admittedly the broken custom games is really getting to me, like really bad. But fuck I love this game.
I'm a truck driver and since I'm all over the place, sometimes I have internet, sometimes I don't where I'm at now, the speed is fine, but it cuts out every couple of minutes entirely before coming back, so I can't sustain a multiplayer match... My solution is to play with bots in customs and surprise surprise, they didn't add SWAT to custom games for some stupid reason, so I had to make my own. Then I got to experience the custom games problem of having to remake the settings after every single match. Holy crap they need to fix that. Until then, I don't want to expend the effort and will stick to the pre-made modes.

I really do find it amazing just how many different ways Infinite calls back to CE, especially with how higher-ranking Elites can survive getting stuck by Plasma Grenades on higher difficulties. That was how it actually worked in Combat Evolved. And the Chief can survive getting stuck with one as well if he has full shields, at least on Easy and normal difficulty.
Dooood there's so many small cool things in this. Marine dialogue, Grunt melee, that creature popping up and burrowing in the ground.. It just looks like so much fun. I can't wait to get it for Christmas and finally play!
I legit felt this was a huge breath of fresh air and I had fun playing it even though I haven’t finished it, been too busy just exploring and taking my time.
I really enjoyed it - however it needed more meat to the main story , perhaps more cutscenes and dialogue- the game probably should have started earlier before the infinite got attacked. Introduce the Spartan 4s that fought on the ring - Laskey the banished leaving the ark etc. The game plan for deleting cortana. Game has lots of potential

The story is good? WTF lol. And it feels nothing like Halo 1-3. It's impossible for an open world game to be crafted so each level is fun. Everything is the same boring shit over and over.
this game has so much personality! it does everything Halo does right. the amount of shit your enemies talk, and the tools you have at your disposal to annihilate them, makes the combat so satisfying and fun. nailing a grunt with a skewer after he talks bad on your mother is the most fun I've had in years.
The old Halo games took us across a variety of different terrains during the missions. It would have been cool if we got that, in Halo infinite. Imagine, at the end of this campaign, you and all of the UNSC forces amass in air craft to move as a small fleet from the lush and green terrain, over an expanse of broken ring, to a desert area, where we take part in huge battles, fighting a banished scarab amongst other threats in the open field. Then after this section of the campaign, you mobilise again, driving maybe a mammoth through some canyons, transitioning to a snowy environment. The mobilising and moving in the open world from terrain to terrain would be epic AF in Halo. Flying the pelican with a dozen or so wasps and recovered banshees to establish a foothold on the otherside of a huge expanse where the ring has been destroyed. Seeing the wide open deserts and cavernous rocky terrain laid out in front of you. I hope that they add DLCs to ultimately make this what the full Halo infinite experience is like. Being able to travel around the entire ring.
From what I have read, it was supposed to be much more varied and bigger but because of backlash and reworking, about 2/3rds of the game didnt make into Infinite.
Genuinely my only gripes are that we didnt get to see the Flood floating around in like a tank or something. (This is only a small nitpick, nothing even remotely close to deal breaking) As well as having only one biome. But these probably wont stand as issues for me given that the end credit scene made it very obvious that we will be getting story DLC at some point
I have some gripes with the campaign, but overall I had a blast playing it and that's more than either Halo 4 or 5's campaign did for me. I do wish we could have marine drivers and vehicle caravans. As it is, the Razorback is pretty much the only real option when assaulting bases.

