Fab video Heidi, thanks so much! I always wanted to be an archaeologist but never got past being told to dig the garden 😄 Later I wanted to run a pub and did so for 12 years. Loved it. Now I'm a full time unpaid carer for my poor old mum who's got dementia. Toughest job ever. Your videos help me stay cheerful xxx
Wanted to join the RN but parent wouldn't sign the form when I left school. Ended up teaching, beginning in prisons and ended up doing woodwork with adults with special educational needs. Main achievement was helping a partially sighted wheelchair user make a coffee table. Very rewarding way to spend my time.
I always wanted to be in 'showbiz'. Started dancing lessons at 4 years old...qualified with honours at 16. The smell of the grease paint & the dazzle of the footlights beckoned. Summer seasons, Panto's to gain experience & then the West End & Television, wonderful times with fabulous people but it is a very short career span so retired from the stage in my early 30's to follow my second dream of being a Flight Attendant...flew for over 12 years, wonderful times but moved from the 'air' to the sea to complete my circle of dreams of life onboard a Cruise Ship. Wow, I have been so very lucky. Now happily retired with my 2 gorgeous rescue dogs Archie & Winnie ( my babies, my world ). Would I do it all again, in a heartbeat. Never give up on your dreams & always believe in yourself. Much love from me & the 'babies'. We love your channel & gorgeous Bonnie. X
It would be great if more kids were motivated like Jake. A sense of community and achievement as well as working with people that can pass on skills. Awesome.
There are hundreds of kids actively working within communities to improve better well being .. my own daughters, serving in the military and within the civil service help coordinate such projects, we have to remind ourselves that the media promote the other side of life, sadly the good side is overshadowed by this, thanks to channels like this and other inside social media we get to hear of it, it never fails to amaze me that we are slow to recognise the brilliance of our younger generation. They’re are out there… take care.
@@thoughtsonnarrowboatingwit3882 You are quite right and I love it that many kids are community minded, I know quite a few myself. Wouldn't it also be great if the taggers etc could also be diverted into community projects and learn skills. ..... and I wish the media would show more positive stories and articles I don't think that they would regret it. The saying is bad news sells more but have they tried good news? Take care =-)
Heidi, We loved this video. Great like always. Here is a little ditty..Let me tell you about the Rum Wench Heidi, she keeps her rear entrance very tidy. The VLogs of her travels with Bonny will brighten your mood, she puts out on Thursdays ...don't be rude!
I wanted to join the Navy, but met my husband at 16, so that went out of the window! We had two great children, boy and girl which fulfilled my life and now we have 4 grandchildren. Love them so much. Life doesn't always take you to what you expect, but the benefits of a family are truly amazing 😃😃
Hi Heidi, what a great idea renovating boats for veterans and a super job jake has. I wanted to be a veterinary nurse, but my dad said people need me more so I went into nursing, enjoyed my career, nursed in South Africa for 2yrs. I've had probably one of the more varied careers - worked in a Circus (ring foreman/trapeze rigger and performer), then worked as a croupier in casinos for 13 years, working my way up to managerial level. Got tired of that, went to university and got a Bsc(Hons) in an engineering/manufacturing degree, and then went on to work in IT support before finally working in colleges and secondary schools as an HLTA for a couple of decades. Now retired and enjoying my astronomy when the weather permits. What did I want to be when I was a kid? A geologist!
Another brilliant blog sis. I have Big Respects for Jake and the team they do a fantastic job. Don’t laugh I wanted to be a vicar when I left school lol. Please take care of you and Bonny, stay safe sweetheart. Love you both xxxx
I wanted to be a writer because I was always that kid with my nose in a book. I don’t want to be that anymore, but now I express my creativity with arts and crafts!
