David Ragen has always been pretty good at restricter plate racing, he’s just come up just short, wrecked or his car just wasn’t good enough, like he finished 3rd at the coke 400& finished in the top 10 at Dega this year. Same with Gilliland, if they both had better cars they could probably both make the chase

Only three times has Front Row won a race; all three, with different drivers on different 2.5+mile tracks, were by the 34 car as Michael McDowell took the 2021 Daytona 500

Ideas for part two:
-Austin Dillon winning this year at Charlotte (shame it always comes down to a fuel race, but it's a part of racing)
-jerry nadeau at Atlanta in 2000
-Alan Kulwicki winning the 1992 title (the ultimate underdog story imho)
-Stenhouse's win at Daytona this year (just about everyone thought his Dega win was a fluke. Think he, and many others in the top 10, were all underdogs at Daytona.)
-if counting other circuits, you could count Danica's win at Twin Ring in IRL sure, another fuel mileage race, but an underdog win nonetheless

Main one that comes to mind is Donny Lia's truck win at Mansfield. Oh and also Jody Ridley's win at Dover in 1981, that was the only win for Junie Donlavey in like 50 years as a car owner.
