Gwyndolin is my personal favorite boss, and seeing him always getting wrecked the few times he shows up in boss vs boss videos always makes me low key upset, because lore wise, he's one of the strongest people alive, mentally and physically. Honestly, I feel bad for him, but damn is he weak in game!
To be fair , he beats A LOT of the bosses in a 1v1 in game too. Artorias is just one of the few in DS1 who has the damage, health and mobility needed to basically blitz Gwyndolin

There is no dark damage in Dark Souls 1 and the Remaster. There is only fire, magic and lightning. To be resistant to dark, you have to be resistant to magic. In resisting magic, you also resist dark. If somebody overhauled DS1 then we could get Dark as an independent damage type.
I remember the one video in which Priscilla is chasing gwyndolinwith this anime music. Artorias was the only one to beat him so this video isn't a surprise at all. End my suffering

Why Gwyndolin's most powerful attack do not do damage at all (or nearly no damage)?
Artorias has high resistance to magic.
