Hi Eggies!!! I'm getting pretty bored of my usual goodwill thrift store rotation so we're headed to North Hollywood. This small location is usually full of 90s and Y2K gems and this time hit the jackpot with dreamy vintage lingerie slips. Keep watching to see what I purchased and how I styled them!

For the adorable baby doll blue lingerie dress - that hole will be hard to mend cause of how delicate the chiffon is, you probably wouldn’t have a problem sewing it the way you suggested! However, If it was me I would take the lace trim off the bottom, cut about 1/2” to 1” off of the length, reattach the lace and use the fabric you cut to patch up the hole! :) hope this helps!
Also, I continued watching and was so bummed about the red lace lingerie dress you were so excited about! I do think you would be able to adjust it to fit better by just cutting the straps at the back where they attach to the body and sewing them a few inches shorter, that way the under bust will sit at a better spot. If you dont like that this might make the neckline higher, you could absolutely flip the dress inside out and sew about 1/2” to 1” on the side seams into 0” at the waist, which would make the cups look more like when you pulled it tighter around your chest. Or do both of these things at the same time and have it fit even better :)
the BLUE BABYDOLL if nothing else you could put tiny lil patches of lace or lil strawberries or something on it its so cute ...so sad to find holes

Girl! That is a straight up damaged nightie with that hole. The only thing you can do to make it right is iron some interfacing into that hole to stabilize it and then full on slap on an embroidery patch. Like, the trim is in white/cream lace so get a piece of white/cream embroidered trim by the yard and stitch a piece of it over the top of the hole. Like a little flower or a fleur de lis. Then it will look like it was meant to be there all along and not hey, look at my homemade fixit solution to a ruined garment! ❤

11:33 im not a sewing expert but maybe you could do some embroidery to mend it back together or sew it and then iron a patch on it to hide the sewed area? not sure if that would work with that kind of fabric..you may have to place a thicker fabric thats a similar colour underneath to make it more durable. I feel like you can mend this somehow, might be tricky, but i think its possible. its a really cute piece!
This is exactly what i was gonna say, i don’t think you could seamlessly mend it but you could definitely make it part of the look, i would put it on an embroidery hoop and maybe use a small piece of iron on embroidery fabric to just cover the edges maybe on both sides so it seals the edge and then either add like a white lace flower or some sort of pearl appliqué or embroidery

u can totally sew that hole up ! just the way u closed it but inside out :) ull obvs see a little line tho but will be beter then a hole... also u can totally throw ina dart in the top oof that red dress in the bust area. its actually pretty simple to put darts in too !

Hi! Love your videos, but I do have one critique. I’ve seen quite a few times that you pick up xl and up pieces for yourself and not to sell. This is a little harmful for people that actually wear those sizes like me. Thrift stores often don’t carry cute trendy pieces in XL and up; most of the pieces are either fast fashion or grannyish. Especially with the recycling of 90s and y2k clothes. As most people know, 90s and y2k sizing was not very inclusive. I understand the appeal of getting a really nice piece even if it’s not your size. But because of fatphobia within the fashion industry, it hurts mid sized and plus sized people when pieces that fit them are bought up by minus sized people. I also understand that you are not the sole person buying up these pieces, but since you have a platform, you influence people to do the same.
Please consider doing what I’m say. You would help the mid sized and plus sized fashion communities a lot.

so I just bought those brown cargos but they're soooo long and the waist is huge in my normal size. is this how they're supposed to be? they're cute once they're sinched but my entire foot is stepping on them
Yeah I sized down cause they run pretty big and yuuuup the inseam is supa long but I pretty much wear 5” platforms everyday so they work out with my wardrobe. You can also use the drawstring to bring them in more and that might help!✨

Girllll pls do your research on thrift stores and the overall abundance or excess of clothes. There’s plenty to go around in a variety of sizes. Spreading false narratives and assuming ppl are fatphobic is a horrible thing to do🙄✨
