    Fun Fact: Boeing Aerospace, the company that makes planes, is not certified to AS9100 standards, the standard created by aerospace companies to certify that companies' quality systems are good enough to make parts for aerospace. They also have the privilege of sitting on the board that define such standards.

    They may have had more focus on quality if they did not attack other manufacturers to eliminate competition. They put our Bombardier C Series out of business so we had to give it away to Airbus. Now, these planes are a great success via Airbus and these planes are a generation more advanced than Boing planes.

    • @lmc333
      @lmc333 3 месяца назад +1

      Exactly.... Boeing was just so focused on getting short term financial gains for their investors, but ignored the technical know-how of its people to make the correct decisions and the right long term beneficial investments.
      Embraer was made a great company thanks to their early collaboration with Airbus, before they each went their way, Airbus benefits from helping Bombardier succeed with the C series. Inversely Boeing made it bad for both Bombardier and Embraer... Anything Boeing touched in the past 20 decades failed and is failing, including the space sector where SpaceX has to pick up the pieces.

    US stock market is high. Cost of cars have risen from 23k to 34k in last 3 years. These politicians are a complete joke. So much money spent on PPP and other money after covid but very little real benefits to progress of our Nation.
    States collecting 40 percent more property taxes but not one bridge or Dam built.
    China progressing atleast 10 times faster. I used to work Boeing as a structural Engineer. They wanted fast results. Then they lay you off even if you were very useful. 4 managers and 10 Engineers that was the ratio of my group.
    No respect for people's talent and knowledge. Office politics even destroying the company just as these moron politicians are destroying our country.
    Then they have the disgust to critique China because is making very fast progress.
    Even India has made so many infrastructure progress.
    No we create insurrection in Jan 6th and threaten political figures. That is an insane behavior.
    It is a free country therefore I criticize these politicians and say wake up, talk less and do more.

    I think he did a good job addressing the issues. There is inherit risk in building anything of that complexity. Air travel is still the safest way to go. There are great people that work for this company. When they say profits over people i can contest thats not the case. In fact they do a good job of protecting their people and customers overall, honestly, but you wont hear about that in the media or on the hill. Yes MCAS was an issue and there was a production issue but overall i believe there has been quite the effort made to address these problems. I dont see how you can say they are soley profit driven considering there was no profit made during his entire tenure as CEO and big pushes made in safety and quality. Also, every maintenance issue is reported as if it is Boeings doing. I dont think so, in fact i would say just about 99% of these articles are hit pieces meant to get clicks. It was brave of him to do what he did today. The monetary aspect of this discussion was just a distraction. This should have been strictly a quality and safety conversation. He bears a tremendous burden being CEO. Also he was asked to remain as CEO and people seem to be ignorant to that fact.

    • @aqdillman71
      @aqdillman71 3 месяца назад +1

      It doesn't appear that any of the investigating senators have any clue abut engineering, design and the inherent risks associated with any design. The media loves this type of thing. Air travel is is still much safer than automobile travel, by a long shot. This doesn't excuse Boeing of any intentional wrongdoing (if there was any) but let's not think that every plane is going to a fall out of the sky. Per the FAA, on any given day, more than 45,00 flights take to the sky with 2.9 million passengers. Any disaster is a tragedy for those involved as well as their family members but these tragedies are far and few between compared to how much air traffic is on our skies on any given day. Again, it is much more dangerous to drive than to fly.

      Why? I'm a union steward, we've been waiting 16 years for this opportunity, we're strong and United. Pessimism is not the way to think, we'll strike if needed to get back what we DESERVE! WE are the Boeing company.

    • @swolsauce9923
      @swolsauce9923 3 месяца назад

      Boeing is under fire right now, it would be stupid of them to even consider trying to undercut the union with the new contract because it will be all over the media and make the company look even worse than it already does. We have so much leverage it would be a waste if we didn’t take advantage of it.

    It's obvious that BA board and CEO have sacrificed long term profits for the short-term gains. I think too much off loading and outsourcing has resulted in loss of internal expertise. If I were government I would no longer buy F 18 since the company is less capable with NDT and ultrasound than they had in the 1980s.
