Couldn't agree with you more Gareth you need a hobby and escape from it all and there ain't nothing better than fishing in my opinion! Glad I've found your blogs, just now trying to catch up on your other ones at moment. What a lovely family you are, just keep them coming mate!

Hi Gareth, a very well put together and very enjoyable video.
I used to fish the River Dane at Croxton lane in Middlewich , must have been from about 1982 when I was 14 It was a great stretch for good bags of Chub on the stick.
I also fished Gorsty at around the same time. It was prolific on there at the time. I've got some great memories on there from falling in whilst a wasp was hassling me on a Sunday afternoon whilst the lake was packed. Another was getting caught night fishing, after 3 of us were covertly dropped off by my mate's dad and literally crawling with our gear to the furthest end from the hall!! Think that was 1985!!!

Great video Gareth, loads of good tip's.
What made my ear's open was when you were talking about the river Dane, Me & 2 mates used to go and fish a strech of the Dane by a overhead bridge and a big pit next to it ( I can't remember the location as it was over 30 years ago ) for free ;)
We caught the odd gudgeon and small brown Trout then on one Occasion we decided to fish a small wier, I used a stick float for the first time and after a few cast's my float dipped and I landed a 5lb Chub, I felt like I'd won the Lottery.
The other Place that you Mentioned Was the Brilliant Gorsty Hall.
I was Fishing there when the old night club was still going strong.
That place was the ultimate Run's water, you could even catch the Carp with a hook attatched to the bottom of floating controller.
We used to Sleep in our mate's car on the car park on Friday Night's then get up at 3am to get the best swim's, We never cast out until First light though no one ever turned up that early to check if the rules had been broken.
There were tale's doing the round's that Gorsty Hall was the first water the Beachcaster method was used.
That method took the place apart, Great memories.

Hi Gareth, me and an old school friend are thinking of a trip to Stitch in Oct. He ppersonaly is not equiped at all for range fishing and we both dont massively enjoy it. Was that the holiday swim you where in? Is this a swim or water which requires range fishing? If so i think we may change venue.

Hi John, we weren’t in the holiday swim during this trip no. The max range from the holiday swim is about 80 yards so that would probably be ideal for you and your friend. Good luck!

Got to be the most miserable angler out there . If if that’s bad mate why do it? It’s carp fishing it’s meant to be fun
