I know you're probably not going to take this well, given the tone of the video, but the fact that you pin the issue on shadow organizations and left-wing politics is VERY telling, especially when the answer is clear, right there in front of us. It's the corporatization of EVERYTHING enjoyable. Corporations see any potentially enjoyable area as a niche to exploit for EVERY SINGLE DIME, and great works are often made IN SPITE of corporate backing. Despite disagreeing with most of the reasons you gave, i watched the video because i wanted to give you a chance. The reason these hyper-corporate mega-politically-correct sensitivity companies exist is FOR THE SAKE OF THE CORPORATION, not for the art or the workers. There's real life politics in just about every game. Unless you want to move into the Siberian wilderness, you're going to live or interact with a society, and anything that is shaped by that society is, by necessity of being made by a person with opinions, political.
Things can be political and still be escapism, the best example I think being Star Trek and later Star Wars. Those are both undeniably escapist works of fantasy, but they still draw very real parallels to our modern world, modern ethics, and if you engage with them at any level other than skin-deep, they'll get you to ask questions about yourself and the society you live in.
I'll say it here so it's easy to understand: Just because you're only now starting to see the politics doesn't mean that those politics are only now starting to exist.
You can say you don't like a game without trying to lampoon WHY you don't like it on some nebulous idea of "wokeness." I don't do that with literature i don't like, and i don't think anyone who considers themselves a sceptic or critical thinker should either. You should look for WHY they don't work, structurally, before trying to find the reasons that structure exists in our political and social space.
My example is Atlas Shrugged, where i don't like the story. Cool, yea, personal opinion. However, I don't just say "it's because it's right wing! It's horrible because it disagrees with me!" I point out structural flaws in its worldview, in the way it presents its society, and mainly how it interprets real-world supply chains and the development of technology in a laughably childish way.
If you want to critique the bossfight and structure in Ragnorok, by all means go ahead. But when you provide no other reason for it rather than "this god that beat him is a WOMAN!!" it really just seems like the structure isn't what's bothering you, but the fact she's a woman. What i'm saying here isn't that i'm presuming you're a bigot or something horrible, but rather, I want you to do better. Give me substantial, REAL reasons as to why it structurally doesn't work, rather than just saying "she's a woman, it rubbed me the wrong way, and this company assisted in development." Hell, you don't even know what parts they actually worked on!
Again: if you don't like diversity, whatever. I think you're wrong, i think that view is not reflective of reality, but whatever. But you don't actually understand the forces that push it. It's not the fault of fuckin, indie devs and twitter leftists, it's GIANT CORPORATIONS seeing tiny fluctuations in market trends and sucking the FUCKING SOUL out of every single project they possibly can to make an extra 0.03% on the quarterly report.
It's not leftists hiring sensitives readers. It's giant uncaring corps grinding your favorite works of art to dust for profit, and the longer you rage against the fake paper target, the longer they can get away with having their hand in your pocket.
My question to you is: Would you still recognize these things as "political" if it was politics you agree with? or would it just be "normal" and "how things should be"
Not to mention, we are living through an indie golden age. The reason companies are doing shit like this is to milk your nostalgia for cash. It always, ALWAYS, comes back to capital in a capitalist society.

Corporations think that people want "inclusivity" and "diversity" because that what primarily left leaning consumers buy. And if they don't include that they get blasted on social media by soy riddled low T manchildren who live with their mothers and subscribe to their girlfriend's OnlyFans. Its because of left wing politics that corporations push this stuff, because the people that enjoy forced inclusion are consoomers that will buy EVERYTHING that the company slops on their plates. Its disgusting.

I mean, it doesn’t really matter, just enjoy the game for its plot, not the color of the characters skin

    • @gamesjernst6563
      @gamesjernst6563  11 месяцев назад +5

The plots are directly effected by these people though? I'm not hyper focused on the skin color of the character, I really could care less. The race swaping of pre-established white characters however is done for the sake of ESG money, its not in good faith. I'm sorry, but Spider-Mid 2 was literally one of the worst-written stories in gaming history, and the propaganda was 100% apart of it.

Ok, let me discuss with you the context of your arguments with the example you gave from God of War:
A black character in a Norse mythology setting "doesn't exactly make sense, right? idk"
Are you asking me? I think it does. God of War is a heavily loose interpretation of Nordic mythology, with a bunch of differences and original material. And the character you mention, as a Jötunn, doesn't even need to follow the specific ethnic group of that particular region. Since humanity and the world are larger than that anyway, and black people exist anyway, I say that it makes even MORE sense to have supernatural beings not being confined to what the people there would know. Then I ask you: Why do you think it doesn't make sense? Really, why? Where are you coming from with this? Why would you tolerate the ocean of 'senseless' things God of War already has as a game and one with a loosely inspired theme, and not tolerate this one twist? I say you are the one being played by an ideology, friend.
These types of consultation teams are essential to ensure good representation and teach people in the industry who don't have enough understanding of others' life experiences. As a case study, I invite you to search for the making of the Magic the Gathering set of Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty, where consultation was essential to help a Western group of designers not make a fool out of themselves while representing an Eastern culture (and also don't repeat the mistakes they made 19 years ago with original Kamigawa).

This is the type of nigga to say religions are made up from the cultures they are popular in, but a white culture obviously would have black gods!
Or better yet, "erm jesus was a brown man, so the white as snow jesus is a racist depiction from the french!"
Everyone seems to confuse diversity with inclusion and you should shit your pants

The fact thats what you got from my video is sad. I swear some people are just hearing what they want to hear. The problem that I stated in the video is that its not a natrual choice made by the dev team, its made because of these shadow groups like Blackrock and Sweet Baby who invest in companies and force it in. I'm sorry I feel its more of a back hand to tell minority groups they aren't worth their own characters so rather than have their own heros/characters they take white peoples sloppy seconds. The argument often times from the left is that this isn't happening, that forced 'inclusion' is just a conspircy when its clearly not, and these people are literally tell you it. The president of BlackRock literally said that was his goal. Go watch my "Ugly women in Western Games" video and you'll see the clip I'm talking about.

You are crying over made of fiction about made up fiction, yes Mythology is fiction that's why it's a Myth. Grow up worry about real life that is compromised and not a video game. First step learn to have an imagination and then the second step learn what suspension of disbelief is.

If you are going to make a game based on Norse mythology, then stay true to the source material its based on. There is no reason to change the skin color of Angrboda for any reason. Does God of War follow Norse mythology exactly, no. But why would the devs go out of there way to make a character who is based of Norse belief's and therefore would be white, into a black woman. It makes zero sense and feels like forced inclusion. Would you be okay if they went back and made Harry Potter a black woman? Or Katniss Everdeen into a Hispanic midget? Or, if the entire world of Mario Bros was suddenly changed to where Princess Peach has to rescue Bowser from Master Chief. I know I wouldn't, because it makes no sense for the story that they are in. So why would we tolerate outside company's coming in and changing established fiction into something that makes no sense and is obviously just an excuse to add forced diversity and inclusion in.
