David, I hear ya on that. I had not been digging too much this season but finds like this get me motivated again. I also drop back and watch an old EPIC video from time to time and that reminds me that stuff is still out there to be found! Best of luck to you and thanks for dropping by and posting a comment.
@@RonSwensonRelicAdventures Are you anywhere near Culpeper? I'm coming out from Ca in late March for a detecting outing and wondering if you had interest in maybe meeting somewhere sometime.
Hey Ron nice Hunt there. Cameron Congrats on your 1900 Barber Quarter. Ron Love the Ornate Piece and IHP. Big Congrats on you US Box Plate. Very Nice. To bad about the I Button. Still a great find. Take Care Both of You
Hey My man Crazy D !! I like that Barber Qtr too!! I was surprised it was his first but makes it all the better!! My first box plate--turned out to be a surprisingly great day!! Appreciate you dropping by every video and posting up a comment!!
Great finds! Box plate is epic! Love the lock as well! I've got one from the Oregon Trail in electrolysis now. Love to see yours when it's preserved. Too bad about the I button. But still awesome!
Hey HR. I get a kick out of some of that old iron!! I still dig big iron even knowing it is big iron purely for that reason. A cool old lock!! I dig plenty of junk iron but the good ones make up for all the junk! The I button is unique and has character and adds some mystery to the find! You know i love the box plate!! 😁
Hey Allen, Yeah i alway love to think about the who, what and whys of a find. Who had it, what caused them to toss it or loss it, Why is it there. Part of the hobby that is so fascinating. Thanks for the view and comment.
Awesome hunt Ron I know you were excited finding that US plate and finding that tin back I button and your IHP Congratulations my friend and tell Cameron Congratulations on his 1900 Barbara quarter, God bless my friend
Terry, Thank you my friend!! 👍 Appreciate the repeat visits and the repeat comments! Yeah, i get a kick out of this hobby and noticed that my "dudes" reappeared pretty quickly!! Funny how you forget your real reaction after the fact but these video keep that memory alive forever! regardless of how goofy i get!! Pretty cool!!
Thanks dewey👍 That button makes ya wonder why they wanted to fold it in half like that. It had to be intentional so adds a bit of mystery! Thanks for dropping in!
You got that right! That was exciting. Been looking at the maps and have marked 3-4 other spots to check there. Hoping there are a few more goodies!! Thanks for the comment!
Thanks Wes👍 Darn job getting in the way. Be a couple week before I can get back out!! Yeah my son is in Sac area and they been wet for weeks it seems! Take Care buddy!
Thanks for the sub! Very cool that you are getting your kids into the hobby and involved. Right on!! Cute kids by the way!! I need to get Louis over here!! 😁 Appreciate you stopping by and keep up the great work . Thank you for the comment!!
@RonSwensonRelicAdventures OK, It was a few years back . Ron not to change the subject, but I have lost track to how many detecting channels I am subscribed to, including the big one's, and they have all found some awesome coins. But none of them will ever match your video on the gold dollar coins you guys found at night, still unbelievable, no one comes close.
Hey Tom. Thanks for stopping in and posting up a comment! Hope all is well is CA. Enjoy the e car and electric stove and electric lawnmower 😂 take care buddy!
Thanks Casper. Hope you are feeling better and can get out and swing again. appreciate you dropping in. You said you wanted a good video. Not sure it was a great video but was a pretty good find! 👍🏻
Welcome Posse!! Appreciate you all dropping by and taking a peek. It’s a small channel but we pop out a good un every now and again! Appreciate the comment and sub
Thanks Dave👍 I agree it was an amazing find! Such a small item can get a grown man to get so excited like a little kid! That was a very cool feeling and the main reason i love this hobby! The plate will now be displayed but that feeling will live on and never gets old. The video lets me relive some of these cool finds! The videos are for me and if anyone gets a kick out of them then that is a bonus!!
Thanks darryl--keep digging. Cameron and I always say we find good stuff in sites that have been hunted because we are patient and persistent! Yours is out there!! Good Luck!
Thanks for the subscribe but more importantly hope you simply enjoy some of the goodies we find. Not a big fancy channel but i do this for me and am happy when others get a kick out of a find or two. Check out some of the other vids. We have a couple EPIC videos from 2015. I still watch them from time to time!! We occasionally get over some pretty cool stuff!! Enjoy and welcome! Appreciate you stopping in!
Thise big holes may be for storing ice cut from the river. They used to cut blocks and keep covered with hay to refrigerate foods etc sorta like a spring house
Hey Bama Dave. Good theory on the ice house. There were several of them around and found it odd that they were perfectly round. Many "cellar holes" usually maintain a square shape some sort. Nice catch and thought! The hobby always keeps you wondering! appreciate the view and the comment!
Love the channel! I'm looking for suggestions on film equipment and gear. What do you use...camera, tripod, chest mount, selfie stick, head mount, etc? I'd love to hear some input. I tried to film a little bit today with my phone on a tripod, but found it to be awkward while trying to tote a shovel lol. I'd like to see a quick video on how you film and what gear you use if you think other folks would want to watch something like that! Thanks for the great content!
Appreciate the nice comment. Wish I had a great list but no major production here. iPhone 14 Pro. That’s about it. 😂 hand held and I just talk. Live digs with one hand can be tricky 🤪but I’m not trying to be a professional channel. Just a digger that records a few goodies. I use video studio to edit my videos but they are all pretty much in the same style. I like having the memories to look back on and if others enjoy them that’s a cool bonus! Wish you success!! I like the name!!👍🏻
Well thanks for the reply! I just started relic hunting about a year ago, and I wish now I had filmed my first finds and all the ones since. But better late than never. I do like the style of videos you do, and the relics you dig too! The info helps more than you think. Thanks again, and keep up the great content!@@RonSwensonRelicAdventures
I do a video on both types of plates, one the box looks so similar to the buckle, and the shoulder sling plate the federal also used both are pretty cool mine are from Battle of Chancellorsville
Hi Ron nice finds got back out on the river one seated dime 1850 a SLQ 3 Washington’s some mercury dimes a Indian and last piece to a antique bracelet and a mystery small silver may be a seated or Reale killer hunt
Hey Crazy D-- Thsk for the tip. I was unaware that was happening. Don't really care, but you would think they would reach out for permission. At least he gives credit to the original channels! Thanks for dropping by buddy!
His channel is awesome. Shows all the great stuff people find. Calls BS on the people doing fake detecting. You should of seen his reaction when he found his first Gold Coin. 1 Dollar Gold Coin. It wad cool.
Ron, A big high 5 on that U.S. box plate. Amazing find. Too bad about that “I” button. Do you think that decorative piece is from a book clasp? Congrats, Doug
Thanks Doug! 🤚🏻hi 5 for sure ! Unique button for sure! 😃. I think that decorative piece might be a part of a shoe buckle it is pretty heavy and thick. Also thought it could be part of a picture frame who knows!!
Awesome, makes you want to keep swing'n

I am a little north of Richmond. Culpepper is about 1hr 30 minutes NW of me. The ground up there can be pretty mineralized so be prepared for that.
Wow, congratulations that is a beautiful piece of history
Thank you kindly Jim. Appreciate you stopping and posting up a comment.
