I'm back guys! I hope 1 hour 21 minutes makes up for the lack of uploads. Actually, I wasn't even initially planning such a long video but once I got to Greece I realized I couldn't ONLY show you Athens, so I had this extremely ambitious idea to take you guys all over Greece (islands) and see what we can find! This long of a video won't be the norm, however, if I find a destination that seems like it could use a long one, then I'll definitely do it. But do expect the norm to be 20-30 minutes that won't take nearly as long to come out. I finally feel normal again traveling so I'm happy to be back out here! Let me know how you guys like this video, this has been my biggest project to date!
As a Greek I have to tell you that the prices for tourists like you are very honest. Even the Greeks do not get them at a much lower price, and for this reason the bargain did not work to the fullest
As a Greek guy, i have to tell you it took me 40 years to discover the market in Agia Varvara (aka Santa Barbara aka "Santa") and you found it in your first trip in Greece, good job Collin!!! Great video!!!
Honestly in the tourist markets of the cities you visited ( Athens, Chania etc ) I was expecting some of the sellers to be willing to overprice you, as I’ve seen it happen many times here (as a local). But the majority of the sellers were actually honest, which caught me by surprise, given that the country lives from tourism. It’s a special feeling to see my country explored, more so from a RUclipsr that I’ve spent god know how much time watching his videos. Keep it up🔥 P.S: Bargaining is a thing here, but it’s definitely not in the level of the middle Eastern markets👍🏼
I'm from Greece, and I can assure you that the prices were legit. You were not overcharged at all being a tourist. In fact, all of these items were cheaper a few months ago, but because of inflation, everything has become a lot more expensive. But some products, like the Fjällraven bags, the prices were more than ok. Normally these bags cost up to 80 euros in nominal department stores or the multinational chain stores here.
As a Greek and although a bit late, this was an awesome video. I got to explore parts of my country I had never before. And that with great cinematography, great vibe and commentary. Kudos to you guys! Definately subscribing.
@@CollinAbroadcast About the rental car issue which got the scratch in Mykonos, I thought of telling you that maybe try choosing Dark colored cars like Black so it can be less noticeable next time when causing any sort of damage. Let me know your opinion since it can save your money next time you wanna rent a car 😅
@@farhaanismail7142 That is a good idea. We didn't get to pick the color but we were just happy that it was automatic. In the end 50 euros wasn't so much. There are a lot of dirt roads in Mykonos that people use a lot if only we didn't get off the main paved road we should have been fine. It took was one bump. Just always make sure you have full insurance when renting a car especially in Europe.
The salesperson who says, 'this has a zip that will pop open after 10 unzips', ot 'this bag will split open on the second day and you will lose your stuff' wont get far in business.
If you talk to a lot of people who don't speak a lot of English, it's very common that they have certain phrases that they say a lot. They have a few things they know how to say... I'm guessing they can speak enough English to sell basic items to tourists, but aren't fluent enough to say a different phrase about every single item he points at.
Showing off different countries and the deals you can make is great and all, but I really admire and enjoy how you spend time to build a rapport with the sales people/locals so everyone comes away feeling like a winner
This is your best work yet. I like the bargaining, but watching you geek out on travel is super authentic and really cool. Your camera work and editing has really taken on a signature style. Great job!
Really enjoyed this style where you include some of the sights and things you are doing aside from just the market bargaining. This was an awesome video, I hope you make more in this style.
One day I'll visit beautiful Greece but until then I live through your videos! Can you do some food snaps too in these bargain videos cause the food looks amazing!
Such an amazing video! I've watched you for the bargaining for years, but this was something special! I live on Greece and loved every second of this video and loved the fact that it was so long even more! Worth every second honestly! Hope you had a great time here in Greece!
If you go back to Greece in the summer you'll be blown away, such a beautiful place and beautiful people. Crete - Chania will be a LOT busier, Rethymnon in between Chania and Heraklion is really cool in places for fakes (handbags mainly on the front) and Heraklion is like Athens.

The "giving" of the bracelets is common thing in Europe. I also encountered this in Florence, Italy. They "give" you a bracelet and then they want money.
As a general rule of thumb, if anybody approaches you in the street when you're traveling, say 'no thank you' and walk on. Don't look, don't listen. Whatever they're offering is likely to lead you into a situation where you think, 'how did I get into this situation?'
