I do NOT attend church to hear a talk based upon, "Thus says Walt Disney." I attend church to hear a Bible based sermon about, "Thus says the Lord." The statement about the Bible is not our book about God, rather it's God's book about us: God created us and knows us intimately. "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you" Jeremiah 1:5. "But the very hairs on your head are all numbered." Luke 12:7. We need the Bible to know God as our loving Heavenly Father, Jesus as our Creator and Redeemer, and the Holy Spirit's work in our lives. A relationship requires both parties to know each other. The best way to do that is by communication. One way God communicates with us is through His Word, the Bible, which has numerous accounts of Him working in people's lives. The Bible is to reveal His character to us, not for us to reveal our character to God since He already knows our sinful nature and wants to create His character in us. Jesus on the cross said, "It is finished," is NOT a slice of my happily ever after or my piece of the fairy- tale. One of the definitions in Merriam-Webster dictionary of fairy-tale is: a made-up story usually designed to mislead. You are saying Jesus' death on the cross for my sins is a made-up story that is suppose to mislead me! "What makes you holy?" is the question asked at the end of the talk. The last answer posed is, "Going to church on the wrong day." Those who go to church on the Seventh Day are keeping the right day. "For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it." Exodus 20:11. By going to church on the Seventh day we are worshipping God on the correct day. DO NOT turn it around by making a comment on how the world views our keeping the Seventh day Sabbath as wrong!
