Possibly her biggest songs, "Crazy", was written by Willie Nelson. Kinda crazy that Willie was already an accomplished artist/songwriter, even way back in the early 60's, and he's thankfully still with us today.
That's right. By the early seventies, when Wille grew his hair long and when non-country-fans (like me) first heard of him, he was already and experienced, accomplished songwriter and singer.
When I hear Patsy's voice, I think, "That's a grown woman's voice, right there." A mature feminine voice that sounds like it could be such a powerhouse, but she uses it with beautiful control.
Patsy was definitely a singer that all others should be compared to. Your reaction to this song is one of the most honest reactions to her I have heard. Patsy is in a space all by herself. You should check out her songs such as Crazy and Walking After Midnight. She was taken way too soon. Thank you for this. Much love
Loretta Lynn was on her way up when we lost Patsy. The perfect Loretta song to answer this song is "Fist City". But, before you get to that song and the Queen of country music, take a listen to "SWEET DREAMS" by Patsy Cline. Sweet Dreams cements Patsy in every music Hall of Fame. Yes her voice even today cannot be matched, God and the Angels couldn't get enough so they took her from us early. Thank You for the reaction and Respect to a true American Icon. You are in my prayers Hoka Hey
Patsy Cline died in an aircraft accident in 1963, and we will miss her forever!!! Leann Rimes is the new Patsy Cline for our enjoyment and Leann is simply amazing!!!!
@@DoIttMiaaaa I'm a six-year-old white guy from the Midwest, but this music was more than music of my parents and grandparents generation and so therefore though, I heard it a whole lot growing up in the late 1960s and early 1970s. And later when I played in pans for years and just a music lover and player of all sorts., in my twenties I played in a rockabilly band and then later a honky tonk band where we explored music from all genres from all decades but still tried to make them our own and be ambassadors of really cool music from the past while also covering new music. And I learned so much about why I love Patsy Cline. She died way too early of course. But she has a rich catalog which I advise you to check out almost anything from in fact anything from. She was this Alto without any formal training that just naturally killed. She had the nation in the palm of her hand there for a while before she died.
So glad that you got to hear her@ Patsy Cline was a one of a kind! I love singing along with her! lol I grew up doing that so I feel so Blessed to have been born to be able to listen to so many incredible decades & genres of music! 💖[I was born 3-23-69]☺️
You're priceless beautiful reaction made me cry this is my all-time favorite Patsy Cline song Patsy Cline's biggest hit was called I Fall to pieces I look forward to more of your reaction videos you're terrific
Great video, I really enjoyed it! Patsy Cline could have sung opera, she absolutely had it in her and would have made a dynamite mezzo-soprano. Patsy had it all: looks, guts, charisma, charm, sincerity and of course the incredible, inimitable voice!
Thank you for reacting to my favorite female singer of all time!! Her voice always makes me melt too!! Great reaction!! Try her Sweet Dreams and Walking After Midnight songs.
Patsy Cline was from Virginia... born Virginia Patterson Hensley, she began singing in the 1940's at the age of 15... She became a performer in the country music scene in the 1950's and began recording songs in the decade. By 1960, she was becoming a star w/ her first hit songs. In 1961, Patsy Cline was injured in a near-fatal car accident that caused injuries to her head and scalp... Thankfully, she recovered and returned to performing 6 weeks after her accident, appearing w/ a wig to hide her scars. Between 1962 and 1963, she toured more often as her career got bigger. Sadly, Patsy Cline died in an airplane accident in 1930 while on tour... She was 30 at the time of her death and left behind 2 children w/ her 2nd husband. Her legacy is her outstanding voice on recordings in her lifetime.
In 1962, when I was 8 years old, my parents took my to an auditorium in Nashvill Tennessee to see show put on by a number of musicians. Among them was a lady named Patsy Cline. As she began to sing she looked down from the stage right into my eyes and I thought I had met an angel. She would be dead less than a year later. I suppose Angels aren't supposed to stay on Earth long.
Patsy Cline was one of the best all time iconic singers in the world Her voice was so smooth and soothing and when she sang songs you could feel Her heart truly breaking. It was truly tragic when she died in that plane crash at the age of 30 what a tragic loss for the entire world. Truly talented singer's and songwriters are a true inspiration to us all. May Her soul RIP.
This song was also done beautifully by Elvis Costello, “He’s Got You” on the album of country classics, recorded in Nashville by the original producers. The album called, “Almost Blue” also has the classic, “Stranger in the House” and several other great hits.
Patsy had so many great songs! I would say, check out "Walking after Midnight" and "Crazy". I like your bloopers! :) and I really dug the background in your backward talking part, lol. Very cool! You truly do have an ear for good music. And I'm looking forward to more Zeppelin reactions too. You're the best Mia! Peace
One of my faves, the fact that she didn't write her songs, but that it comes from deep in her some place throttles my heart/imagination in some way. Good choice, try Sweet Dreams, she was a hick with no formal training.
The backing vocals by the Jordanaires appeared on all of Patsy Cline's Decca sessions from her first in November 1960 to her last in February 1963, during which time they backed her on songs such as Crazy, I Fall to Pieces, Walkin' After Midnight. They are widely known for providing background vocals for Elvis Presley in live appearances, recordings, and feature films from 1956 to 1970.
Patsy cline yes miaa special voice I cant wait for you also to hear other special voices in the group the platters also female powerhouses Shirley bassey Janis Joplin.
Patsy Cline is who I grew up listening to, she is the most Amazing voice. Back then women actually sang lyrics Now days you cant understand half of what they are singing. Listen to Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, Dianna Ross etc. She has her soul in this song......
@@John-fv8scNot exactly. While she got her big break ie signed to a label, in 1957; she didn’t achieve huge status until 60-61. Her career was really just taking off when she died in 1963.
Back when they actually knew how to write a song, and sing live. No electronic tricks, just stepped up to the microphone with a live band back in the corner, and sang and recorded it live. These "artists" of today cannot do that.
Patsy was a country singer but these slower hits are more like rhythm and blues pop classics...this in the style of Ray Charles really. She could sing any damn thing...that puts her way above just one genre. By the way I think the backup singers are the Jordinaires, same group that backed Elvis
Thank You For Your Love & Continued Support ♡ #DoIttMiaaaa

Patsy is STILL the Gold Standard for all female country singers to strive toward.
Nobody could make getting your heart broken sound as elegant and beautiful as Patsy Cline.
I fall to pieces is another great one
This is one of the few songs that will always make me cry. The emotion Patsy put into this song is just unbelievable.
The greatest voice in country music. Period
Why limit it to country? How about "greatest" ever?
Period.
NO. FEMALE voice. MALE was Hank Williams. CLASS dismissed.
Crazy!
Walkin after midnight!
Check out these 2 hits by her!!!

the BEST FEMALE VOICE of all time

Karen Carpenter: "Hold my beer".

I love watching younger generations experience the genius of Patsy Cline.
Probably the greatest female voice ever!
OMG what can I say about this lady! Too bad she was taken too young. Her voice was so awesome. RIP Patsy!!! ❤
During a recording they would not allow her husband to enter because she was crying between each session.
Have you heard her BIGGEST Hit, CRAZY!?? That's a PATSY CLINE Must!!
The Queen of County for ever.