I always dreamed of being a ballerina. Well , after “dancing “ from patient to patient in my 41 years of nursing, I’m satisfied where life has taken me ❤️
What a great charity, I hope they do well.👍 I wanted to be an artist "not a proper job" or indeed an astronaut which apparently "wasn't for girls" according to my career advisor at school... ended up in the late 1980s as a stubborn spotty teenager joining the WRNs instead. Luckily this was just the right time as soon after we became ordinary sailors and went off to sail the world. Did that for 12 years then left the RN and came ashore to be an engineer for 20 more years. Now I potter about on a poultry farm part time and lark about with my Jack Russell and motorhome. Just enjoy the easy life now, glad to have done these things but still wonder about what it would be like in space. 🤣
When I was about 8 or 9 years old I really liked reading ahead in the schoolroom's science books; I remember deciding that I wanted to become a scientist, and so I did.
When I was growing up, I always wanted to work on the railways. I realised my dream when I was only 16. Pity it only lasted for 5 years before I joined the army for the next 10 years
Hi Heidi, we’re now moored up at Sandon and heading to Great Haywood tomorrow. I wanted to be a lorry driver and then an air stewardess, then a teacher, did a joint honours degree when I was 40 and now I’m self employed as a cleaner 😂 Just having a g&t so cheers 🥂
When I was young I wanted to be a train driver. Reality set in when leaving school, so finished up working in a bank for 42yrs but throughout that time and now still have an interest in railways.
I dreamed of becoming a musician, and that's what I am. The strange part about living your dreams is that it makes a lot of other people you know un-happy with you. I suppose there's always a yin to every yang. LOL Thanks for the wonderful vlogs, Heidi.
Hello Heidi! Just came across your channel this week and subscribed after 3 videos. I really enjoy your attitude, confidence, music and humor. Thank you for making great content. You’re charmed life is as good as it gets. Bottoms up young lady. 🥃
When I was a girl I wanted to be a carpenter or an architect. My dad built his own boats and I was his trade assistant. In Australia during the 1970s girls weren’t encouraged to do a trade. I did join the Army at 17, and became a cartographer. I continued to work with timber as a hobby. I always made things for our children from timber ie billycarts, games etc. at the young age of 50 I studied to be a home designer. Woohoo! Now I am retired and spend my time travelling Australia with my husband, carving coconut shell, wooden puppets and characters. Oh and watching all the narrow boat vlogs.
As a teen I used to watch Mogul The Trouble Shooters. It was about the international oil industry and guys jet setting (showing my age there) around the world to fix things. That was my idea of the best possible life imaginable. And fantastically lucky that is exactly what I ended up doing. I loved it, lots of exotic places, fascinating work, amazing people and more, not to mention the fantastic money. I started in 1974 and retired in 2017. Never out of work but in later years with different companies every few years. I still get opportunities to work, because almost no one else wanted the type of work, and very few of us got the opportunity to get into it. I consider myself to be very lucky.
All I wanted to do as a kid was sing! Alas - whilst I had a wonderful time singing with amateur groups, it wouldn't have brought in any money. Next best thing was to work in libraries. That's what I did for many years. Now I work from home proofreading books for various publishing companies and love every minute of it.
We were at Market Bosworth moored two weeks ago! That is a long walk up into the town. I always dreamt of living on a narrow boat after a childhood and teens going on the canals twice a year. Now I skipper my parents every year for their canal boat holiday on the Ashby. Amazing to see you making it happen. If you ever need a cook and lock crew, I’m your person.
hiya flower, when i left school i wanted to be a chef this was back in the 60 because i could not speak another lingo that was knocked on the head, second choice was a car mechanic as i was no good at maths that was blown out of the water, so i left school on the friday started work on the milk as a roundsman assistant at six am monday morning.