Gameplay was the most fun I've ever had. The story however felt flat and empty. Too much left vague and unanswered. It reminded me of the mystery box thing JJ did with Force Awakens
watching act man has geniune fun with Halo again brings a great smile to my face really enjoyed infinite so far havent had the time to finish but so nice to see people having fun with Halo again after what Halo 5 was and i am so happy that they actually are continuing on Making chief more of a character like they did in 4 i had a lot of problems with 4 but the story between Cortana and chief having to deal with the loss aswell as his PTSD was pretty damn good.
I find it easier to use the grapple on jackals. It does the same animation as shooting their hand and doesn’t use a charge on the grapple so you can chain it between multiple of them
I wish there was a way to keep the Marines in a vehicle when you get out. Getting out to do something that takes a second and then having to wait 10 seconds for them to get back in was kind of annoying
Ngl a lot of the people in this video that commented a bunch of overly negative things about the new characters are the type to just hate for the sake of hating
What I would change going forward would be: 1. Different biomes and weather effects. Rain in the Pine forests would be great. A section with snow and a desert would be awesome too. 2. Blood I'm sure I could come up with more, but as of right now, the music and gameplay is incredible. Even where the story isn't groundbreaking, the gameplay loop is perfect.
3. Make the vehicles ALOT tougher and get rid of the: "turning red to explode" thing. Seriously, I've had brand new Banshees blow up from barely scraping the ground a couple of times. 4. Gib me Scarabs. 5. More allied characters; 2 isn't enough. Also give us ODST's, other Spartans and maybe even allied Elites for NPC's; could even make them rescuable in some side missions. Some cameos from Chips Dubbo, Buck, Stacker, Duvall, etc; just give us more side characters. 6. More weapons, please. 7. Make some more open world areas specifically designed for specific weapons and/or vehicles. One for heavy vehicles, one for snipers, one for flying vehicles like New Alexandria in Reach, etc, etc, etc. 8. Put in those Rhino things we saw in the trailer; more wildlife of all kinds would be great too, it'd make the world feel more alive.
Definitely getting different biomes in the upcoming dlc continuation of the story. Where Chief is teleported to is the other side of ring where the desert sands blow. We haven't even stumbled upon a silent cartographer or the control room. So much more to explore. I'd like night-vision added but I'm not complaining.
@@alanh.5458 It's in the second area of the map you go to after Spartan Griffin dies. It's Thav' Sebarim, an elite who has the weapon. It's near to the right of The Conservatory and The Excavation Site. You can get it fairly early but it comes with a detriment. The Hardlight Ammo Supply box for the weapon types isn't found in banished or covenant bases and of they are it's very rare, they are commonly found in missions where Sentinels are. So don't use the weapon until you get to a boss, the final two bosses luckily have an unlimited supply of hardlight ammo. So make sure to bring the weapon with you before the point of no return.
I'm still formulating my impressions of the campaign. The gameplay is pretty tight, but the back third of the campaign definitely starts to drag and feel samey. I enjoyed the boss fights overall. Whoever did the voice acting for Escharum fuckin crushed it

