I think for the aerial firefighting, it would've also been awsome if they had reused the orbis MD-10 model for the DC-10 firefighting tankers.

Do you mean the avatars? Some of the scenery might be mission content but no a lot of the scenery is what you'll get. That was obvious if you looked at the FSExpo presentation last year. Of course the unknown is the avatars, how much involvement will they have in missions, outside missions or are they as you said just for cut scenes. It would be hard to capture wildlife if you couldn't move though wouldn't it. 5:43 and 6:00 and those assets 1:57 are waiting to be taken off the plane during a walk around...
@@dtrjones….Yes, some things with certainly be part of the sim activity, but it looks possible that we will have cut scenes. Time will tell. If they then the sim into a “game” then I will stick with what I have. We will see. It’s difficult to know right now what the final product will be.
I wonder if all the system and world updates in 2020 will already be imported over to the new sim.

The trailer feels very gamey. Ofcourse I know it's goal is to attract attention from a bigger audience. Hope to have some more information about improved flight models, realistic offline/live airtraffic, improved (ai?) ATC communication soon!

I would be super happy if they really improved the lightning in MFS2024, I really think it doesn’t look that realistic in MFS2020
I also hope they add tornadoes, hail, sleet, and freezing rain and they really need to make it where depending upon temperature, pressure, and wind speed/direction the weather changes rather than having it be a repeated cloud pattern
I’m excited to see seasons and much more detailed trees!!! In MFS2020 I feel all the trees look the same across the whole world

Nice breakdown Shane. As cool as the missions look, I just hope they don't put too much focus on them, ignoring the core sim. I also really hope that the hundreds, probably over a thousand bucks worth of addons will work in MSFS2024
I think they should, I’m confident the core sim will be sound. I don’t think I will get into the mission much, but it’s great o bring more people into the sim hobby.

No, I think I heard Asobo is sorta going back on its confidence in tornadoes. Pretty strong possibility they aren’t ready for prime time.

I have mixed thoughts about this. Personally, I have no interest in "missions". Have there been a ton of requests for them? And the trailer shows lots of pretty eye candy, which is nice. But if I narrow down my top priorities, they'd consist of 3 simple things. 1) Much better resolution on the flight panels and dials. They are blurry in most of the planes, at least in VR, and usually require zooming in to see the numbers and letters clearly; 2) passenger seat views in all planes; 3) built-in flight recording and playback.
I'm sure other people have different priorities, but I'd be happy with the 3 I mentioned.
will it be a separate sim? like, will we need to buy it again or would we just get it free for those of us who already have mfs2020?
It’s a separate game, and you won’t get a discount, that’s not how ANY game series work.

Some will, some will have issues and some won't work until upgraded. I know they're claiming it'll all work but that is never the reality.
Not excited, but will at some point buy it (2024 that is - thats if they haven't announced MSFS2028 by then). For me at the moment Its just all eye candy - Im not getting with hype, I'll roll with 2020 for a good while whilst hearing the feedback from 24. They messed up with 2020 and also I def wont be suckered into buying all the default planes, apart from the smaller ones ie 172's etc which were good the larger jets were just garbage.
I feel the same as you, I enjoy MSFS just as it is. I look forward to new aircraft, am constantly refining my settings and really enjoy flying. I cant see why they want to issue yet another version ? leave well alone, if it aint broke ? then dont fix it.
Well Shane, I hope you'll give me credit for ferreting out the information and calling out that the Twin Otter would be in MSFS24. I called that months ago as you'll recall. That aircraft is called the Edgely Optica. I am also betting that R-66 is from Cowansim, and the PC-12 is from Carenado.
Ha ha, well done. I think their was a lot of people on the same line of thought. Interesting the Orbx Optica is no longer on their store and we see one in the trailer.
@@AusFlightSimmer Yes, which is sad because of the 2 Optica models the Orbx was the worse of the two and had the lower rating on the in sim store. I own neither but if I can get it with the sim, then I'll fly it for sure because it is a unique airplane.

it looks impressive and all.... but if the weather engine, flight physics and ground physics don't get a rebuild and made more realistic, then it's really nothing more than a game as opposed to a simulator.... this chopping wind bs on appraoch is nothign short of annoying.

Physics got an overhaul. But im better weather and clouds generation didnt get anything at all basically besides maybe some new cloud types.
Guess you've never flown an airplane in real life. Come to Florida in the summer and jump into a Cessna 172, and you'll swear you're in a pickup truck on a dirt road bouncing around all over the place.
@@ImpendingJoker - I did my pilot training in Florida. Flying 152's, 172's and Diamond aircraft. The 2020 (physics) are extremely unrealistic. It has nothing to do with flying.
@@NicolajFlies Then you should know how accurate the A2A Comanche is, to the point that it damn near alive. So you saying you did your flight training down here I call it into question because nothing in MSFS prevents me from enjoying it, and when it is compared to XPlane(the communities golden child) it is laughable because I have done side by side tests myself with default C172 from both sims and they behave almost identically with MSFS actually being more realistic, and that was BEFORE the CFD update.

