    Could've just used Hampus Lindholm for your No Poise example 🤣

    I cant remember which nhl, but i know a young demko used to have crazy high poise and always skyrocketed because of it. Think its really important on goalies

    I make my own rosters as well, and I've always been challenged by what to do when you have struggling players who were still star players in recent years. Huberdeau, Dubois for example. I've always toyed with keeping skill the same, bumping offensive awareness down (and vise-versa). But perhaps all I needed to do was tank the poise by like 40 points. Very interesting experiment, and extremely helpful, thank you sir.

    • @VasyRosterUpdates
      @VasyRosterUpdates  4 месяца назад +3

      Ya I was thinking the same thing, will probably have to do a bit more testing but messing with the poise and maybe still slightly offensive awareness might be the way to go!
      No problem at all!

    Seems like poise can have something to do with team play... the low amount of assists is odd. But Yeah I dont think poise matters much, if at all, in BaP wich is what I usually play

    • @VasyRosterUpdates
      @VasyRosterUpdates  4 месяца назад +1

      Ya agreed! I think it totally just influences the sim when it comes to game play like in BAP I don't believe there would be any impact

    It's interesting to see that huge drop in performance with having no poise. I think you dropped in some stats because, statistically, your performance that season didn't quite match your given franchise potential. And because of off season natural growth, your stats came back up. I'm also curious on what your performance would be like if you gave yourself 60 poise.

    • @HCExplora
      @HCExplora 3 месяца назад

      when I get home I'm going to test medium top 6 potential with everything 70 but with 99 poise and compare it to having no poise. lol

      @@VasyRosterUpdates I''ve done this 3 season test and the results were actually quite funny. Now I wanted to do this because I thought I would push more overall attribute growth because of statistical growth judging from this video. Also, I've watched your other video testing prospect growth unsigned, ahl, and nhl.
      and what was surprising to me is that I simulated 3 seasons with the max poise player and the scratched 36 poise player ended up getting more natural growth and had a higher overall not playing a single game. I'm like bro what am I doing this was a silly experiment LOL.
      In Be a pro we don't really get that much of a description on this specific attribute. "Poise is a player's ability to remain calm under high pressure situations". in this video you've shown us that with No poise it severely affects your statistical performance in those simulations.
      With that said I think its more of long term attribute that could help later in a players career. Because it is one of those attributes that will continue to improve as your player gets older in age while the other attributes tend to regress. Yes I think poise will still help at any given point in a players career, it'll just be more useful later. correct me if I'm wrong but a players natural growth development stops at age 26? or 28? and after that its all about maintaining and statistical growth thats why some players overall improve and some dont depending on their potential. I've seen Henrique jump from 83 overall to 87 overall and then regress because of statistical growth and age.
      Now, I think, but I could also be so wrong on this because sims and development seem to be random in this game. But in theory, if you get a 30 year old player and give him 99 poise and a good veterans coach, It should delay his regression and give him the best possible statistical growth and push his overall the most. I've used phill kessel in one of my franchise modes and he jumped from 80 overall to 85 overall but then dropped back down to 79.

    I always thought high poise was good for playoff stats, cause ive had 4th liner with high poise like bickell for example back in nhl 15 hed always put up good numbers in the post season

    • @VasyRosterUpdates
      @VasyRosterUpdates  4 месяца назад

      Ya that's what I always thought to! Who knows it might as well it is a small sample size

  • @LodestarLogado
    @LodestarLogado 4 месяца назад

    I think there was a slight flaw in your experiment. I think having No Poise sit for 3 seasons degraded his stats, for a better comparison you should have done 3 seasons with one, created a fresh file, and sim’d the same 3 seasons with the other, that way the team isn’t changing/team experience isn’t to do with an increase or decrease in Performance.

    • @VasyRosterUpdates
      @VasyRosterUpdates  4 месяца назад +1

      That is true I see what your saying, I think doing the first season over and over would hopefully avoid that. My main thing of the same file was just wanting to keep coaching/line chemistry the same

    • @LodestarLogado
      @LodestarLogado 4 месяца назад

      @@VasyRosterUpdates one way to work around this in the future is to create two save files at the start of Year 1, sim through the 3 seasons, and then reload the original save - swap the players, and repeat the sim. Should keep all your variables intact.

      And also this is like a super inaccurate test cause of all the weird injury stuff and should have simmed them on seperate sims

    • @HockeyRiveNord
      @HockeyRiveNord 4 месяца назад

      The wya he simmed it is the most controlled.
      Being the same save file for all 6 sims you get
      - same line, except All or No poise
      - same coach
      - same team and schedules.
      I'm sure he turned injuries off and assistant coach lines too.
      The team results were consistent as well, with both line up racking 100+ each season.

    • @VasyRosterUpdates

      @VasyRosterUpdates  4 месяца назад +4

      It's one of those things that I don't think anyone really knows for sure. Some people think it's a playoff stat , people think it's how a player well a player reacts after taking a hit.
      It's hard to say I'd love an absolute answer from the dev team about it!
