You are so charming. Loved your reactions and descriptions. I'll be in Ukraine in a couple of months, and you've even made me want to try salo and holodets. Thanks!
Congratulations to the winners!(if smbd resist the present or i cant contact, i'll do the randoming on emore time) I hope you have enjoyed the video ;)
Taya Ukraine never tried it but I heard a fun "STINKY" fact, supposedly Ukrainian food gives you mad farts this is done so the Ukrainian government can track your location at all times - as the conspiracy goes. Is it true, do u fart a lot?🤔😒💩💩
I am an American Living in America. after watching your video I had to go find an authentic Ukrainian Restaurant here in Seattle Washington. I absolutely loved the food. thanks for sharing.
But Russian teacher didn't give positive response me and shower her proud attitude and I hear I can give my life but through love and kindness, with honestly and loyalty proudness I can't accept
Hi, Taya ! Yummy looking food!! 6:32 Do you say "холодец" / "холодець" ??? But ,,, is it not "заливне"/"заливное" ?? It is well known dish among people in Northern countries, seasoned with salt pepper and bay leaf. Sliced on rye bread, or served with boiled potatoes.. That salad and those cabbage rolls? "голубцы" makes my mouth watering, I'd like to taste those,, mmmmm.. What is the written name of that pickled meat ?? Very interesting?! You stay safe, and keep your Grannies also safe from Corona.. Perhaps, when pandemic's over, I'd like to book a trip to meet them.
Every time I'm in Ukraine the mother of my girlfriend cooks me borscht and other things! It's cute. haha She always wants to take care of me when we meet up with them.
You just found a new name for your channel!...'Salad Digger'! Haha. Fascinating video, thank you so much Taya! I think you went on a fast all day before you started eating the food! I want to try it all. Some is similar to other countries' foods, but with different names. I like the salad, looks nice! I will have to read up about your competitions! Best wishes, David
Hi Taya, another wonderful video 😊. I really wanted to try the stuffed cabbage when I was at a traditional Ukrainian restaurant during my visit to Kharkov, but unfortunately they did not have this dish. And about the pickled meat that you showed last of all, I remember watching another RUclips video showing it in served in a tin with rice as part of a Ukrainian army ration kit. 😁👍 Best wishes from Ireland 🍀
I have only had the cabbage rolls (always with sour cream) and black bread before (cabbage rolls are very tasty!). The other foods I have not tried. The pickled meat looked interesting... The only thing missing was borsch which, in my section of the USA (D.C., Maryland, Virginia), is very difficult to find.
I'd put the pig's fat between two slices or bread or spread it with a knife it has been melted on a pan. The bread will make the salt concentration less and can be eaten with relatively clean hands. The food looks good, and not too nutritious if you choose just a couple of these items.
It was GREAT to have a dinner with you Taya. Interestingly we also have this salty pork fat slices to eat in Hungary and call it salo-nna! 🇭🇺 If I had been there with you, we would have had a much better time with you after dish! 😊
Most of these dishes has Polish versions :) сало - well, we have słonina, we also have smalec that's more like "butter made of meat" cabbage rolls - gołąbki - the same, but I've never tried it with sour cream We have a lot of different salads, but I've never tried this one. My mom likes this "jelly" XD For me it's kinda strange XD Kotlet mielony :) - Again we have it and it's good :) Well, the one cooked by my mom, the school one is awful :/ I've never heard of "frogs" before, but seems to be nice :) Pickled stuff :D I love "ogórek kiszony" so something like pickled cucumber :D And I've never tried this "pickled meat", but I tried meat (something like beacon, but not exactly) with porridge :) We eat with something like yoghurt and it's good :)
I enjoy your videos. May I ask what is the name of the cabbage/rice/meat rolls? Does it sound something like "halupsy"? My grandmother made something very similar (but larger, and sort of rounder), which I remember her calling something like "halupsy" Your video reminded me. Again, I enjoy your videos and look forward to them. My great grandparents and grandfather left Ukraine to go to Canada, and I enjoy learning about Ukraine. Your channel is very good, thank you. (They were ethnic Germans so maybe it is a German name and not Ukrainian.)
love this! should make a video about cooking Ukrainian style food :D american food seems so boring because we are multi-cultural and a young country. i love to cook and grow food
Obeisance ji. Bonhur.Thank You so much for illustrating about Ukrainian food style and that is okay .Apart from their other activities such as singing, dancing, going job ,home gardening and doing every day exercise so on .What I’m Trying to say that following multi activities of life.💐🙏
All that food is eating by Original America, New America doesn't eat any of that because it doesn't come wrapped in paper and served with an insult. 😁 Shuba-Herring under a fur coat is my all time favorite salad. My ex use to make that at Christmas time. The German Schwartenmagen is meat jelly, my dad ate it all the time and as a kid we were forced to eat it 🤢. It had more meat then yours does and we cut it in slices and ate it on dark bread. The pickle meat in a jar is just German meat jelly canned. Ahh! Original America isn't any different then Ukrainians. Thank you for sharing what Ukrainians eat with New America.
