What a refreshing video!! Thank you for the solid suggestions!!!
I love you sharing what Christmas means to your family. You are a blessing and inspiration.
It is refreshing to see someone who is getting their kids normal amount of presents. Makes us who cant get their kids 50 presents not feel so bad
I hope you or anyone who reads this never feels bad about this. I would wholeheartedly rather receive one thoughtful gift than 50 random gifts any day❤.
Thank you for such a realistic Christmas gift video!
My daughter got the Barbie with the puppies last year. She still loves it.
At the end of the day it’s up to you what you get for your kids and you shouldn’t have to be worried about being judged for that! Christmas isn’t just about gifts, for me it’s about spending time with family, eating good food and being grateful for everything I have. I love watching my family members opening up the gifts I give them more than anything else, it’s very special ❤
Your children are so lucky, they will love their gifts , it is plenty for them. When I was young we got 1 toy and a stocking and believe me we were thrilled.
💜💜💜
I am sorry some people say rude things that your kids are not getting enough. I always watch these videos in wonder and think how do they do that much for so many children. You love your children so much and that shows. God bless you all and Merry Christmas! Thanks for all the awesome homeschool Mom tips through the years too. I have one son who has Autism -- and he is the best, but every once in a while I feel burned out or tired and you always smile and have the best, common sense filled, practical ideas here. I do not need the latest gadgets and a million dollars to give him a great education! You tell me that when I need to hear it.
Wow
I have been waiting on this video all year! You have THE best “what I got my kids” videos. I get so many ideas and guidance from these videos. They’re so personal to your kids and I’m very thankful that you do them!
That disclaimer at the beginning made me laugh. I wrap my kids gifts as soon as they arrive home. My girls like that loom thing but those elastics get everywhere. I always get them books and audio books for gifts so isn't all toys.
Our biggest Christmas was the Covid year as well! I was just thinking about that the other day and wondering if it was the same for others. Love your minimal gifting.
Mario Party is a real family hit in our home. I dont like to play any except that one.❤
Love this video!! I love the ideas! Thanks for sharing ❤️❤️
My 4 year old boy all things truck WITH trailers this year! And my 6 year old girl is very into polly pocket ! We had a lot of similarities in shopping this year!!!
that’s what my 4 year old boy wants too!!! trucks with trailers
So cute, 4 is one of my favorite ages!
That pizza kitchen amazing! It's one of me kids favorite things! He will love it!!! 🎄
❤❤❤❤❤love the gifts
You are very blessed to have that big of a family.
Thank you!
I think the gifts you got for your children are wonderful.
Thank you 💜
Awesome gift ideas!! Your kiddos will be so happy :)
To me (single working mum of 7) that looks like quite a good amount.
My budget is £600 on presents this year for my kids, (that's between £50 and £100 per child, depending on their age + £10 per stocking.)
Fun! Thanks for sharing:) we gifted that very same chess set last Christmas to our son and it has held up really well! It's awesome bc each chess and checkers piece have a spot, so its easy to make sure all of the pieces are away before putting it in the cupboard. We do just a small amount of gifts too, and it works well for us that way too:)
Thanks for the tip on the chess set!
Great gifts
we only got 1-3 gifts i think that is very reasonable thank God for blessings
Thanks for sharing these gift ideas! 😁
I think you found some great items! Just the right amount 😊
Looking forward to your stocking stuffer video, as stockings are often the hardest for me. I hate to fill them with wasteful things that will be forgotten or lost in a day or two!
💜💜💜
Great gift ideas, thanks for sharing! I have 6 kids too, and can relate to how challenging it can be to come up with ideas for so many kids 😄
You are awesome
Love the chess set
We have 7 kids (6 boys, 1 girl) and have changed how we do birthdays and Christmas, in regards to gifts. We started noticing our kids would play with or use whatever they would receive for a very short time and then no further interest. I have given away and tossed soooo many things over the years (mostly from grandparents who spoil endlessly), because they would just add clutter and stress. We downsized to a tote of Legos, which is what my boys play with almost exclusively every single day, and one basket of other random toys. In fact, they never even care when I go through and purge our toys anymore, as long as it's not the Legos 😂 So, for birthdays, we no longer give material gifts, we give experiences. For Christmas, we do one big family gift and some goodies in stockings. I have learned my kids largely don't care about toys or "things", they want the time and experiences together. Other than that, I give them one minimal basket for Easter and Halloween they all share together. If they need clothes or books, etc, I simply get it for them when the need arises. Not only does it help keep our focus on the Savior, it has greatly reduced my stress during the season, and we spend so much less. And we simply just enjoy it more; watching movies, playing outside, and baking treats together. I know that doesn't work for everyone, but I am so grateful for my kiddos and their simple love for Legos and the outdoors ☺️
We have had a very similar experience! We also do experiences for birthdays. Every year I try to simplify our Christmas even more. If you are willing to share an example of a family gift for Christmas, I would love to know 😊
@@shannaebooth This year we decided on a Nintendo switch. We chose this because we have somewhat strict limits on video games and wanted it to be more of a family activity with games we could all play together. For future years, we've thrown around ideas like a foosball table, or, if we save enough, an ATV of some sort to pull them around on a sled in the winter and help with chores the rest of the year. Maybe a big sectional couch we can all fit on (we only have a tiny hand-me-down sofa from a friend right now 😂) This will be the first year we implement the family gift idea, so each year it will depend a lot on what our budget looks like.
@@alyshaschmidt535we have strict limits on video games/technology as well...but this year we got a Nintendo Wii we found on the Facebook marketplace. So now on Friday nights we have family Pizza and Mario Cart/Wii Sports night. We all look forward to it! 😊
"I'm sure these things will be all over the house " 😂😂 Ain't that the truth with all those little loom bands! These are all such great ideas, friend!
🤣🤣🤣
Thanks friend!
I live that your friends kids *could* be watching your video 😂😍
🤣🤣🤣 true story! Lol several family friends watch.
Lol that’s really sweet! And love the minimal gifts 🙌🏼 especially with 6 kids, because you know they’ll be playing with each other’s things too haha
So many great ideas! Thank you! We have five kids and also like to keep it simple. Otherwise it’s overwhelming
with all the extended family gifts too. Curious, do your children buy gifts for each other? My kids are getting to an age where they want to surprise each other too-BUT- so much stuff!! :D
Yes! They actually draw names to see who they get to buy for. It makes it fun!
I have a 13 year old- super hard to buy for! 😅🎉😊
I find that he appreciates whatever I give him so I’m definitely grateful for that. 😊
Why not ask he or she what they want. You should know their interests already
@@katemiller7874I have one who just says “I don’t know” when asked what he wants. That’s the case for a lot of people’s kids.
Amen, let celebrate Jesus.
Got a homeschool kiddo how do I help her learn to write her name an remember her alphabet an numbers
Consistent repetition is really a huge help in that area! We do lots of songs with letters, numbers, and phonics sounds as well.
To help her learn to write her name. Print her name on paper on laminate it so she can trace over it with a dry erase marker and then erase it so she can reuse it to keep practicing
Thank you I'll try this
It’s sad you even have to explain anything about how many gifts etc. but thanks for the great ideas!
Umm I’m sorry but Jesus was most certainly born in December on Christmas Day that’s why we celebrated Christmas his birth
We don't really know for sure. There is compelling evidence that Jesus was conceived in mid December and born mid September. Others believe that He was conceived in March and born in December. But as it isn't expressly said in the Word, we don't know for sure. I'm sure happy that He was born though and we cam celebrate every day!
Why would you even chance posting something like this and ruin your kids holiday??? So strange!
