@@Shadowkey392just listened to and I think it’s definitely top 5! It’s the nostalgic feeling for me of Christmas in the 90’s, as to why this song is the best one imo. The Trans-Siberian Orchestra is number 2. That’s another feeling on its own. The version described is like a video game soundtrack or Blockbuster hit movie soundtrack m, which is epic to say the least. That’s my opinion though.
This was way harder than it needed to be to find. I hear this on the radio more than any other version, yet this version is drowned out by the others on the internet.
Some years ago, a local FM radio station here started playing Christmas music 24/7 beginning before Thanksgiving. This song was part of their playlist. My sister, who is as big a Christmas fan as anyone, came to my folks house and while there mentioned this song by David Frost, The Bells. She said I would love it. I went to the stereo my folks had, picked out this CD, loaded it, and when it came on said, "This song?". She just looked at me and nodded. I told her I bought the album the day this special aired, about 3 years prior. And, yes, I love this version.
🎄 CHRISTMAS AWESOMENESS!!🎄 Everytime I Hear This Version....I Become The Conductor...In My Own Space!!...And Don't Care Who Is Around!! 🤶🏼 I Love Christmas and I Have Always Loved This Version!!🎄 Merry Christmas World!! 🎄
This version blows me away each time I hear it! It's so good I listen to it all throughout the year. It's just too good to only listen to in December! lol Thank you, David. This song is awesome!
Between this song and Michael Crawford's "O Holy Night", this album is a must have this holiday season. I love this rendition of Carol of Bells. Very powerful!
This is my most favorite version of Carol of the bells. The first time I remember hearing it, I was in Walt Disney World Florida watching the water fountains dance in time with the music and beautiful colors. David Foster's Carol of the Bells made the fountain come to life. Happy Holidays.
I came back to say that the ENTIRE album is PURE GOLD!!! No song skipped. The entourage of AMAZING vocalist was great. From N.Y. And visiting my aunt and uncle in C.T, as a kid, gave me such nostalgia, as an adult, now residing F.L. We don’t have much Xmas “spirits” here, given the weather. But this album brought me back to such great holiday memories. Gonna have to watch the full episode/performances now. ✌🏼😊
This special is the reason I hunted down the CD...still a must play every Christmas. Hands down the best whole Christmas special ever broadcast--I liked EVERYBODY. And that's rare.
I’m so thankful to my Dad for sharing this with me. I wasn’t around in 1993, but now it’s traditional to play this every year on Christmas. It REALLY lifts my spirits!
Thank you Ocean King NYC My dad used to listen that album when he was 25 in 1993. But great job. I love the cd music version with no announcer voice interrupting it
I've been looking for this version for the last 3 days. They play it all the time on the radio stations around here but I could never catch it. Finally...RUclips bails me out, again! Love this version. One of my favorite holiday songs...ever.
Trust me.....David Foster......he's a genius.....leading an orchestra plus playing the piano is deep n real concentration... Christmas just doesn't complete with this version of 'Carol of the Bells'.
I think this version is the best also..... I took violin lessons as a child and gave it up because I thought it was boring....this song makes me regret that decision....the strings are amazing!!!!
Still after Christmas but this song is genius by David Foster and the Orchestra! By the way I have some really great speakers hooked to my computer,,hope you do also.
Great version of this song. They also use it for the 4-story Christmas Tree at Silver Dollar City in their music rotation. Search here on youtube for video.
Yes, this was a great Christmas album, and the special was produced to promote the CD that year. But it was buried in the TV schedule on a Friday night, so I'm not sure many people saw it. I guess Michael Crawford got permission from David Foster to use "O Holy Night" in the TSO show. But Foster seems to be pretty generous about that. He allowed several of the guest stars on his album to include their song on their own Christmas CDs throughout the 90s.
every year i go to silver dollar city and they play this song with the giant christmas tree, i havent been there in 2 years now and when i heard this, i realized how much i miss that place
Ha, I remember seeing this when I was a kid. My dad actually got me up out of bed to see Wynonna, cuz I really liked country music back in the day (still do)...
I'm a HUGE TSO fan...but this version of this particular Christmas song is much better than Christmas Eve/Sarajevo (12/24). Not that that's a bad tune, but this one seems to be more powerful, or maybe on a grander scale. Bravo, Mr. Foster.
This is the BEST version of Carol of the Bells, EVER!! Love it!!
I’ve heard better. Recommend you look up Brock Snow.
