Sabaton’s cover is basically the same tempo as the Amon Amarth Original, the only part where it’s noticeably different is when they say Twilight of the Thunder God X4 the last one Sabaton screams fast, while Amon Amarth growls slowly at that part, but nonetheless, it sounds almost like one song.

Listen to Charles Mingus, the jazz artist. He loved multiple simultaneous solos like that, taking from old New Orleans jazz traditions but mixing in the newer sounds (at the time, talking about the 50s and 60s) of bebop and hard bop that were harder edged and more experimental. He's both the most metal of the old jazz guys (he was the *angry man* of jazz) and one of the most fun to listen to. Check out Haitian Fight Song.

My one gripe is that it needed just a BIT more heaviness in the bass from AA's version. Other than that, I was blown the fuck away.

tommy ellis No, I meant that it sounded like the heavier one was being a bit drowned out is all. I'm saying it needed more of the bass from the original.

My wife went to bed like 2 hours ago and my new dog is laying next to me and the Patriots have a superbowl game tomorrow and I ran into this fantastic mix of two of my favorite bands and I coulnd't possibly be more exited but I can't make any noise because it's nearly 4AM, BUT THIS IS GOOD
