Glad I found you! I was putting one of these Tanks underneath my Van and then it came across to me as to "Hey, how am I gonna check if I still have water in the tank?" Good to the Point Video, thanks!
Hey there! This was incredibly helpful! We just installed one with the Kus instructions and your video. The only thing I'd add is the drill bit size for pre drilling the screw holes. We ended up using a 9/64 drill bit and it worked perfectly. It seemed to bite just enough.
I’ve just tried the wiring on my unit bought in the UK. Though the colours are different it works the same. Thanks very much for this. I literally couldn’t have worked it out independently.
Great video. Easy to understand and follow, eventually. I have to figure out how to hook it up to electricity before I buy the sensor. I’d like for it to be a DIY. At the moment, I’m thinking of pigtailing the source from an outlet, will this do? I have a 1973 Chinook Slide in camper with, according to the water in sensor, isn’t a 12 gal tank. Would it be right to multiply the LxWxD to get the volume or capacity? Thanks In advance if you answer the Q and thanks again for the installation video. The retro or white will go with the camper aesthetics.
Hi, I have followed your excellent instructions but when I connect up to the power red cable the sensor doesn't move, the only thing that happens is a yellow flashing light, hopefully you can give me some help. Thanks Mark
Hello, thanks for The Information. My question is how you can change The range of The meter, since my watertank has a shorter range than The length of the sensor.
Hi, that was helpful. I just bought a 2020 144, do you do partial (mainly electrical and plumbing) builds for others & if so where are you located? Jim
Do you think the float will continue to be free to fall and rise in a black tank over time? Or will it be stuck after a while? Or should the float be stainless steel?
@@ronpaguio9014 I fill my water tank at the back of the van, so I installed 1 gauge back there. I installed a 2nd gauge inside the van so that I can see the level without getting out and getting in the back of the van. I have a bike rack on the back of the van, And I really only move it out-of-the-way if I’m going to fill the water tank or use the exterior shower. I haven’t run power to the interior gauge yet, but the rear gauge is working well, and the wires are all set to go to the front gauge.
@@foosballjunkie I also want to know this as well. I'll use 1 gauge from inside the van to monitor the level. And a 2nd gauge in the rear when I fill the water tank. I'd also like to know what wire size (AWG) to get. Thank you!
Hello there!. Great Video. Just liked. Im doing a Camper build and installing new tanks. What would you say are the benifits to using this type of sensor? Do the floats get stuck? There seems to be little to no info out there on using the float styles vs the little digital screw ins. However there is ALOT of info on fixing broken/nonfunctioning digital sensors. Not a good sign in my view.
I haven’t experienced the floats getting stuck. But I have experienced electronic sensors going bad so pretty much just use the float sensors now. Also they are very accurate if you get the right depth of sensor.
I tried to do this and it didn’t work well. Both gauges received a signal from the sensor, but it was wildly inaccurate. My end solution was to install 2 sensors and 2 gauges.
David, my tank is 16” in height, and I don’t know if it has ridges. What size is what you bought and is it something you have and would sell? It’s more important to know when I know this goes back almost a year, but do you still have the level? For me, it important to know when it gets close to empty, so I can work with something that’s between 11” and 15” in depth. If I have time, I’ll use my snake camera to see inside it, and check to see if there are ridges. Thanks.
Thanks for posting this. Using this setup for my ballast tanks in my boat

Thank you, this is what I came to find the answer to!
I love the look and smoothness of the dial!
Thank you very much for your video, sir. It helped me a lot with my sensor and gauge installation on my boat.
Glad it helped

You are welcome! Glad it helped.
I put the red wire and orange wire on a push and hold button, it’s only powered when I want to know level.
Boat owner. Same thing. Great video! Appreciate it!!!
what fuse size do you reccomend for the the gauge ?
Awesome job. Really appreciate the wiring detail.
Really appreciate the excellent video! I just wired mine today, it works great thanks to you!
Quick and to the point. Thanks!

Thank you this was extremely helpful. It looks simple enough that I can do it.
How do you put this to the fuse box in the boat please. Can put the yellow and other power wire to the nav lights
how much hight dose it add to the top of the water tank? thank you!

can it be used for hydraulic oil?
Great video, thanks! Where did you end up mounting the gauges...enough room on the Revel instrument panel?
hello I want to ask, if I buy a level sensor with a length of 30cm and I want to modify it myself by extending the rod 2 meters long is it possible
Hello, thanks for The Information. My question is how you can change The range of The meter, since my watertank has a shorter range than The length of the sensor.
You can order the sensor in different depths depending on the water depth in your tank.
Great explanation! Thanks for the info. Really helps.
Thanks.
Can that type of sensor be relied on to keep sliding up and down in a well-used black tank?
What do the screws adhere to?
My gauge only came with bolts which seems confusing to me
They just thread into the plastic. Basically they "tap'' the drilled hole. Don't drill it too big.
Why 1 inch shorter than the tank for the stick?
What size drill bit did you use for the 5 smaller holes?

Hi, we can assist with electrical and plumbing. We're located in Healdsburg, CA. You can find us at vanlandtop30.com

Never tried it in a black tank- only fresh and gray water.
That cleared up a lot. Thanks!
Thank you! It was helpful👍🏻
So glad!
What is the type of voltage to this apparatus and how much volt is needed?
12v
Can you hook up two gauge's to the same level sensor?
