I’ve had this bag for almost two years now. I like it for all of the reasons you indicated. I actually have successfully used the clear/frosted small container as my 3-1-1 bag. I also have a small travel CPAP machine which fits perfectly in it along with my power cord, tubing, etc. and still room for a change of clothes, shoes, etc. you mentioned. Two-way access to the one compartment was a big selling point. Good choice.

I have a older version of this bag and I absolutely love it. I just returned from a 4 day trip and the bag fit perfectly under the airline seat and contained everything I needed.

Samantha Brown Essential Carry All bag is the Mary Poppins champ! It opens suitcase style like PAKT, tons of organization, deceivingly a lot more space than lends the eye and only cost me $53 + tax on HSN.
I agree , I have that bag and its very similar. But hers comes with packing cubes, shoe bags , and RFID pocket. Love it! Taking a 3 day trip next week and its all Im using ❤
IMO, you get what you pay for. Yes, the other bag holds stuff, and yes, the size is compliant, and it only costs a fraction of the Bento bag. However, the Bento bag design and materials are superior. Placing a value on superior design is subjective.

His *yutulu* tote is beautifully colored, very sturdy and the perfect size. Not too small, not too big. I look forward to joining my rotation.
I'm a road warrior who invested in this bag years ago. It's worth every penny! The quick access to your laptop and 3-1-1 liquids lets you breeze through TSA security. There's plenty of space for toiletry and tech pouches and ample space for a packing cube with 2 days of clothes on the rear side. And of course there's a trolley sleeve. I took my Bento bag to 13 countries in 2023. I've had no airline issues when using the Bento bag as my personal item (domestic or international). My only issue is that Nomad Lane "dolled it up" with version 4 (handles), so now it's less "unisex," IMO. Fortunately, ver 3 is still available as an option with a nice discount as of Jan 2024.

It's truly the best bag I've seen, and I've tried lots. My goal is to make it work for a two-week trip since I cannot stand checking bags or pulling a suitcase across cobblestone streets. Nomad Lane definitely put a lot of thought into this. It's an investment, for sure, but I know it'll last far longer and be of more use than other bags I've tried. Thanks for the video, Hunter!
I've had the bento bag 3 sitting up in my closet unused. I just pulled it down last month for a quick trip to Hawai'i and I don't know why I didn't use it sooner! I loved it and how much it holds. It was very easy to access the bag on the plane to retrieve necessities. Now, I want to upgrade my bag to the version 4!

Hunter, I just discovered your channel and this video, and OMG is it sweet! I normally use my Filson original briefcase for flights but I was looking for something a little bigger for when I travel long int'l flights, and this one is perfect! I see an issue that your phone doesn't completely disappear when you put it in that side pocket. Is that case. Wished the inside was a brighter color contrast. Great review. Hope next time you show us with it fully packed. Safe travels 🙏🏾
The max width for a British Air bag is only 6 inches, which is crazy-small! Is there any way this could work even thought it's 2 inches larger in width? Would it squeeze to fit 6 inches?
BA doesnt measure personal item bags so dont worry about it. Ive brought bags that were almost overhead bin sized, many times, no issue.

It's amazing how many of these people don't understand that many people looking for under seat bags are flying on budget airlines and therefore will not spend $300 on an item such as this.

If you are well traveled you would know to appreciate that this has no wheels :)
I'm guessing this comment came from someone who mostly flies on the deep discount airlines that only allow a personal item. The Bento bag can get a bit heavy if you load it up. If I were flying Frontier or Spirit, I would probably select a small wheeled tote from the back of my "luggage museum." I have a bad back, so no backpacks or shoulder bags for me.
