Still got Stone and Kashiwa with him here, plus that wonderful, insane, glorious percussionist! Russ Freeman is a virtuoso and one of the most underappreciated musical geniuses out there. Love the Rippingtons!

The Rippingtons are crazy good. They are so tight and fresh. I've seen some amazing musicians (like Pat Metheny) who don't come close to making me as happy as The Rippingtons do.

Russ Freeman as a guitarist is so underrated. Love his sound/ technique and his economy of notes and most of all his melody. You know it's Russ Freeman from miles away.

I honestly cannot find anything that is NOT worthwhile to listen to with the Rippingtons. I lost all my CD's in a fire a long, long time ago. I just bought 3 CD's from Amazon and I've got one more to buy. "Built to Last", "Open Road", "True Stories", and the 4th coming in is "Brave New World". That's the actual one that turned me on to the group. Russ Freeman is pure genius in his arrangements. With the eventual arrival of "Brave New World", I'll have ripped more than 4 hours of the Rippingtons on my computer. What can I say? More than 4 hours of total bliss. Other faves of mine are Basia and Manhattan Transfer.

The Rippingtons one of the best smooth jazz bands with the wonderful saxophonist Jeff Kashiwa!

This was the absolute best group of musicians to make up the Ripps, which I was lucky enough to see twice. The members have changed, but it is Russ's band and music and the product has always been consistant.

Right you are. When I started listening to Smooth Jazz in the 90s they played mostly 80s and early 90s stuff. Was great way to get introduced into Jazz (smooth or not). Too bad they play a lot of heavy drum machined stuff like Paul Brown programmed garbage now.
