  • The humorist and author of 'Me Talk Pretty One Day' and 'Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim' brought his entourage to Amsterdam for the Dutch publication of his latest collection of wisdom, 'When You Are Engulfed in Flames. Sedaris instructed the John Adams audience on how to buy drugs in a North Carolina trailer and how to pretend you attended Princeton University before the birth of Jesus Christ. Sedaris, the best selling author of all time, was soon after accused by The New Republic magazine of making up some of his autobiographical reminiscences.

I love Anything by David Sedaris. He is the only author whose books I have read over and over. If I am having an anxious night and need to distract my mind I listen to a audio book with him reading and find him soothing and distracting in a good way😅

Have you seen him Live ?
My daughter and I have been lucky enough to have seen him in "concert" in Ann Arbor & Detroit, Michigan.
      Even got his autograph..
      Fascinating author.

I completely agree! I distract myself from things I'd rather night think about.

If you don’t enjoy David S. I’m afraid there’s something wrong with you! I’ve thoroughly enjoyed every one of his books and have re-read most of them twice over the years and still enjoy them all over again. It’s a pleasure sharing in his wonderful wit and honesty.

What I find so exceptional about David is how he tells us about his flaws, his pains, his slightly disfuntional family, his aspirations that never came to be...that vulnerabillity is what draws us in to his stories. Very recognizable and immensly funny.

David's stories mostly have to be read by David. No one can create the lovely, self deprecating way he shares them. It doesn't transfer to print for me. When he does, I usually piss myself laughing.
