There is a memorial to Captain Hart on Find A Grave. It has a photo which is supposed to be Nathaniel Hart but we know that is not possible as no one was photographed before the 1820s.

That’s right. Captain Hart should be brought out to the public more. He was an important man of the time.

The area looks a lot like the Watagua and Noluchucky settlements, in present day Northeast Tennessee, which I believe Boone said it reminded him of.

We visited the Lisle cemetery yesterday and sad to say the site was not maintained very well. Does anyone know where there is a photograph of a headstone of Captain Nathanial Heart?

Could you do something on Mathias Harman of Harmans station

Yes we have avoided that because we want to do something big for Jenny Wiley as she is my 7th great-grandmother but we will definitely cover Ole Tice!

There was another Capt. Nathaniel Hart as well. Capt. Nathaniel G. S. Hart was born in Maryland and was a brother to Lucretia Hart Clay, wife of Henry. He was killed in 1813 at the Battle of River Raisin in present day Michigan. Hart Co. (Kentucky) was named in his honor upon its creation in 1819.

This Captain Hart and his namesake uncle (my 5th great grandfather) are often confused. Both need to be remembered for their amazing contribution to Kentucky history! Thanks for commenting about and remembering him! He definitely needs a video as well!!

@@familytreenutshistorygenealogy I'm guessing Richard Simpson didn't knew that Nathaniel was killed. You think he would say Sarah Hart, widow of Nathaniel Hart