I always wanted to be involved with ships and steam locomotives. So I joined the Canadian Navy and spent 36 years in the Navy. One of my postings was to work in England so I trained on steam locomotives at the Blue Bell Railway and volunteered on the Leighton Buzzard Narrow Gauge railway, for several years. So Heidi if you are on the GU canal stop at Leighton Buzzard and have a STEAM RIDE.. We also bought a 1/4 share in a narrow boat and spent 8 or 9 weeks on it for 17 years, so I saw many of the places you've been on with your travels. Love your weekly blog. Safe travels...John Land Victoria BC Canada
I always say 'what is the rush' and everyone looks at me weirdly. The world is in a rush yet they end up getting there the same time I do. I didn't have any goals growing up I was told that I needed to go to college. Got a degree and realized I liked working with my hands. Moved to the sticks since I was 25. I have a small farm and enjoy myself every day for the past 49 years. Nice that you enjoy life as much as I do.
When someone tries to rush me, my standard response is that I won't be late for tomorrow. Can't recall where I first heard that, but thought it was a good 'un.
That’s a great opening line. Excuse me can I split your difference? Don’t be rude! 😬 My Bonny lies over the ocean. My Bonny lies over the sea. It’s Heidi and Bonny together that bring a big smile to me! 😂🤪😇❤
There was a young pirate called Heidi Who was having a terrible Friday With stiff locks. Wet socks. And no rum to toast her crew. Heidi was in a right old stew. from stuart s
I wanted to be a pilot in the RAF but im colour blind and couldn't do that, i also wanted to paint but that dream was skuppered to for the same reason. Never mind, retired now. ❤
Hi Heidi - I always wanted to travel, but my plans were put on hold when i became a family carer to my son 28 years ago. He will be moving into a care home soon and my adventures will begin. Looking forward to dancing the night away with you at Unity '24. All good wishes, Jan x
I wanted to be a pilot to make my Dad happy, so got my license via a partial scholarship (frozen ATPL/IR) and then realised that it really aint for me (undiagnosed ADHD, not good in the cockpit!). Rebooted with an extra tenner YTS course working in an oil industry, cleaning a warehouse floor and now work as a Superintendent on big oil tankers on behalf of the major oil companies, blending together millions of dollars of oil at a time :D Happy days....
I love your films so great! I’m an oldie and I was a dreamer and I teach babies now I’m living the dream! One day I would love to do something arty on a boat and be able to make a living from my artistic talent as a painter! I would love to be near to nature and live life sloooww ☺️😊♥️🥰🥰
Great video again. I always wanted to be a secretary when I was young but now I schedule imaging tests for a hospital near where I live but next week I’m changing positions to schedule home care visits. Excited for the change. Bonny looks adorable. Way to go Jake for volunteering to help veterans!!!! Keep up the great work Heidi. Always look forward to Thursday’s❤️🏴☠️😊
I wanted to be a farmer. I wanted to marry my childhood sweetheart and I would have the Ferguson tractor, of my childhood. Now, 50+ years later, my ❤ still feels the same.
I didn’t get to be a battlefield guide, however I got to to be a docent at a coal museum and that was as a volunteer talking the history of anthracite coal in Pennsylvania and a little about immigrant miners so at least I got to enjoy that for a year and half. Found out later in life I have Asperger’s syndrome so trying to get a history degree became a sysaphean task proved too much. So now I’m the Sexton at my church 😊
Hiya I have finally written a ditty for you . Hope you like it. Love the videos. Rach x There once was a wench called Heidi Who patrolled the English cut First mate Bonny down below A cute boat loving mutt They cruise the inland waterways Trading goods for pirate gold And every Thursday afternoon Their adventure is being told
Like yourself, Heidi travel and adventure is all I wanted. I did eventually end up in northern Colorado where I’ve been for about 23 years. I love watching your vlogs, Heidi you do a great job! Happy travels to you and Bonnie!
Always wanted to be a teacher, and was one for 27 yrs. I retired, got bored, went to work at a university health clinic for 10 yrs. Retired again, got bored, went to work for Apple for 5 years. I’m now bored, but I am determined not to flunk retire, again. 😂😂
I wanted to be a carpenter when I grew up. Then I became a drinker with a sailing problem. LOL. I joined the US Navy and saw the world. From north of Alaska to South of Australia. From the east coast of the US to Kenya Africa, and all places in between. Europe and Russia are our next adventures. I'd love to be on the canal bank and see you sailing past.
