Dude, I remember this scene when watching the series! I agree, one of the poignant and ambitious scenes in TMNT history.

This is the darkest things this show has done another than killing off splinter.

Well Splinter did die here but your still right since what happened in this episode wasn't permeant. I love that this show had the guts to kill off the mentor character unlike some other shows (cough, cough Ninjago).

Yeah I agree, this is one of the reasons why I love this show, it has comedic stuff, but it wasn't afraid to show some dark stuff. I remember this scene from season 4, where Alopex was going away, Tigerclaw tries to attack her from behind with his ice laser gun, but she dodges it, and then she just cuts his arm off, I got speechless the first time I watched this scene, the most shocking part is that after that, the dismembered arm can be seen lying on the ground, the only thing missing of this scene is showing blood, but still, the fact that they showed this with no censoring at all, in a show that was supposed to be for all ages makes it very shocking to watch, and that made me love this show than I already did when I started watching years ago

That’s why I like this and 2003 series. They blended the humor and dark themes of the turtles.

Yeah, that's one of the main reasons I love both TMNT and Ninjago, there mainly lighthearted kids shows but aren't afraid to cover darker topics (TMNT more so than Ninjago).

agree. and not just that, shredder got away without his underlings retalliating him for dooming earth. and when the time traveling schinatigan happened, neither of the foot clan nor tiger claw know that shredder was willing to let earth die for petty revenge and has no say in it whatsoever.

shreder has join in one of the villains who let earth die for petty vendeta without any remorse of the consequences along with green goblin from mcu and delightful children from down the lane.

My problem with this episode is just how unceremoniously the Kraang were defeated, and how they were only defeated when they weren’t exactly up and running yet. We never get a proper finale against Kraang Prime unless you wanna count Season 2 with the Turtle Mech, and Subprime’s final satisfying battle was with the 80’s turtles. And then there’s some hints that the Kraang are still around in season 5, which doesn’t make sense to me.
