Let me find out Julia’s Puerto Rican (pots in the oven) 😂… lol if you don’t know for some strange reason many Puerto Ricans store pots and pans in their oven don’t ask me why my mom did it my grandmother did it and I am guilty I do it too 😅 j/k I know when you live in tiny spaces any unutilized space becomes storage until it is needed again.
We used to keep an old blanket, rolled up, and if there was hail like that, we would throw the blanket over to the solar panels. It saved our solar panels many of times. 🦋
hi Julia, during a thunderstorm the safest place to be is inside a car, if thunder hit the vehicle nothing would happen, energy would dissipate to the land, the car would just be an energy driver. I hope you understood, I don't speak English, be safe 😘
Another great video, Julia. I've often wondered about vans (i.e. tincans) in a lightning storm. I feel better actually that you were more terrified by the hail than getting struck. Also, I have to ask a rhetorical question-Maui will be flying with you back East, yes?
Yes! So if lightening DID strike the van, the electrical system would be toast & it wouldn't run anymore but Maui & I would still be alive as long as we don't touch the metal! Since it's build out inside, there's not much exposed metal. & Yes he will be flying with me! It will be a very interesting experience😅
We are in an El Neno weather phase. We will be having crazy weather all over for a while. ... There are more and more food shortages by the day, and it is expected to get MUCH worse. Even water shortages. It is of utmost importance to stay stocked up as much as you can and not run so low on food or water. Stash food everywhere you can find in those vans. Freeze dried foods are light weight, store a lot in a small space, and don't need refrigeration. One van lifer the other day said she managed to get a 6 month food supply stashed in hers. Get a water filter, even if it is just a Life Straw. Can use when you can't get water. Get prepared. Don't regret.
@JuliaBrooke You are welcome. I just saw awhile ago that the West coast is shutdown from shipping produce, groceries and stuff. From California up through Washington. Big strike plus bad weather. Showed a picture of semis full of rotting produce lined up and just sitting there refusing to move. So sad. Have a good upcoming week! Both of you.
Hey I have another suggestion, if you add a grat above the solar panel to protect it, will it affect it from absorption of the sunshine? If not, it will protect from hail in the future. You just need to find someone to help you install it, someone that knows welding. Just a suggestion.
I was wondering about solar panels with bad weather. I wouldn't have them. I can't even go travel in my newer jeep yet because I don't want hail damage although the top can't get damage and it's a 2 door so not much to damage 😂
Listening to the Swan Lake Pas de Quatre, I just started to wonder if you ever look to see what kind of theater/culture/etc. you can take advantage of while you are in or near a new city?
I could sense your stressed-out emotions at the hailstorm, and I kept talking to you (like you could hear me) 😬 I kept saying, "Calm down girl, it's gonna be ok, just a little thunder and hail. Maui, tell your mom to calm down." You did the right thing by cranking up the music and drowning out the sounds of the storm. 🔉 Just remember to calm down... calm down. Isn't that a song? 🎶That banana oatmeal mush bread you made looked really good. I'm glad you like to use your oven. I'm happy you and Madilynn decided to stay together travelling to Washington. Have a storm and stress-free week. I'm hoping that the bad weather you and Madilynn experienced is gone. 🌤 🌞 😸
Hey Julia! So glad you made it through the storm with no damage! It's really unnerving when lightning hits so close and that intense, wow! Your banana bread actually seemed like it was gonna be good even before you tried it, I thought the oatmeal was a good addition. I've been known to come up with a few concoctions of my own, usually with success. I like your choice of music by the way! ☺
Try Bisquick rather than flour. It is much more versatile and I can use it for, literally, any recipe I might dream up while traveling/camping. There are tons of recipes online as well. Glad you both survived the storm, thank you for sharing ❤
I'm about to start traveling in my van soon. I thought alot about what I'd do in a hail storm. If I was in a town, I think I'd look for a car wash and park in it to ride out the storm. I know that wouldn't work in your situation, because you're far from town. But maybe an idea if it ever happens again, and you're close to town.
I recommend a barbecue lighter. They're long and slim, u just light it and hold it against that long part that u want to light up then turn on the gas. Gas Ignitions are finicky as heck.
Hi Julia, I enjoy following all of your adventures here on your channel. I wanted to share a couple of baking channels with you that are my favorites. These ladies bake easy, healthy, no flour, no sugar recipes that are yummy and consist of just a few basic ingredients. I thought while you are on the road some of these recipes would be ideal for you. I hope you're having a wonderful time where ever you may be. xo www.youtube.com/@wiemanalle & www.youtube.com/@Magda_Cooks

I absolutely love storms in fact years ago I chased storms. However, having lightning that close is scary and I'm glad you both are ok!! ❤❤❤

Hailing... is like raining stones. It damaged your van roof. Good nothing bad happens to your solar... Be safe...🙏🙏
It's called hail stones lol 😂
I love all ur baked goods!!! im so lucky hehehe 💟 glad we got out of that storm alive 😅
I love baking them🥹❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Use Crack me up lol 😂
I sometimes use oat flour, which is just blended up oats, when making banana bread. The flavors compliment eachother
It’s Freakin raining everywhere! Stuck in Buena vista area between storms here also. Ugh! No horrible lightning here yet though!

There’s no need to mansplain, she’s got this :)
Ah good.. I had the same series.. I was hoping it was good. Hail can certainly be scary, especially in a van.
Some times the weather will follow u when u try to get away from it having lightning close is scary I'm glad your ok
Do u have Google chat

Yikes that lightening bolt was close & you caught it with your video good job & sorry it must have been quite scarey 😱. Stay safe 🙏

Cool on the banana bread🎉 please be safe and if advanced notice on hail storm try to find a place to park under any kind of shelter.
😂
Pea size hail isn't going to hurt anything & the tires on your van are going to protect you from the lightning.
Oh my
Another good video Julia. Have a safe trip home. Glad your van didn't get hail damage. One question. How did Maui get his name? I'm just curious.
No I love this question! I was going to name him "Mau" because he's part Egyptian Mau & my boyfriend suggested Maui🙏🏼❤️
Love you in my heart.❤❤ban
yeah, hail is incredibly loud in a van
Haha. I believe that is called baked oatmeal. Glad it turned out 🎉
Hey pretty girl , the banana bread looks really delish ! Great job

Sadly my van is too tall to fit in car washes, parking garages and drive throughs🥲
@Julia Brooke 😲 even the self wash one's? Idk what kind yall have up where you're at. All the ones I've seen in the south, are tall enough for semis.
Awesome

I've been in a van during a hail storm, it sounds like hell on earth.
Seriously!😭🌨
hope you’re okay🫧
Just love u love your videos you are an awesome person I know ❤

Don’t be gross
❤❤❤
Yes cats can eat bananas but in moderation.... Love you can live videos... Your so adorable ❤❤❤
Hii should have protection shield love ur videos from india
cata can eat bananas but is not recommended cuz theyre hithh i. sugar + you added a ton of sugar in the oat bar slice bread thing 😭💗
This is the reason why i have a ambulance instead of a van.
Cats can eat bananas in moderation.
But becareful of spices and sweeteners that may be toxic for them. 🙂
2 👍👍 up beautiful y'all stay safe out there 🤞💕🥾🇺🇸🍼 🐈😺
😊☕️🍫💞🌹🫡🌹🌹
What if you parked under a tree..maybe it'd lessen the damage???? Idk😮
I care!😊😊 hunger games 😮
