www.timeshighereducation.com/world-university-rankings/2020/world-ranking

Bhavish lowtun yale sucks
@@harja222 did you study in Yale???
I am a highschool graduate.
I made a top15 of the best universities in the world from 2012 to 2021. I used QS World Universities Ranking.
One of my dream to enter to MIT. right now I cannot enter because my high school grade are bit poor.
Study hard and you’ll make it
Qs is penalizing Indian universities for not accepting foreign students.they award points for admitting foreigners and diversity. Indian government should publish their own world rankings .
Placements depend totally on who’s publishing the rankings. US publications of course highlight US universities. Same for UK, German, and Chinese rankings.
Except any publication will have most of the universities be American, whether it’s top 10 or 100. Can’t dispute facts
Lmao Can someone explain how Dartmouth doesn't get a spot in the top 200 Unis but mediocre state unis make it to the top 100
Because Dartmouth is not strong research-wise, and some state universities are very strong research wise.
@@mondaymorning9086 True
cheers to Tsinghua University, China for achieving highest rank. I have no doubt that it will make a place in Top 10 in next 5 years.
Tsinghua = trash uni

This seems slightly biased lmao
See no difference 😑

Cambridge and Oxford should be top 3 at least
They are not as strong research-wise as MIT/Stanford.
@@mondaymorning9086 think again
@@mondaymorning9086 seriously, yeah? 😳
@@wimpypooh8232 Oxbridge are contributing science and technology from centuries.
Anyway, Harvard, for me is the best
If this was edited by someone, not from England, it would be a different ranking.
Since 2000, English universities have won fewer noble prizes, produce fewer billionaires. They also have extremely small endowments, hence facilities and they generally meager budgets. Each of Columbia or Princeton or Yale alumni has produced wealth equal to the Entire economy of the united kingdom and yet, some English authors dare to tell us that their universities are worth going to.
English universities are old and not able to train and nurture future Nobel Prize winners, Entrepreneurs, and Billionaires. But they would still be in the top 50.
It was not about being edited👌 They are consistent on different survey for University ranking around the Globe. Even in Asia, the top 10 here is replicated. Don't simply use the stats for # of Billionaires, nobel prized etc.
Budget and influence is one thing but the overall perfomance and credibility is a must.👌 UK university such as Imperial, Oxford and Cambridge are well known compared to Princeton or Yale.😑 (specially now with Covid Vaccine research of Oxford.👌)
No question about MIT, Harvard or Stanford.👌
@@JV-yd4qgwww.reuters.com/article/us-amers-reuters-ranking-innovative-univ/reuters-top-100-the-worlds-most-innovative-universities-2018-idUSKCN1ML0AZ
This shows how the Uk university system is stacked in the world. This is all research. And yes the value of a university in helping you succeed(Becoming a billionaire, patents, Nobel prizes is important).
@@destamacmekonen5268 haha... But you are just as guilty by quoting Reuter's as your source to back up your claims since Reuter's is now an American owned company, being part of the Thompson corporation! You further claimed that alumni from Columbia, Harvard, Yale, etc are responsible for creating wealth bigger than the GDP of the UK but you conveniently left out or forgotten one individual had he been American rather than British would have been the richest man in history on the planet by a country mile, bar none. Any clue who he is? Well, it's Sir Tim Berners-lee, the inventor of the world wide web and his invention gave birth to the internet that we see today and being British rather than American he decided against patenting his idea so that the whole world can benefit from his invention; oh and he's an alumni of Oxford btw.
Lastly if you want a completely unbiased list why not take a look at the latest Shanghai list whose criteria seems to closely match yours as they place heavy emphasis on things like science and technology research achievements/citations, Nobel prizes won, etc? You'll find that they ranked Cambridge at no.3 and Oxford at no.7. So much for your British bias! Lol.

@FILLIEChKA not so as the latest THES 2021 ranking places 2 Chinese universities in the top 25 best universities in the world, Tsinghua university at 20 and Peking university at 23 as well as a few in the top 100, unfortunately no Russian universities in that select group.
www.timeshighereducation.com/world-university-rankings/2021/world-ranking
@FILLIEChKA if Russian universities do not make the cut in the top 100 list, it's because they fail to make the grade based on certain criteria used to make the assessment which will vary slightly depending on which rankings you are looking at, the THES and the Shanghai rankings being the main ones. I am not sure what this university Olympiads you keep bringing up is all about but no reputable ranking use that to make their assessment whatever that is. This is how THES make their assessment, which you obviously missed......
"The table is based on 13 carefully calibrated performance indicators that measure an institution’s performance across four areas: teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.
This year’s ranking analysed more than 80 million citations across over 13 million research publications and included survey responses from 22,000 scholars globally."