So they killed cortana in halo 4, only to bring her back in halo 5, to then kill her in halo infinite while also making a new ai which is identical to cortana and is presumably also called cortana… Storytelling 100
My biggest problem with the campaign is how they introduced atriox in a badass way like in halo wars 2 only to replace him with whatever his name was and I know that might set him up for a future villain I'm just sad he wasn't a boss
The gameplay is great but the story was so weak. It didn’t feel like anything was happening the whole time and was disconnected from the larger halo plot. When it ended I thought I was only like 20% through the game.
Lol Red Dead 2 was a painfully mediocre linear experience with a forgettable story. You can’t even do missions the way you want, you can only do it the way rockstar wants. Rockstar is a shell of their former selves owned by a chinese company and anyone who says otherwise is delusional.
The campaign is awesome, unfortunately I personally think that the story is pretty disappointing, I like it but it is not that great. The relationship between the characters is very well done with strong moments like when chief is about to delete the weapon and when the pilot reveals his identity. The banished are just ok, their background is ok but nothing crazy and the fact that Cortana destroy their planet was a good move to made us feel sorry for the brutes, but it is also a problem because Cortana is now described as a b*tch with no feelings about innocent lives, and then she is the good girl who is sorry and they try to make us sad with her sacrifice (sacrifice which make no sense regarding the fact that she just showed that she can destroy planets) And regarding the harbinger and the endless I found this part incredible at first but it really turned out to be catastrophic. First the introduction of the harbinger is not good, she is yelling everywhere "the endless will return!!!" Why !!?? It would have been better if we had the chance to discover the endless by ourselves like how we discovered the flood in CE, like discovering while fighting the banished that there something wrong on the ring, something weird, we would have seen the banished trying to release something in the conservatory etc. The harbinger destroy all the mystery about the endless. Just imagine if at the beginning of CE you have a witch telling everywhere "the flood is coming!!!" 343 literally thrown away the rule of "show don't tell" And as for the endless, now that their existence was spoiled by the harbinger, who are they ? How can they be worst than the flood ? Are they monster? Human like? It is said that they were a civilized society like the forerunners, so why would they be a threat for the humanity ? Why would a civilized society of creatures would attack and kill everyone in the universe ? that's what they are suppose to do given that they are apparently worst than the flood. I really love infinite gameplay and campaign, I spend hours/day on the mp, but honestly the story wasn't that good to me, it's better than h5 and h4 but still way under what was made by bungie. I am still happy because 343 seems to be on the good way at least
And CE was all about a guy in green armour killing evil aliens for whatever reason that have some weird motives that you don't understand. Then appeared these popcorns, scary but no real motives. On its own, CE's story is incredibly basic and unexplained.
i think the endless are already in halo's lore. the gravemind is an endless that fused with the flood. he was imprisoned by the didact on halo 2 (the ring, not the game)
This is the first 343 campaign I've played through twice to completion in the first week. It was just the good (the lacking multi-player probably was a factor too)
@Black ManIt's not the longest even with the open world objectives. Took me 20 hours on Herioc while learning the best way to play and 16 on legendary. That includes clearing all the open world objectives too. There's an achievement for beating the story in 8 or less.
@Black Man I love the first game but I can’t do the ridiculous things I can do in this one. It is also not the most polished I will agree but it is definitely mor polished than the first game. But I would love to know more about your opinion so can we keep this a civil discussion.
@Black Man I mean, I've played every Halo game on heroic and they all took me 5-6 hours (aside from Halo 2, which did take a bit longer, probably closer to the 7-8 range). Those were my first heroic play throughs of each of the games. They've never been super long. I don't see that as a negative as Halo is one of my favorite game series out there, but still. Also, I gotta say...I don't find myself replaying CE that often. Like, it was good the first couple times, but it's honestly the most repetitive one of them all in my opinion. It's not really it's fault as it was the first game and it was made with significantly less resources and people, but it's very repetitive. Also, CE having a perfect story? It was pretty good...but the covenant didn't even get a motivation until Halo 2. Like, the flood and sentinals were fairly fleshed out, but I'm not sure I'd say it was near perfect. Also, I have to agree with Shadowfort1 that the Halo Infinite campaign is definitely more polished than CE. Again, not a diss toward CE, but Infinite definitely fleshed out a lot more out. It wasn't perfect, but I personally think they did right by Chief in this game. Halo Infinite took me about 16 to near 100% complete it on heroic for my first play through. If I ignored all the side missions, I would say it probably took 6-7 hours for story missions on their own, but I enjoyed going through all the side missions, so it didn't seem like a big deal to me to take my time through the game. You're trying to compare the timeframe of completion of a completely linear, mission-to-mission campaign to an open world game. It just doesn't work that way. Sure, you can play through Infinite just as quickly as the other games, but why would you? They give you a whole world to explore. However, if you don't like the exploration side of Halo, you could also choose to just do that latter. But it is nice that you have a choice depending on the type of player you are.
I'm honestly still trying to figure out how I feel about the open world of it since I know my crazy mind still has me doing all the side stuff before going through the main missions, like I've spent a lot of time on the game and still have barely done any missions
@@why8298 Maybe it's just the open world nature, and maybe I did it to myself by collecting everything in my first playthrough while doing legendary. But honestly I have absolutely zero desire to play through it again. Nothing has me feeling like 'wow that experience of playing x was so good I wanna restart the entire game to do that again'. Edit: I just realized you meant going through the open world and clearing up stuff afterwards. Not just collecting them in a later playthrough. Personally I don't like to leave any stone unturned before I start another mission (and you can't skip the inside mission collectables unless you wanna play the whole game again). Maybe it comes from a fear of it dissappearing if you advance the story. I'd assume OP is the same.
I loved playing this, my favourite part was the grunts hiding in a building saying ''nope, no enemies here in this building, you killed them all, none whatsoever, better to just move along'' after you had killed everyone else xD
If each of the island we went to were like a different biome’s it would’ve been perfect without a doubt. Hopefully the next game they do they’ll have that on there🙏
I wish they got blur. Blur makes God tier pre rendered cutscenes, and I think they make better cutscenes than 343's internal teams. It's still good though.
@@SrMaximus definitely. Like I said 343's cutscenes are good, but blur are the absolute best of the best. It's hard to beat them. Of course the intro cutscene looks weak by comparison, even though it's actually still really good
I really enjoyed the campaign, was a vast improvement over 4 and 5. Just finished legendary and have started a new run to focus on the skulls I've missed. After that awful Craig E3 viewing I really feared the worst, but they just about pulled it off.
My thoughts Exactly. Considering there'll be DLCs down the road, and the next one seems to have us on the desert side of the ring, this game could become everyone's favourite Halo over time.
The lore is awesome and the gameplay holds up even from the first one from 20 years ago. Highly recommend playing through the first one (Combat Evolved) if you ever have the time...and then by extension the whole franchise when you realize you're hooked. Lol
The game is undoubtably awesome, although it annoys me how much my frame rate will drop. Overall the campaign and environment are just awesome and so nostalgic still.
This game is like a reverse halo 3. Starts off with so many interesting teases and wow factor of how new and exciting open world halo is. Only to become a tad samey and loses the spark just over about halfway through. I did all the side content though alongside the campaign, so I'm sure other people had different experiences who just blazed through the main missions. Like how halo 3 was just all earth for first few missions and didn't really blow you away until the storm/floodgate. Bit then of course the second of halo 3 is the best in the series...I think I prefer the halo 3 way round of tempered introduction and huge payoffs rather than the what infinite did which was the opposite.
That opening cutscene man... I loved it, especially when you see in halo wars 2 what atriox did to a fireteam of Spartans that weren't chief. The fact that chief holds his own is crazy cool, he even rocks atriox at one point with that uppercut. Considering atriox is a brute in power armour, and possibly one of if not the the finest fighter the covenant ever produced (before he defected), and of course possibly the toughest bastard to ever exist in a mainline halo game, that must have had some mad power behind it
I think it feels that way bc they'll be expanding it a lot over the coming years. As long as they got the core gameplay loop down (and they did), the sky is the limit for where the game will end up. Normally I don't support this, but since the campaign was complete in many ways and worth the purchase price, I'm ok knowing they'll continue to build on it.
Infinite’s open world that nobody asked for does NOTHING but rob the developers of time to create a worthy campaign with quality set-piece moments. The single player has been dumbed down severely
That’s not good enough, especially since Bungie mastered the formula in the original trilogy. 343 have had Halo for 10 years and the company has utterly failed this legendary franchise on almost every occasion.

