Boy do I love my minimalistic segment displays

Neat! The 2, 3, 5, and 8 are slanted, but that's relatively few trade-offs for 6 segments. I wonder if a slight clockwise rotation would make the numbers look better on average, since instead of significant left slant, it'd be slight left slant and slight right sland.

That is incorrect, just look at the design, you can see 2 L shapes, so there's 6 segments

L shaped in general can mean L or _| or something that can be rotated to look like an L