Did they manage to swing and miss on integrating a full feature replay system like X-Plane has? There’s no excuses for that. People have been asking for this for a long time.
No preorder this time, will only buy if it is a decent shape and VR support. Also, cannot be helped but notice the DEI pilots showcased, just like the rest of the XBox show. It is getting ridiculous.

...at least related to physical simulation it seems/feels he never was on second place. Anyway, Asobo is working on it and environmental impact feels already good, but a lot of bug fixes are strange if there is really a simulation of physics and systems behind... 😏 Combination of MSFS graphics and physics of XPlane/DCS would be the perfect sim... 🫠

I hear NOTHING about Multiplayer. It SUCKED in 2020 and have been SHOCKED ever since that it hasn't been worked on. Especially now that FS is on CONSOLE!!! We shall see......

Watch it a bunch of times, and you will see heaps of suttle hints. I found a bunch after I finished the video.
@@AusFlightSimmer Yeah like the use of the camera on the ground. You can't do that with out moving an avatar. My bet is that avatars will be usable in the new sim, but probably only at mission locations. However I do think this opens up the possibility for scenery like airports to be more fully explorable through a walking mechanic.

This is just giberish. The minimum specs are not likely to change a great deal, please bear in mind this game is 4 years on from the 2020 game and average rigs would have got better but because of the console connection they are likely to ensure the minimum specifications is retained across all platforms which is what I'm expecting. Of course feel free to turn up the graphics to melt your 2070 super, that's on you!

The trailer looks very good, but you would expect it to look amazing. We have the life long problem of having a machine that will keep up with it ? are aircraft already owned compatible with FS2024 ? I am retired and finally have MSFS running well on my machine. But yet again here we go ? another version, after numerous updates. I just think some of the detail is not relevant to flying ? wildlife and creatures ? very nice but shouldn't we be concentrating our efforts on aircraft and flying ? If it aint broke then dont fix it ? detail comes at a cost, so I can fly knowing that I have detailed mud on my tyres ? where as I would prefer computing resources used on flight characteristics and cockpit details. I suppose each to their own, we dont want to lose sight over what we are trying to achieve here.
One thing I hope is that we can store on disc only those portions of MSFS2024 that we wish to use e. g. I personally would not use a career mode so why download it. It promises to be a great upgrade to MSFS2020 lets hope it lives up to the hype. Microsoft/Asobo have proven to be a little ambitious on the dates they give us e. g. SU15 and it's delays, so dont be surprised if it lobs early 2025 still but cross fingers.
November 2024 is almost 2025 and really should be called msfs 2025 . They bring out the new car year in September. Calling it msfs 2024 just reminds me how late this title is.
As a simmer this just isn't my thing. I would like to see full airport ops including passengers, ground services, shared cockpit, pilot careers, etc. Also, show some vr love because it's still poorly implemented.
The arial advertising shown in the trailer had the quote "The sky is not the limit". Is MSFS2024 hinting at space operations?
👍👍 Great update Shane! So we finally have a release date. And WOW MSFS will finally have autogyros! I taught myself to fly a Bensen B-8M gyrocopter while I was also working towards getting my fixed wing PPL and absolutely loved it as it was just too much fun.😁😁😁😁😁 I do hope Asobo models in the correct gyro rotor blade 'massive drag' flight physics including the infamous PIO-inducing control latency that has killed many newbie gyro pilots over the years . Of course, that slight latency seemed to go away after only a few flight hours as the old brainiac learned to compensate for it. Yep, I'll probably be first in line to grab MSFS 2024! 😁

You can get 2020 with game pass now.
You can either get it through Game Pass or one of the stores, just like with MSFS 2020. It is a game, one that is in the simulator genre.
I'll be doing the same as the previous release, one month of Game Pass to test the performance etc out. Then, if I'm happy enough I'll buy it outright after that.

XP12 tried to get out of the grave, but it just got cemented over.
I wonder if the got the dirty plans and tires from Got Friends? double ender gets dirty and you can clean it by dropping down and skimming the water. There’s also a few other planes I have that do that. Just can’t remember what ones.
I am definitely going to be getting it without a doubt! It really looks the same as MSFS 2020 which they’ll still work on when it’s released but not as much as what MSFS 2024 will be getting. I love that it’s on gamepass although I’m more of PC simmer on Steam so that’ll be a factor in having to buy it
They certainly haven’t shied away from showcasing their helicopters, so I’m really hoping they’ve reworked the rotorcraft flight modeling from the ground up! 🚁
First trailer seemed to show an Extra being used for the RedBull Air race but in this second one it looks like they have made the Edge 540 which we used in the racing so another new aircraft I'd say

It is the former Aerosoft Twin Otter, which I hope means they fix some of the little issues that that model had. I have it and I still like it none the less but I called this months ago after doing some research.
