Police can lie, and are not versed in ALL law. Therefore will make up law as they go and most will not retract incorrect statements due to power trips and ego protection.

Most PDs and POs just assume that because they are in the same town, the local PD does have jurisdiction. Which of course they don't. Each individual federal place has to submit their own MOU to the town granting authority and jurisdiction to local PD. Until that happens then the open carry of firearms by local PD on federal property is against federal law and the local cops should be arrested for breaking that federal law.

I’m 67 years old, and it breaks my heart when I see older citizens act in such a way. We are supposed to carry the flag of freedom, and pass it on to the next generations! It is a responsibility I take very seriously, whether young people respond positively or not. Many older Americans have become lazy, indifferent and scared of their own shadow. And it truly saddens me.

When in public spaces where you are lawfully present you have the right to photograph anything that is in plain view. That includes pictures of federal buildings, transportation facilities, and police. Such photography is a form of public oversight over the government and is important in a free society.

Officer Darren was so much interested in looking for a law which prohibits photographing at that site and totally ignored the poster which clearly allows photographing. He needs to be fired asap.
What's the use of poster 7 if the postal workers are not required to read it. It should be mandatory.
Each employee should be given a copy to read, to avoid future conflicts of interest.
I just saw on another channel that someone mentioned that they had worked for USPS for several years and they never trained them on Poster 7.
I've seen audits where the management were not aware of their own rules and regs.
The worse thing is, there are rules that specifically pertain to THOSE EMPLOYEES conduct on postal property.
I would expect nothing less from the government. Law enforcement officers aren’t taught the law. They take an oath to a constitution they aren’t taught.

You could tell them you're searching for the five million pieces of mail that go missing every year. FYI: I have watched hundreds of Auditing videos and not one staff member has said they read POSTER 7. How do they know their own rules when they don't read them. Like most cops, then go by their "feelings" and not the laws or rules. The POST OFFICE is a private company with Congressional oversight. All Post Offices have PUBLIC ACCESS areas where members of the Public can conduct business. They also have their own Law Enforcement Agents and Postal Staff should call them and NOT the local cops who usually have no authority unless they have a written agreement (only two Post Offices have such). The Postmaster General's Office has a phone number on-line.
