I love this guy. Finally getting a face to that amazing voice and amazing songs and a real great band. Need a full length doc on the dummies. I’ve always been a fan. Thank you for this thoughtful commentary on creativity.
Brad Roberts, your the best!! I saw you a week ago in Phoenix AZ for the1st time, and you were just so cool and professional and your voice is still AMAZING. Thanks for all you've given🙏👍
Could not agree more. Having grown up with the "industry" desperately gasping its final breaths, it became painfully clear that I wasn't going to see much (if any) money for my music. You can't let it put you off of doing what you want to do or in many of our cases, what we need to do. A musicians life is not an easy one but the gratification i get from compositions and creating music is a feeling no pay check (within reason, unless you have lots of zeroes on the end of the figure) can deliver. Big fan of Crash Test. Always been a big inspiration to me. Enjoyed that interview.
Well! He is right on many points. But the money IS still, and always will be in touring and merch! This step with technology was unavoidable! All respect to the man❤
File sharing didn't ruin anything. File sharing has lead to streaming, and Spotify nailed it. It was inevitable technology was going to change how music was shared. In many ways I think the last decade has given power back to the artists instead of the greedy record labels.
Love Crash Test Dummies so much I did a special 2-hour show on them on my radio show "What's On Your Mind" - you can hear it by scrolling down to the 22.08.2022 here: sapphirefm.org/podcasts/whats-on-your-mind-archives/ Love them!
I always thought that musicians made a very tiny fraction off of their CD sales, which the rest went to the beauracracy of the record label which isn't really needed anymore to take off.
People are still making money off of selling music today, or at least providing it to listeners which gives them the ability to sell ads, it’s just not the artists. It’s Apple and Spotify.
Victoria Richard I agree. In some ways I feel bad for musicians but then again I'm old enough to remember paying $13-$20 bucks for a cd and being pissed when it had 1 or 2 good songs😀
im glad theres still an interest in Brad Roberts. in my opinion one of the most under rated song writers of all time
Oh fuck off.
What a genuine and classy artist! Would love a new album.
How I loved Brad Roberts, still do.
Oh my, his voice. I'd like Brad to read me a bedtime story 😁

Yes indeed I agree. He seems a very sensible person.

Saw them in Flagstaff right before! Makes me drool how great it was.
"...and being in love with what he does."
Brad is a present because it always surprises!
I have always found Brad's perspective on most things to be incredibly profound. I love hearing his thoughts and interviews. Keep them coming!
So inspirational... Thank you Brad Roberts.

I can honestly say "I Think I'll Disappear Now" is one of my favorite songs of all time.
Well alright, I'll just mosey to the bathroom, you flew by like a summer vacation, and you left me with tv movies & a messy kitchen 😊
Brad is an amazing singer/songwriter...and that's coming from a Metal Head!!

THE BRAD ROBERTS "ROCK TALK SHOW" I'LL BE THERE!
I met them in the summer, they all seemed very nice
fuck I love him so much
only underrated under the realm of success
I was curious about what his conversational voice sounded vs his singing sound.
He looks so sleepy...maybe it's listening to his own soothing voice all the time.
Maybe it's the pot?

The sexiest voice ever 🎶😍

I'd like to hear him do a remake of Good Good Father............that would sound cool.
Love that guy. I also think tech did a disservice to talented musicians and bands.
He looks like Javier Bardem in a couple of these shots

Perhaps its better to embrace the File sharing and the changes in the recording business. Evolve with it

His real name is Anton Chigurh.

I'll just say this age has not been too kind to him. :(