I always wanted to be a chef, but after setting fire to the cooker (twice) and having the skill to cremate peas, moved into IT as there was less chances of actual fire
Oh Heidi, your cheerful patter makes me smatter and now I’m all growed up. If I were young again, I wouldn’t waste time in vain and live my best life chuck xx
You need to get Bonny a rain jacket. We have one for our little dog. She hate the rain but will go right out and do her business if she has her jacket on. It will go over a harness and has a little slit that the ring on the harness will go through is you want to attach a leash.
She has a jumper but I will get her a coat too 😂 but it’s her feet she hates getting wet … she is getting a little better though now - we just don’t know her history bless her ❤️
The one we have is a poncho type with a hood. Our girl is the same. She doesn't like to get her feet wet.. We have a towel hanging by the back door we throw over her to dry her off and then wipe her feet when she comes in. Bonny is such a sweetheart. I'm sure she is a great comfort for you to have her on board.
Hiya Heidi, I only recently stumbled across your videos. I think there great and fun too..Also quite educational at times. Keep up the good work. From Robin your cousin..
Oh my goodness I just spit my drink out ohh how funny we use the same terminology "split your difference " and "show me yours and I'll show you mine" with Mad Dog or any smuggled drink ohh dear still laughing now 😆 😅😊 Take care From Doncaster P.s I wanted to be a Graphic Designer ....now a crafter lol 😂
Hi Heidi enjoyed the video the two working boats were great i always wanted to be a Heavy goods driver never could afford the lessons. 😢 missed Rosie and Jim were they having fun in their cabin. 😂😂
Ahoy!!! Sharing my first brew with you and Bonny. Growing up I was always dreaming of being the next Carol Burnett or Benny Hill. Even though that didn't happen due to falling in love etc .. I've had the most beautiful life and now have more dreams of becoming a full time Pirate. I just ordered the book you just received to train my grands for adventure no matter what arises in life. Great video again ❤❤❤
Just watching this latest video👍, I wanted be either a farmer as grew up around farming in our family blood or Indiana jones as explorer after watching his first film when was young, did neither started as diesel engine mechanic for 12 years then after that an online retailer which still do now,
I'm heading up your end Mrs. I'll pop over at some point. I'm living my dream. Not working and cruising is everything to me. Exploring new waters is always exciting. Ta ra Mrs. I'm certainly sticking my fildy fumb up..😂❤🫵👍👍
I’ve just watched you do teddington … scary stuff - you made me howl at the beginning when you said about it being tower bridge and not London Bridge … I wouldn’t have had a clue, but when you take the Micky it makes me howl 😂😂 it’s that voice 😂😂
Wanted to be a librarian or an anthropologist but instead life happened and became a nurse! Now am retired and having the time of my life! My next career is Narrowboating!
Hi Heidi......another great video (as usual!) Interesting to learn you were a teacher, which is obviously a busy, people focused career. When you started boat life, were you lonely and if so how long did that feeling last? How did you become "un-lonely"?
I still don’t know what I want to be even though I’ve been retired for eight years. 😂 just kidding!Actually I always wanted to be an artist. I do paint and sketch though not professionally. I just do it for my own pleasure and satisfaction so I guess I fulfilled my dreams. Cheers to you and Bonny.
Always watch your vlogs which I thoroughly enjoy. I always have a drink with you albeit a brandy or whisky. Sorry I'm hopeless at ditties. But enjoy listening to you read them. Take care. Love to you and Bonny.
After a frustrating morning - not helped by dusty roadworks! Taking five and catching up ( relaxing) - with your news❤ Money and small town = not much work wise but did my degree as a mature aged student😊 One recent adventure was a self drive (own car) six week road trip (5,000 kms) SA-VIC - TASMANIA ( 4+ weeks) road trip with my daughter (70+&50+). We had our moments! but mostly it was fun, adventure and special memories Jan Adelaide S.A
Crusing down was peaceful to watch, i wanted to be successful and have a family i dont have both but i enjoy exploring and photography. When you go to moor up do u need to cut the engine to pull the boat closer or does it come in Easier the sign said 2 days does that mean u need to move on after that.