Its been hell avoiding these videos until i finished the campaign, but man that finally was just.. perfect. Seriously got the shakes when the weapon asked if its okay to call herself what im assuming is cortana. What a nostalgic rollercoaster.
This game truely is an absolute loveletter to the OG halo fans. And I feel like it even leaves room for the new kids to go back and play the classics, just to see where the story all started. I really wish they could've brought Cortana back into the Frey, into the squad. Like I wish they would've fuzed her with the weapon AI, and that way we'd have Cortana instead of "Cortana" But other than that, all in all, I love the story, love the gameplay, all they need to do now is make elites playable in multiplayer! The elites in this game are SEXYYYY!!! Let me play as one!!!
343 is finally on track to telling good Halo stories in the games. I hope the Endless don’t suck like the Forerunner/Promethean story we got in 4 and 5. They need to downplay the soap opera stuff with Cortana, make the villains less godlike, and allow for new leadership in the Banished so we don’t kill off Atriox too quick thus losing the only good faction they have. I want the DLCs to take us to other locations on the ring as different characters as well as Chief. This is a good foundation to what can be a great game if they don’t back pedal to appeal to expand lore fans. Whenever they do that they compromise actual gameplay for the sake of an EU reference and it is the reason Halo has struggled this past decade.
This campaign's sole purpose was to set up future campaign DLC that you'll have to pay for to get the actual story. The open world gave 343 the ability to make around 3-4 hours of story gameplay extended to 20+ hours doing all the side stuff.
@@horrificpleasantry9474 this is by far one of the laziest stories by 343. The intro was good. The remaining 95% was repetitive “grab the power cell” and “go here and download something”. The entire story of infinite takes place over less than literally 1 day. Even Guardians had more substance than this.
I loved the writing for The Weapon. It’s not necessarily funny but is adorable/adorkable. Plus the subtle little moments of her saying things like how the ring is beautiful and seeing it completed etc. are fantastic at making you think something might be up with her and not fully trust her. Basically exactly what Chief would feel in those moments because of what just happened with Cortana and all other AIs. I was worried that she could betray us because of those moments. And to see that they had Deletion Protocols made me feel justified in my concern. Really enjoyed it! P.S. one of the passwords needed in the deletion sequence was Samuel. Which is a nice call back to The Fall of Reach book. As Sam was Chiefs best friend, and one of the first Spartans to die in the Covenant war. *Chef kisses all around *
Ain't just one of the passwords that references The Fall of Reach. They all do. Operation: RED FLAG was the scrubbed mission to capture a Prophet that they were to go on and the first Chief was to be properly paired with Cortana on, and the all numbers password was Samuel's spartan designation.
When I was playing the campaign my frame rate didn't drop at all. If it did it was barley and I honestly didn't run into any bugs. To be fair the game runs really well
Something I loved about the campaign was seeing the actual weapon you were holding in the cutscenes, I don’t remember if it’s in Halo 3 but last I remember it was in Halo 2
I was really a fan of the story at first, but now, I realized that there's actually not much that you do except go to a base and kill a boss... It missed some things imo

As a person that only has a PS5 I'm so glad everyone is enjoying the game. I'll probably get a next-gen Xbox when they are available just because I've always heard about Halo. Mostly through your channel.
You could get gamepass ultimate and play it through cloud gaming on your phone, it might not be the best but at least you get something. And it's cheaper then spending 677 dollars, I am Canadian so the series x costed me more

I went balls deep, 100% complete on Legendary. Did every side objective, collected every collectable.

I love the opening cutscene to this game. The fight between Atriox and Chief is 1000x more believable and realistic than Chief vs Locke in 5. Locke is a spartan 4, and chief is a spartan 2. Obviously chief has the advantage. Atriox is a brute in power armor, so he has the edge

This game has made me so happy. The open world, the story, the characters, it’s been a blast for me. I just wish the environments were a bit more varied, but otherwise I love it!

I loved the campaign. They made the Chief more human without him losing his badassery, and I love the open world concept. My biggest issue is that there are no rewards for completing it on Legendary or on LASO.

With in-game custcenes, instead of pre rendered ones, you don't get pushed out if the game to watch a video that looks different than the world does during gameplay.

