The race occurred at Asheville-Weaverville Speedway (track closed in early 1970s), located in North Carolina. On lap 181 of 200 a massive pile-up on the back straightaway took out 14 cars in one go.

If Michael didn’t lend DC his helmet, he could’ve crashed or retired early the race, making it the only race with non-filled podium.

Was good of schumacher too lend DC is helmet... or he of been Fucked... because racing drivers didnt really do that sort of thing back then...

Frentzen, Irvine, Salo & Häkkinen were classified because they completed more than 90% of the race distance so if DC also DNF then Frentzen would been legit 3rd.

I’m only new to F1 but been watching the historicals, I never realised so many legends raced together; jos verstappen (don’t say he’s not a legend, he bred a GOAT), fisichella, Schumacher, barrichello, Berger, Martin brundle the greatest F1 pundit and grid-walker of all time, Damon hill, Alesi, jaqués villeneurve, badoer, eddie ervine, Mika hakkinen, and David coulthard… what season is this? Cause I need to go back and watch this from start to finish

Love the look of these cars - this is what a racing car should be imo. Just enough computers to dial them in yet still simple and raw enough to look and sound dangerous.

Well, 1996: 19 driver didn't finish the race in Monaco
2019: 19 drivers finished the race in Monaco. Anyway, Badoer could get his only pointscore in his career, if he didn't tangle with Jaques.