I can’t cut my engine until I’m moored up as I’m single handed so no one to hold it while I go inside to stop it have a look at the 2 Q&A videos in the description as I cover all the mooring rules etc there
I do enjoy your videos. I look forward to watching it as I eat breakfast on Friday mornings. Not so chilly here this morning (9°c) but still lighting my fire at night. (Yeah! free(ish) hot water saves the power pill). Keep hoping Spring will come! Cheers, off to our Friday market and another coffee.
PS I wanted to be an astronaut! But I couldn't do physics, shite eye sight and not an American. But I have explored parts of New Zealand, UK (canal-ways❤) and Europe on my bicycle 🚲. Loved it!
My first hire boat in 2007 was called "Ashby" from the Ashby Boat Company on the Ashby canal and there it is at 07:03. Made my day seeing her again. Although I don't remember it having a side hatch so maybe not the same boat
Favourite bit of this video! " split my difference!" Great! Haven't heard that for years! Someone called me a "twazuck" the other day, I took it as a compliment! Should of seen the look on their face when I thanked them 😂 Haven't heard that word in years! 😅
Upon the tow path Heidi roams, With Bonnie by her side. Let the waters flow, unlock the gate, The Rum Wench has to go! It's time to shift or we'll be late! A rum in hand with baited breath, Comes forth a song of Rum and Death, A pirates life we know. Farewell to tortured souls, they are no more! As love begins anew each day, for life begins once more. Hope you like a little poem. ❤ from Arizona. PS always wanted to be a Ten Towner! Riding ponies to school in the Australian outback!
Never really had dreams of what to be. Just by luck I was asked to work with a carpenter building a house. Realized what I loved doing was working with my hands so.... Music is my love but I never wanted to do it as a job though we do play gigs. Many with no pay and Contra Dances that pay but can't afford to pay much. Just for fun. First snow has come. Less than an inch. Temps at just a klick or 2 below freezing.
I always wanted to be a pilot, as well. I flew for 20 years before losing my medical due to a late discovered genetic aberration. Then I reinvented myself by buying a campground and hot springs in the Gila National Forest, in SW New Mexico. I ran it for 22 years. Sold it last year and am now officially retired!
She can get on and off fine but most of the towpaths are all grass and she hates wet grass 🤣 she needs to get used to it soon as the grass will be wet every day with winter coming

That's my experience too. People who don't pursue their passions or don't have any passion, dislike those of us who do.
As long as you are happy, nothing else matters ❤️
That 1st ditty was precious

Oh wow thanks so much for sharing - you have a wonderful life 😃🏴☠️❤️
As a teen I used to watch Mogul The Trouble Shooters.
How amazing ❤️
@@TheNarrowboatPirate Oh thank you.
Wonderful!
Charming book‼️
I know 😃🏴☠️
We were at Market Bosworth moored two weeks ago!
Haha brilliant … the Ashby is such a great canal 😃❤️
hiya flower, when i left school i wanted to be a chef this was back in the 60 because i could not speak another lingo that was knocked on the head, second choice was a car mechanic as i was no good at maths that was blown out of the water, so i left school on the friday started work on the milk as a roundsman assistant at six am monday morning.
Fabulous
Wonderful ❤️ and thank you
I always say 'what is the rush' and everyone looks at me weirdly.
Fabulous Richard 😄❤️🏴☠️
When someone tries to rush me, my standard response is that I won't be late for tomorrow. Can't recall where I first heard that, but thought it was a good 'un.
That’s a great opening line. Excuse me can I split your difference? Don’t be rude! 😬
My Bonny lies over the ocean. My Bonny lies over the sea. It’s Heidi and Bonny together that bring a big smile to me! 😂🤪😇❤
🤣🤣
There was a young pirate called Heidi
Who was having a terrible Friday
With stiff locks.
