I would like to give props to all the girls who participated because taking the first initiative is what’s important in our community rather than being the perfect candidate. Woeser did amazing since she was brought up well in India so it’s a given that her speech would be better than others however Yangchen, great job for trying and being funny too, I think it’s important that not all Tibetans need to learn how to speak in the formal way since that’s not how we were brought up nor that’s how it’s always been. There are different dialects for a reason and we should embrace them all because after all, we are Tibetan and that’s not gonna change. So we should all learn to encourage and support each other rather than judging and discouraging. The other candidates also did amazing with their performances and just for participating as well since that’s a huge step to begin with. I would love to see RTYC MN organize this program in the future!
