Remember the Steve Vai design a Jem contest? Guess who did the guitars for them? They were skins from my company and then were clear coated over so the guitar looked like it was hand painted. Yeah there is a reason they are under $100 and that reason is so you don't have to wait 4 months to get your guitar airbrushed by some guy and hope he does a good job and it turns out how you want it to. I'm not a real artist? Hmmm...I guess running this operation as well as a busy tattoo studio in NW

That's not a problem. The sky is pretty much the limit as to what we can put on your guitar, any design imaginable. We all know how high tech computers and graphic design software is these days...There is nothing that can't be replicated and at a fraction of the cost and turnaround time why someone would send a guitar out to be painted is beyond me when you can get the exact same results here.

I have cleared using both Nitro and automotive urethane clear and they did not harm the skin. What I would do though before you clear is save a scrap piece of the skin which you will have plenty after you install the skin and test the clear on that first to see how it reacts.

We can actually do full body guitar wraps but you have to send the guitar to our shop for that service. After the guitar is wrapped none of the original finish will be visible so you can make a hot pink guitar look like something Slayer would play!!

Reason being is that all electric guitars are different. Even two guitars of the same make and model will not be exactly the same. Trimming the skin after installation guarantee's an exact fit and gives the guitar a painted appearance rather than having gaps.

@orngwhp71 You may have when I just roughly laid the skin out on the guitar but after it is installed there are zero wrinkles or bubbles. The material is speciafically designed to be extremely user friendly and has a special adhesive that eliminates air bubbles and wrinkles that are normally associated with vinyl. Also the laminate we use is designed to mimic clear coat so you'll be amazed how many people you'll fool into thinking your guitar is airbrushed.

This is so friggin cool. I want one so bad!!!!!!!
    Quick Question:
    1) An ESP guitar and an LTD guitar are pretty much the same thing but both aren't listed. If I wanted a skin for my LTD guitar would an ESP one do? Or are there specialized orders?

    @frankgoodheart
Hi Frank and thanks!! The exact material we use is kind of a "secret sauce" so to speak. The material is specifically made with the ability to be removed cleanly years down the road without leaving any residue or doing any harm to your natural finish. Give our product a try, you will not be dissapointed.

@Bad55Taco Sure can!! As long as its a 2 part automotive urethane clear coat.

@edge30 Yes the skin will protect the guitars original finish and in 10 years if you want to take the skin off it will not have done any harm to the guitars natural finish.

This is the same materials used in vehicle wraps and is quite tough. Just do a search on RUclips for "Vehicle Wraps" and you should find how this is done.

    Hi. Nice work.
What kind of Vinyl do you use for the skins?
Is there any chance it could damage the paintwork when trying to remove the skin?

@Virajjj97 This particular axe is a Schecter Damien Elite 7 string.

@robe819 Not at all. Our skins do not affect the instruments tone what so ever

Surely you could trace your guitar and transfer the trace onto the skin then cut out the skin and install but 1. It takes forever and you could still end up with gaps if you botched your template somehow and 2. It would be a major pain trying to install that way on an arch top guitar. I've experimented with every application method imaginable and the method shown in our video is not only the fastest but is also the easiest and most precise.

Hello and thanks!! Our skins are available for virtually any make and model of electric guitar and bass. I tried to list as many as I could on our site but naturally we left some out. An ESP and an LTD will be the same shapewise. If, however, you don't see your guitar listed on our site simply shoot me an email and you can order your skin right through me.

I am assembling a kit made by Saga. It is a Les Paul type. I'm using Model Master 2-part lacquer. I am about to start painting the guitar in AMC blue. I will then follow Model Master clear lacquer. I plan on buying your "school girl" skin and applying clear lacquer over it. My question is will the clear laquer melt the skin? I would like to know before I buy, that's why I listed the specific paint I am using. I want the application to be permanent.

For guitars with pickguards you will get a separate skin just for the pickguard with your order.

Pennsylvania isn't very credible to my artistic capabilities. Maybe next time before you go shooting your mouth off over the internet maybe you should at least know what you're talking about and who you're dealing with...A little common sense goes a long way.

That is not even close to the same results as a custom painted guitar. Sorry, your fancy sticker isn't on the same level as a custom paint and to claim otherwise is just going to question your credibility and reputation. Laminate cannot mimic clear, the image looks pixelated and cheap. Call it what it is; There is a reason this is under $100, so people who can't afford custom paint can get a new look. Don't insult the real artists in the process.
