My ignition cover was bolted on and surrounded on all sides, but I had a pipe cleaner that fit through the holes. Fired right up after that! Thank you. Great and easy to follow video!
Thanks man. Had no idea if that electrode has carbon buildup it wouldn't spark. Makes sense though the way you explained it. It's like a spark plug. I scraped it with my knife real quick and it's sparking. I'll clean it up for real now. Good stuff man.
Thank you sooooo much, I cleaned the igniter, move the rocks, tighten the tank and change the battery. My firepit is working. I was frustrated but followed the video and tried everything suggested and "something" worked. Love this video THANK YOU. ..THANK YOU. 😊
Good, through video. I hear no fuel flowing but I tried it both with both an old and a new propane tank. I'm thinking there's something wrong with the hose or regulator but thanks for helping me get on the right path to figuring it out.
Thank you so so so so much!!! I am a single mom and I was about to cry and beg my ex husband to take me back cause I could not get this thing to light 🤣🤣🤣 thank you I had too many lava rocks I love you
Just bought a new fire pit. It lit up for about 5-10 seconds the first time. Was a used propane tank so I figure it was just empty. Put a full tank in. Same thing happened tonight and then I couldn’t get it re-lit at all. Any suggestions as twice it appeared to light and the went out? Great video. Thanks!
Hey I have a firepit that doesn’t stay lit also. It’s a Tacklife brand. There’s another yt video about it that we have to hold the dial pushed in for 20-30 seconds after it lights and then you can lower the flame and let the knob out. Something to do with the thermocouple? Idk. I just watched the yt video and am going outside to try it now.

Thanks! Understanding the process helped me to problem solve and to know what was working. I was able to test and see the spark to know that part was functioning properly. Tropitone's ignitor process is not very simple and they don't provide any videos to help.
Mine doesn’t have a battery, the rocks are not in the way, I’m getting a spark but I don’t think the propane gas is flowing properly. It’s a new tank as well. It’s frustrating.
@@brady3948 I just replaced mine with a new regulator. Still wont light, and it's not the igniter, because a match won't even light it. I think there may be something wrong with the thermocouple
Check to make sure the spring in the igniter is turned the right way. I let my son help me put it together and he was so curious about what the battery was for so i let him put the igniter together...
I have replaced the battery in the igniter and cleaned out the area, I am not getting a clicking sound from the igniter and can hear and smell the gas coming through. Do I need to replace the igniter? and if so where can I order one and how do I do that?? thank you!
I have a table fire pit, that is missing the "cover" over the igniter. ""Fire Guard" I can't seem to find a replacement. Is the guard absolutely necessary?

Is it possible to light it with a stick lighter as a test to see if the gas line is the problem or the ignition? I've already replaced the box, and it clicks but doesn't light.
I noticed that the bcP fire pit propane unit talks about disconnecting and not leaving outside. Is it not like a bbq grill that people mostly leave connected but propane turned off throughout the year?
Okay i watched your video. Last night My brother-in-law put my firepit together and when he turned ot on it lit right away several times. I put the lava rocks in and today it wouldn't work. It sparks but won't turn on. The tank is full and fully on. I moved the rocks away from the igniter. Tried cleaning the ignitor but couldn't get to it. I even took all the rocks out and tried and just a spark again. I don't know whatelse to try.
I have this exact one. It lights and stays lit for a few seconds or minutes and then the flame goes out. I noticed that if I hold the button pushed in it stays lit, but goes out after I let go. What might be causing this?

You are very welcome 😊😊😊
Instantly helped! It was the lava rocks NOT allowing for oxygen flow. Dude!! You know your stuff!!
Thanks! Cleaned the ignition and cleared some lava rocks and it worked
Excellent,
Thank you 👍
This saved me stressing that I bought a dud! All it needed was the battery! Minor detail not in the instructions to set it up. Thank you!!
Awesome, thanks Janet😊👍

I bet it’s the regulator👍
Apparently the regulator was just doing it's job and when I finally got around it, huge flames started flying out of the side of the hose lol

Thanks so much Kristina,
You made my day with your comments😂❤️😊

Lol same here....I'm afraid to throw a match

Glad it helped!
This helped me start my new fire pit. I had the rocks to close to the igniter
Yep, same with mine.
Mine doesn’t have a battery, the rocks are not in the way, I’m getting a spark but I don’t think the propane gas is flowing properly. It’s a new tank as well. It’s frustrating.
Could be the safety regulator
I'm having same problem. Have spark but no gas and tank is new
Where is the safety regulator?
also having same problem

Hello, I tried some of these steps, I get a spark but the flame wont light unless i use a match or something. Think I need more oxygen?? Thanks
Yep,
Maybe too many rocks in the way.
Thank you so much for creating this video! It helped me get my firepit lit!
Excellent ,
Thanks Amanda😊
This was driving me crazy. Thank you!
Very good 😊
We get a spark and a small flame but it’s not igniting. I don’t hear or smell gas coming out. Any thoughts?
Hi Cole,
You need a new thermocouple .
I have a table fire pit, that is missing the "cover" over the igniter. ""Fire Guard" I can't seem to find a replacement. Is the guard absolutely necessary?
That was a big help! Thank you.

Thank you so much - after many tries, it was in fact, the connection of the tank to the hose😊

Thanks Sandy,
I wonder if some rock dust got in the hole where the gas shoots out, blocking the gas?
I was thinking the same thing but can't get the toothbrush in. What is another way to get to that area to clean it out
I have this exact one. It lights and stays lit for a few seconds or minutes and then the flame goes out. I noticed that if I hold the button pushed in it stays lit, but goes out after I let go. What might be causing this?
I think not enough oxygen.
Can you try removing all the rocks around the area where it lights up?
@@QuickAndEasy5MinuteAppliance ok, I'll try! So around that entire circle?
@@QuickAndEasy5MinuteAppliance I removed the rocks and it stayed lit for longer, but it still went out after a few minutes. 🤷♀
I have this exact issue. Help
Same problem. Nobody seems to have a fix for it.
you got me going again, thanks
Excellent 👍
so you can have lava rocks so it looks sort of realistic but you have to have the burner showing.
How many hours does the fuel tank last
Missed one. Full tank but no flow to burner. Possibly regulator on supply line.
Replaced my regulator, but still not enough gas to light other than just a slight poof, then nothing. I think it may be the thermocouple.
How long does it take to ignite?
3-4 seconds
If the rocks or spark thing gets wet from rain, could that cause it not to light?
Or the lava rock is to close to the igniter and shorts out the spark?
Right on thx dude! 👍🏼
Glad to help😊
How long will a tank of propane last ?
Battery not included would have helped me out a lot. Thanks you tube.
Mine lights up fine but won't stay lit after I let go of the start button.
Can you try and get the igniter to be bathed in the flame so it can allow the safety valve to let in more gas?
Great video
Such a simple concept but these things suck
I did all this. Mine still isn’t working
Sounds alittle like bruce banner
Hi Chris,
This is Bruce. Be careful not to anger me as I have a problem with my temper. I must remain calm😂
I can’t smell any gas
Could the tank be too low on gas?
