Yes! You would have to put on backing plate, install impeller, set clearance then disassemble and start installing seal. For a closed face impeller clearance might need to be checked while removing pump for maintenance, or checked with casing for new installation.

There is a chance to roll the o-ring in the seal while sliding it on the shaft or shaft sleeve, im guessing that is where you use soap.
You can use dishwashing liquid which will wash away.

Honggo Aditya we have solutions for high temperature sealing. contact me if you are still interested.
Tungsten carbide or ceramic. Stay away from carbon seal faces for high temps.