I'm loving the campaign, the grapple hook and the mechanics are beautiful. Zeta Halo is phenomenal, and 343 really did an amazing job with the storytelling. One gripe I do have with Zeta Halo is that I wished they could have added different biomes. While the story may not be as perfect since there are some problems I have such as Atriox disappearing and never coming back into the story until the near end. But at the end of the day, the sandbox and the levels and the development and emotion of the characters are beautifully done and make up for the problems I have.

Halo infinite is the first game in literal years I couldn’t bring myself to stop. Admittedly the broken custom games is really getting to me, like really bad. But fuck I love this game.
I'm a truck driver and since I'm all over the place, sometimes I have internet, sometimes I don't where I'm at now, the speed is fine, but it cuts out every couple of minutes entirely before coming back, so I can't sustain a multiplayer match...
My solution is to play with bots in customs and surprise surprise, they didn't add SWAT to custom games for some stupid reason, so I had to make my own. Then I got to experience the custom games problem of having to remake the settings after every single match. Holy crap they need to fix that. Until then, I don't want to expend the effort and will stick to the pre-made modes.

I really do find it amazing just how many different ways Infinite calls back to CE, especially with how higher-ranking Elites can survive getting stuck by Plasma Grenades on higher difficulties. That was how it actually worked in Combat Evolved. And the Chief can survive getting stuck with one as well if he has full shields, at least on Easy and normal difficulty.

I loved the campaign. I'd love to see more areas and environments open up with some DLCs.
I really enjoyed it - however it needed more meat to the main story , perhaps more cutscenes and dialogue- the game probably should have started earlier before the infinite got attacked. Introduce the Spartan 4s that fought on the ring - Laskey the banished leaving the ark etc. The game plan for deleting cortana. Game has lots of potential

Just completed the campaing tonight. Absolutely loved this Halo. Every second of it. Now I plan to go back through the map and complete everything.
this game has so much personality! it does everything Halo does right. the amount of shit your enemies talk, and the tools you have at your disposal to annihilate them, makes the combat so satisfying and fun. nailing a grunt with a skewer after he talks bad on your mother is the most fun I've had in years.
It has it's issues but man the core gameplay is so good. Love the weapon variety and the amount of options you have in combat
I’d say one of the things it lacks the most is personality. The story is meh. Gameplay is good.
The old Halo games took us across a variety of different terrains during the missions.
It would have been cool if we got that, in Halo infinite.
Imagine, at the end of this campaign, you and all of the UNSC forces amass in air craft to move as a small fleet from the lush and green terrain, over an expanse of broken ring, to a desert area, where we take part in huge battles, fighting a banished scarab amongst other threats in the open field. Then after this section of the campaign, you mobilise again, driving maybe a mammoth through some canyons, transitioning to a snowy environment. The mobilising and moving in the open world from terrain to terrain would be epic AF in Halo. Flying the pelican with a dozen or so wasps and recovered banshees to establish a foothold on the otherside of a huge expanse where the ring has been destroyed. Seeing the wide open deserts and cavernous rocky terrain laid out in front of you.
I hope that they add DLCs to ultimately make this what the full Halo infinite experience is like. Being able to travel around the entire ring.
They said it was 10 year game so yeah I think it's safe to say they will be adding a ton of DLC in the future.

I have some gripes with the campaign, but overall I had a blast playing it and that's more than either Halo 4 or 5's campaign did for me. I do wish we could have marine drivers and vehicle caravans. As it is, the Razorback is pretty much the only real option when assaulting bases.

and i am so happy that they actually are continuing on Making chief more of a character like they did in 4 i had a lot of problems with 4 but the story between Cortana and chief having to deal with the loss aswell as his PTSD was pretty damn good.
I find it easier to use the grapple on jackals. It does the same animation as shooting their hand and doesn’t use a charge on the grapple so you can chain it between multiple of them

I wish there was a way to keep the Marines in a vehicle when you get out. Getting out to do something that takes a second and then having to wait 10 seconds for them to get back in was kind of annoying
Ngl a lot of the people in this video that commented a bunch of overly negative things about the new characters are the type to just hate for the sake of hating
What I would change going forward would be:
1. Different biomes and weather effects. Rain in the Pine forests would be great. A section with snow and a desert would be awesome too.
2. Blood
I'm sure I could come up with more, but as of right now, the music and gameplay is incredible. Even where the story isn't groundbreaking, the gameplay loop is perfect.

3. Make the vehicles ALOT tougher and get rid of the: "turning red to explode" thing. Seriously, I've had brand new Banshees blow up from barely scraping the ground a couple of times.
4. Gib me Scarabs.
5. More allied characters; 2 isn't enough. Also give us ODST's, other Spartans and maybe even allied Elites for NPC's; could even make them rescuable in some side missions. Some cameos from Chips Dubbo, Buck, Stacker, Duvall, etc; just give us more side characters.
6. More weapons, please.
7. Make some more open world areas specifically designed for specific weapons and/or vehicles. One for heavy vehicles, one for snipers, one for flying vehicles like New Alexandria in Reach, etc, etc, etc.
8. Put in those Rhino things we saw in the trailer; more wildlife of all kinds would be great too, it'd make the world feel more alive.
Definitely getting different biomes in the upcoming dlc continuation of the story.
Where Chief is teleported to is the other side of ring where the desert sands blow.
We haven't even stumbled upon a silent cartographer or the control room.
So much more to explore.

