Another enjoyable Vlog, Alan esp. the storytime. Wondrin' if the buddhists are Soka Gakkai as I met some in Melbourne city, Australia and they like to recruit :) Quick question, the home for the night places in this episode where the lights are on 24/7 what are they etc?
Thanks, Robert! I have no idea what they are called. The "michi no eki" (道の駅) are roadside stations and are meant as a reprieve for long-distance drivers. Japan has a huge network of these all around the country. Great for a cheeky sleep!
hey I lived trough one of those rituals in Japan. Talked to some people and it does seem like a cult, but didn't really see any harm in it. Also got some beads to take with me.
I recognize your reserved nature when it comes to the wilds. It's normal and very common. That being said, I know you can do 10 days without a host. It's inside, you just have to find it. Keep overcoming! Live in the Now!
Their was once a time where man shared the land with bears that were 10× larger than today's Grizzlies. Walk into your fears with knowledge and courage!
Your section about the encounter with the Buddhist fellas reminded me of a movie that is pretty interesting and funny. If you haven't seen the movie yet you should check it out. It's called Yes Man.. There is also a RUclips channel called YesTheory.. I think you will like.
Do you want to know what the sign at 08:31 mean? It says: "It is not allowed to use this plug for charging your batteries!" or more general: It is forbitten to use this plug :-) Luckily you cant read kanji!
Alan!!! Please make more videos after it's safe again PLEASE! You are WAAAY more fun to watch than Tim Travels channel

💛 this series so much. The Buddhist indoctrination gave me a chuckle.
Tyoama Ken!

Exactly, there was no harm, and made for a funny story to tell.

Really curious how those coffee drinks are. I love coffee and tea.
The tea in a can was super sweet but hot and drinkable. I imagine the coffee was fine but I don't have a bar...
Lmbo.. the ol, not enough room for 2 of us (another black man).
That was funny! "Gave each other a little nod".

Hahaha yeah I assumed it was something like that but I thought I could plead ignorance.