Thank you for sharing. That's what makes Ukranian Ukranian. Like chicken feet, pig blood cake and thousand-year-old-egg for the Chinese. We have a lot in common.
1. I can't believe you ate raw garlic. You have bold taste buds! 2. Great message on your shirt! Especially for those who cannot understand humor. 3. "Salad digger" -- so instead of gold or money, you marry the dish for salad. :D 4. If you did ate food like this in Korea, you could make $10,000 per month. We call it 먹방 (MUHK-BANG) --- basically, eating room. Girls do it all the time and many random people pay them money just to watch them eat online or to "virtually" eat together -- I guess there are a lot of lonely teenage boys who are not very social OR perverted old men/ajushees ^.~ 5. In USA, kholodets looks like "Jello" -- u can google it. Every person in America has eaten this as a child. Or when they are in the hospital. We have childhood memory of Jello having fruit or fruit flavor, so meat would be..... an adventure. )) 6. The cutlets are similar to Japanese katsu-don or in Korea, donkatsu. Or in America, there are similar things to crab cakes or country-fried chicken (this is a breakfast food served with some white gravy sauce) Great video!
Smashed potato" ha, ha, ha. You are sooo funny and cute in this. I've never seen someone so charming. Great video. YOu could read the phone book and it would be great!
Next time you do one of these , I think you should do it at granny's 🤗 and I should fly over and help you eat the food it all looked so good! Surprised I missed this video 8 months ago
Ms.Taya, I was really hoping that you featured the Ukrainian blood sausage that I saw on your village video here 😢 hopefully you can ask your Grandma next time, I still did enjoy the vid, thank you & your Grandma...
hay Taya i like this video :D could you make some videos about ukrainian food for example you could show us preparation of some recipes, and some videos about markets to know more about prices and what's available of products, the most known shops and markets, where we could buy best food in quality and reasonable price
I'd love to try salo. In Italy there is a very high quality lard called lardo di colonnata which is a delicacy from Tuscany they make by preserving the lard inside boxes made of marble. You eat it spread on bread usually, it's really delicious, like a kind of magical butter. Salo sounds like a similar idea, I'm sure if it's made well by a good traditional producer it must be tasty.
It's peasant food. Hard core hand to mouth nutrition. Sliced pork fat and pickles, yep that is po people food and there is nothing wrong with that. When you are hungry, one will eat rats - as do the Chinese.
nameste, privit,if i become a son-in-law of ukraine....i have to eat these kind of food right.yours traditional food is look so delicious.but i need rice.when i come to ukraine i will cook myself.thankyou so much taya showing the traditional food for us....is there any indian restaurant at keiv???
Hi. I saw your video nice to see what you eat. You sound like a nice girl. Hmm Ukraine food contains a lot of saturated fat. I like rye bread. I like veges and i think maybe it taste nice. I dont drink milk or milk products. I must admit it make me feel a bit sick. Still I can see why traditionally became popular. Fat has a lot of energy. Same meat. Protein very high energy density. Bread is carbs slow release energy. If you are starving you eat anything. I read there was very bad famine in Ukraine. Maybe thats why they eat such foods. I like Italian or good Indian food. Also I like. Pasta. Rice. Potatos are nice baked. I like fresh steam carrots. Broccoli but very litely steamed. Nice when still crisp not soft. Eggs in like if organic and fed on good grain. Also I like soft fluffy bread maybe with lots of seeds. Thank for sharing. Bye. 😊❤👍
Preeviet eto Sumit. I like the way you talk. I like the way you explanation. So many foods r there if I will be there with you. Then I will enjoy with it. so many thanx....
No problem) Looking forward to another funny video, I hope you don't get hit on this time around (Lol) Taya have a wonderful night their in the Ukraine
Taya, my Ukrainian grandparents always made a puree of beets and horseradish, and we used it as a condiment for sausage and ham. I don't know what it was called. does it sound familiar? I miss holobtsi and vareneky.
I have grown up vegetarian and now vegan in America. But I love Ukrainian traditions, and love to get to know their women. Are there vegetarian options or vegan options in Ukraine, and would the girl be willing to cook vegetarian dishes for me?
You are so charming. Loved your reactions and descriptions. I'll be in Ukraine in a couple of months, and you've even made me want to try salo and holodets. Thanks!

My Russian teacher told me about this salad "селёдка под шубой".
Yeah those foods are very similar to Polish. Especially gołąbki (or as Ukrainians call it голубці) is my favourite. :)
It's called "Sarma" in Serbian.
Nikola Gluvakov Oh cool.
Hello Taya, food looks delicious and I really enjoy your videos. Thanks
We have a similar food here in the Philippines.
Very nice food. I like them very much. The jelly is called Drehgly.
I LOVE TAYA!
Most of these dishes has Polish versions :)
сало - well, we have słonina, we also have smalec that's more like "butter made of meat"
cabbage rolls - gołąbki - the same, but I've never tried it with sour cream
We have a lot of different salads, but I've never tried this one.
My mom likes this "jelly" XD For me it's kinda strange XD