The Arcane Sentinel Beam is a must when going to fight against bosses. Jega can be killed in 9 seconds on Legendary with the ASB.
how do you get it?
@@alanh.5458 It's in the second area of the map you go to after Spartan Griffin dies. It's Thav' Sebarim, an elite who has the weapon. It's near to the right of The Conservatory and The Excavation Site. You can get it fairly early but it comes with a detriment. The Hardlight Ammo Supply box for the weapon types isn't found in banished or covenant bases and of they are it's very rare, they are commonly found in missions where Sentinels are.
So don't use the weapon until you get to a boss, the final two bosses luckily have an unlimited supply of hardlight ammo. So make sure to bring the weapon with you before the point of no return.
Now the real fun is a razorback with 5 marines with them. It's a train wreck on ANYTHING lol

Honestly almost two years later. I still find this game very enjoyable. Even with its flaws I still put it into my top 5 halo campaigns.

God I love this game so much, it brought me back to my junior high days playing halo 3 with friends all weekend.
Has no one addressed the fact that the banshee startup is literally a remixed version of the sound of the OG XBOX starting up?

The gameplay is great but the story was so weak. It didn’t feel like anything was happening the whole time and was disconnected from the larger halo plot. When it ended I thought I was only like 20% through the game.
Ikr. And people say the characters are great but a lot of the development felt forced and not earned (mostly the pilot).
Watching The Act Man sure does make me want “Why Red Dead Redemption 2 is so awesome”.
Lol Red Dead 2 was a painfully mediocre linear experience with a forgettable story. You can’t even do missions the way you want, you can only do it the way rockstar wants. Rockstar is a shell of their former selves owned by a chinese company and anyone who says otherwise is delusional.

The campaign is awesome, unfortunately I personally think that the story is pretty disappointing, I like it but it is not that great. The relationship between the characters is very well done with strong moments like when chief is about to delete the weapon and when the pilot reveals his identity.
The banished are just ok, their background is ok but nothing crazy and the fact that Cortana destroy their planet was a good move to made us feel sorry for the brutes, but it is also a problem because Cortana is now described as a b*tch with no feelings about innocent lives, and then she is the good girl who is sorry and they try to make us sad with her sacrifice (sacrifice which make no sense regarding the fact that she just showed that she can destroy planets)
And regarding the harbinger and the endless I found this part incredible at first but it really turned out to be catastrophic.
First the introduction of the harbinger is not good, she is yelling everywhere "the endless will return!!!" Why !!?? It would have been better if we had the chance to discover the endless by ourselves like how we discovered the flood in CE, like discovering while fighting the banished that there something wrong on the ring, something weird, we would have seen the banished trying to release something in the conservatory etc. The harbinger destroy all the mystery about the endless. Just imagine if at the beginning of CE you have a witch telling everywhere "the flood is coming!!!" 343 literally thrown away the rule of "show don't tell"
And as for the endless, now that their existence was spoiled by the harbinger, who are they ? How can they be worst than the flood ? Are they monster? Human like? It is said that they were a civilized society like the forerunners, so why would they be a threat for the humanity ? Why would a civilized society of creatures would attack and kill everyone in the universe ? that's what they are suppose to do given that they are apparently worst than the flood.
I really love infinite gameplay and campaign, I spend hours/day on the mp, but honestly the story wasn't that good to me, it's better than h5 and h4 but still way under what was made by bungie. I am still happy because 343 seems to be on the good way at least
And CE was all about a guy in green armour killing evil aliens for whatever reason that have some weird motives that you don't understand. Then appeared these popcorns, scary but no real motives. On its own, CE's story is incredibly basic and unexplained.
Cortana’s character isn’t contradictory though. She realises she fucked up.

