This version wasn't made for Ultraviolence, this version gives me Paradise/Born To Die vibes. If West Coast was one of my favourite songs of Lana, this version reached the #1 so far!
This could be a perfect ending for Ultraviolence (Deluxe).
As far as I know, this is actually the final track for the German, Swiss, and Austrian versions
I love how DARK the West Coast on Ultraviolence is, its just so interesting to see that this was her first take on one of my fav songs 💝

This one is something special.
I like this better than the original because I feel like you can hear more of Lana in this version. I think it has a more personal touch to it. But that is just my opinion.
Jamaal Rainey actually the opposite. Lana fought to get the released one on the album. She said the song slows down to reflect the mental state she was in. The released one is way more personal because she made even the beat and tempo really personal.

I think original is great. I also think this mix is great. They just have their own greatness at different times.
The original is more inventive with the tempo change. This is more conventional, but the chorus really slaps on this one. I love them both.

I saw someone say this on TikTok and it sums this up perfectly. West Coast feels like a summers night and the radio mix feels like a summers day. Both are amazing.

I'm pretty sure that's the first version Lana came up with... i remember reading something about Lana not liking West Coast at first, and then when Dan Auerbach got unto Ultraviolence he "gave the fire to the song".
