I feel like I've been waiting for this moment all my life. One of my favorite brands is making my favorite type of headphone: a closed-back planar magnetic headphone. I can hardly contain myself. The Liric headphone at least from the box looks like everything I want in a headphone: amazing Meze Audio planar sound, closed-back energy, portable, sexy aesthetics. Let's see if this headphone is the real deal or just another forgotten lyric...

Moon are one of the few to review the Denon AH-D9200 also very favourably indeed. How do the Liric stack up to those?

Hi, thanks for the review! How would you compare these to the DCA Aeon 2 Noire, in sound and comfort? I really loved the sound of the noire but the clamp/fit was just a tad off for me(for wearing em 8h a day at work), so I ended up sending em back.
So the Noire has "gently boosted bass and treble," so a slight V-shape. It's tuned to the Harman Curve, FWIW.
vs. the AEON 2 closed, the Noire has a lighter midrange and a larger soundstage. Personally we LOVE the overall comfort of the Liric - it's amazing. Here's a link to the written review for more info on the Liric and the Aeon 2 (since the fit will be the same as the Noire):

LCD-5. But why try to compare an open back with a closed back? (Audeze LCD 5, Meze Elite, Focal Stellia).
Or a $3k vs $4k vs $4500 USD headphone. Unless money is just not a consideration.

@@newsigmundfreud3023 well of course..I just thought it was a strange question..’which sounds better’? At these price points, typically there are diminishing returns in full effect (imo) but at the end of the day i can’t imagine the Liric objectively performs better than the brand new LCD-5.
@@davidcoons89 I was thinking the same,.. But I wouldnt talk until I listen (to it). Audeze LCD XC 2021 I heard is much ‘more’ than many above its price. Offers more quality sound. So, we never know if price can really determine.

I'm liking the sound of my Meze Liric with a Moon Audio Black Dragon XLR cable, but if considering this cable be warned it is a bit stiff and microphonic.

Let's be honest, if you want portable, go IEMs or noise cancelling. These are still quite large and make you look like a doofus like most audiophile cans lol. I wouldn't call the Liric "portable" cans. More portable than other high-end cans? Sure.