No armor unlocks for legendary completion. No armor unlocks for LASO.
The days of armor representing achievement are lost and gone.
This is the first 343 campaign I've played through twice to completion in the first week. It was just the good (the lacking multi-player probably was a factor too)

@Black ManIt's not the longest even with the open world objectives. Took me 20 hours on Herioc while learning the best way to play and 16 on legendary. That includes clearing all the open world objectives too. There's an achievement for beating the story in 8 or less.
@Black Man I love the first game but I can’t do the ridiculous things I can do in this one. It is also not the most polished I will agree but it is definitely mor polished than the first game. But I would love to know more about your opinion so can we keep this a civil discussion.
@Black Man I mean, I've played every Halo game on heroic and they all took me 5-6 hours (aside from Halo 2, which did take a bit longer, probably closer to the 7-8 range). Those were my first heroic play throughs of each of the games. They've never been super long. I don't see that as a negative as Halo is one of my favorite game series out there, but still. Also, I gotta say...I don't find myself replaying CE that often. Like, it was good the first couple times, but it's honestly the most repetitive one of them all in my opinion. It's not really it's fault as it was the first game and it was made with significantly less resources and people, but it's very repetitive.
Also, CE having a perfect story? It was pretty good...but the covenant didn't even get a motivation until Halo 2. Like, the flood and sentinals were fairly fleshed out, but I'm not sure I'd say it was near perfect. Also, I have to agree with Shadowfort1 that the Halo Infinite campaign is definitely more polished than CE. Again, not a diss toward CE, but Infinite definitely fleshed out a lot more out. It wasn't perfect, but I personally think they did right by Chief in this game.
Halo Infinite took me about 16 to near 100% complete it on heroic for my first play through. If I ignored all the side missions, I would say it probably took 6-7 hours for story missions on their own, but I enjoyed going through all the side missions, so it didn't seem like a big deal to me to take my time through the game. You're trying to compare the timeframe of completion of a completely linear, mission-to-mission campaign to an open world game. It just doesn't work that way. Sure, you can play through Infinite just as quickly as the other games, but why would you? They give you a whole world to explore. However, if you don't like the exploration side of Halo, you could also choose to just do that latter. But it is nice that you have a choice depending on the type of player you are.
I'm honestly still trying to figure out how I feel about the open world of it since I know my crazy mind still has me doing all the side stuff before going through the main missions, like I've spent a lot of time on the game and still have barely done any missions

@@why8298 Maybe it's just the open world nature, and maybe I did it to myself by collecting everything in my first playthrough while doing legendary. But honestly I have absolutely zero desire to play through it again. Nothing has me feeling like 'wow that experience of playing x was so good I wanna restart the entire game to do that again'.
Edit: I just realized you meant going through the open world and clearing up stuff afterwards. Not just collecting them in a later playthrough. Personally I don't like to leave any stone unturned before I start another mission (and you can't skip the inside mission collectables unless you wanna play the whole game again). Maybe it comes from a fear of it dissappearing if you advance the story. I'd assume OP is the same.

I loved playing this, my favourite part was the grunts hiding in a building saying ''nope, no enemies here in this building, you killed them all, none whatsoever, better to just move along'' after you had killed everyone else xD
If each of the island we went to were like a different biome’s it would’ve been perfect without a doubt. Hopefully the next game they do they’ll have that on there🙏
The opening is got to be the beautiful pre rendered cutscene I have ever seen in my life so far.
I wish they got blur. Blur makes God tier pre rendered cutscenes, and I think they make better cutscenes than 343's internal teams. It's still good though.
Hell yeah, but definitely Blur outdid themselves with H2A and HW2, the most beautiful cinematic in HISTORY
@@SrMaximus definitely. Like I said 343's cutscenes are good, but blur are the absolute best of the best. It's hard to beat them. Of course the intro cutscene looks weak by comparison, even though it's actually still really good

I really enjoyed the campaign, was a vast improvement over 4 and 5. Just finished legendary and have started a new run to focus on the skulls I've missed. After that awful Craig E3 viewing I really feared the worst, but they just about pulled it off.

Considering there'll be DLCs down the road, and the next one seems to have us on the desert side of the ring, this game could become everyone's favourite Halo over time.

This was fun to watch even for me, and I don’t know anything about Halo.
The lore is awesome and the gameplay holds up even from the first one from 20 years ago. Highly recommend playing through the first one (Combat Evolved) if you ever have the time...and then by extension the whole franchise when you realize you're hooked. Lol

Those nvedia issues at the start would have annoyed me so freaking much 😅 kinda glad I chose to play it on the Xbox have none of visual bugs.

The game is undoubtably awesome, although it annoys me how much my frame rate will drop. Overall the campaign and environment are just awesome and so nostalgic still.

This game is like a reverse halo 3. Starts off with so many interesting teases and wow factor of how new and exciting open world halo is. Only to become a tad samey and loses the spark just over about halfway through. I did all the side content though alongside the campaign, so I'm sure other people had different experiences who just blazed through the main missions. Like how halo 3 was just all earth for first few missions and didn't really blow you away until the storm/floodgate. Bit then of course the second of halo 3 is the best in the series...I think I prefer the halo 3 way round of tempered introduction and huge payoffs rather than the what infinite did which was the opposite.
Your comparing totally different games years apart. For me Halo2 was my favourite :]

