Missouri Congressman Mark Alford says statewide contests could be tougher in 2024

Missouri Congressman Mark Alford talked with me last week at the State Fair in Sedalia about how he expects the 2024 statewide elections to be more difficult this year for Republicans.
Alford, who represents Missouri's 4th Congressional District, said with a measure legalizing abortion on the ballot, he expects that election will be similar to Kansas in 2022. That election mobilized more Democratic voters, especially after Kansans defeated a measure that would have made it possible to restrict abortion rights.