That opening cutscene man... I loved it, especially when you see in halo wars 2 what atriox did to a fireteam of Spartans that weren't chief. The fact that chief holds his own is crazy cool, he even rocks atriox at one point with that uppercut. Considering atriox is a brute in power armour, and possibly one of if not the the finest fighter the covenant ever produced (before he defected), and of course possibly the toughest bastard to ever exist in a mainline halo game, that must have had some mad power behind it
This game is really frustrating because it has the fundamentals of a masterpiece. It feels unfinished.
I think it feels that way bc they'll be expanding it a lot over the coming years. As long as they got the core gameplay loop down (and they did), the sky is the limit for where the game will end up. Normally I don't support this, but since the campaign was complete in many ways and worth the purchase price, I'm ok knowing they'll continue to build on it.
I enjoyed the campaign but it also felt hollow in some respects

I partly agree with you. But it’s still a decently fun time to play. Just not up to Bungie Halo level of quality.
That’s not good enough, especially since Bungie mastered the formula in the original trilogy. 343 have had Halo for 10 years and the company has utterly failed this legendary franchise on almost every occasion.
By far my favorite part is how well it runs on new and old consoles without problem at least in my experience

Its been hell avoiding these videos until i finished the campaign, but man that finally was just.. perfect. Seriously got the shakes when the weapon asked if its okay to call herself what im assuming is cortana. What a nostalgic rollercoaster.
Once the nostalgia wears off you’ll realize how lazy and horrible the actual plot is.

This game truely is an absolute loveletter to the OG halo fans. And I feel like it even leaves room for the new kids to go back and play the classics, just to see where the story all started.
I really wish they could've brought Cortana back into the Frey, into the squad. Like I wish they would've fuzed her with the weapon AI, and that way we'd have Cortana instead of "Cortana"
But other than that, all in all, I love the story, love the gameplay, all they need to do now is make elites playable in multiplayer! The elites in this game are SEXYYYY!!! Let me play as one!!!
343 is finally on track to telling good Halo stories in the games. I hope the Endless don’t suck like the Forerunner/Promethean story we got in 4 and 5. They need to downplay the soap opera stuff with Cortana, make the villains less godlike, and allow for new leadership in the Banished so we don’t kill off Atriox too quick thus losing the only good faction they have.
I want the DLCs to take us to other locations on the ring as different characters as well as Chief. This is a good foundation to what can be a great game if they don’t back pedal to appeal to expand lore fans. Whenever they do that they compromise actual gameplay for the sake of an EU reference and it is the reason Halo has struggled this past decade.
This campaign's sole purpose was to set up future campaign DLC that you'll have to pay for to get the actual story. The open world gave 343 the ability to make around 3-4 hours of story gameplay extended to 20+ hours doing all the side stuff.
Which I would call laziness.
One level had literally one enemy in it.
@@horrificpleasantry9474 this is by far one of the laziest stories by 343. The intro was good. The remaining 95% was repetitive “grab the power cell” and “go here and download something”. The entire story of infinite takes place over less than literally 1 day. Even Guardians had more substance than this.
I loved the writing for The Weapon. It’s not necessarily funny but is adorable/adorkable. Plus the subtle little moments of her saying things like how the ring is beautiful and seeing it completed etc. are fantastic at making you think something might be up with her and not fully trust her.
Basically exactly what Chief would feel in those moments because of what just happened with Cortana and all other AIs.
I was worried that she could betray us because of those moments. And to see that they had Deletion Protocols made me feel justified in my concern.
Really enjoyed it!
P.S. one of the passwords needed in the deletion sequence was Samuel. Which is a nice call back to The Fall of Reach book. As Sam was Chiefs best friend, and one of the first Spartans to die in the Covenant war.

Ain't just one of the passwords that references The Fall of Reach. They all do. Operation: RED FLAG was the scrubbed mission to capture a Prophet that they were to go on and the first Chief was to be properly paired with Cortana on, and the all numbers password was Samuel's spartan designation.
When I was playing the campaign my frame rate didn't drop at all. If it did it was barley and I honestly didn't run into any bugs. To be fair the game runs really well

Something I loved about the campaign was seeing the actual weapon you were holding in the cutscenes, I don’t remember if it’s in Halo 3 but last I remember it was in Halo 2
I was really a fan of the story at first, but now, I realized that there's actually not much that you do except go to a base and kill a boss...

Well this is their first attempt a open halo so as long as we give constructive feedback and not the run of the mill 343 sucks toxic feedback there is high chances of it getting better imo
I enjoyed it, even if the game overused the "enclose you in a small space with a melee-focused boss" thing. Many bosses felt the same. Only real gripe.

As a person that only has a PS5 I'm so glad everyone is enjoying the game. I'll probably get a next-gen Xbox when they are available just because I've always heard about Halo. Mostly through your channel.
You could get gamepass ultimate and play it through cloud gaming on your phone, it might not be the best but at least you get something. And it's cheaper then spending 677 dollars, I am Canadian so the series x costed me more