Wet socks.
And no rum to toast her crew.
Heidi was in a right old stew. from stuart s
I wanted to be a pilot in the RAF but im colour blind and couldn't do that, i also wanted to paint but that dream was skuppered to for the same reason. Never mind, retired now. ❤
Newcomer here. Sorry it took me so long to find this place. You got a lot of wisdom in those bones and I find it invigorating. I'm on board for more.
Aww welcome and aboard and thank you 😃🏴☠️
I think you are amazing doing what you do. I’m 61 and just about to start out on my narrow boat adventures. Hunting for my perfect boat now.
Awww amazing 😄🏴☠️
My dream as a child was helicopters. Way to expensive in the 80s. I now am a cooper and think its grand. I always love a good piece of wood. Cheers
Hi Heidi - I always wanted to travel, but my plans were put on hold when i became a family carer to my son 28 years ago. He will be moving into a care home soon and my adventures will begin. Looking forward to dancing the night away with you at Unity '24. All good wishes, Jan x
I’ll see you then 😄❤️
I wanted to be a pilot to make my Dad happy, so got my license via a partial scholarship (frozen ATPL/IR) and then realised that it really aint for me (undiagnosed ADHD, not good in the cockpit!). Rebooted with an extra tenner YTS course working in an oil industry, cleaning a warehouse floor and now work as a Superintendent on big oil tankers on behalf of the major oil companies, blending together millions of dollars of oil at a time :D Happy days....
Happiness is everything ❤️
I love your films so great! I’m an oldie and I was a dreamer and I teach babies now I’m living the dream! One day I would love to do something arty on a boat and be able to make a living from my artistic talent as a painter! I would love to be near to nature and live life sloooww ☺️😊♥️🥰🥰
I’ll see you soon 😃🏴☠️
Great video again. I always wanted to be a secretary when I was young but now I schedule imaging tests for a hospital near where I live but next week I’m changing positions to schedule home care visits. Excited for the change. Bonny looks adorable. Way to go Jake for volunteering to help veterans!!!! Keep up the great work Heidi. Always look forward to Thursday’s❤️🏴☠️😊
Wow the job change sounds exciting they say a change is as good as a rest … I hope it all goes well 😄
Thank you. It will be less stressful
I wanted to be a farmer. I wanted to marry my childhood sweetheart and I would have the Ferguson tractor, of my childhood. Now, 50+ years later, my ❤ still feels the same.
Wonderful ❤️
I didn’t get to be a battlefield guide, however I got to to be a docent at a coal museum and that was as a volunteer talking the history of anthracite coal in Pennsylvania and a little about immigrant miners so at least I got to enjoy that for a year and half. Found out later in life I have Asperger’s syndrome so trying to get a history degree became a sysaphean task proved too much. So now I’m the Sexton at my church 😊
Thanks so much for sharing and I really hope you are loving what you are doing 😄🏴☠️
Hiya I have finally written a ditty for you . Hope you like it. Love the videos. Rach x
There once was a wench called Heidi
Who patrolled the English cut
First mate Bonny down below
A cute boat loving mutt
They cruise the inland waterways
Trading goods for pirate gold
And every Thursday afternoon
Their adventure is being told
Fabulous 😃🏴☠️
At 52 I am still looking for ideas for when I grow up.
your going to have to get Bonny some boots, we had them for our Yorkies here Maine love you both always put smile on my old Mug .
Haha she is getting a bit better since I recorded this video as it’s rained so much recently she has had no choice 😂
Like yourself, Heidi travel and adventure is all I wanted. I did eventually end up in northern Colorado where I’ve been for about 23 years. I love watching your vlogs, Heidi you do a great job! Happy travels to you and Bonnie!
Aww thank you and it sounds like you have a wonderful life ❤️
Always wanted to be a teacher, and was one for 27 yrs. I retired, got bored, went to work at a university health clinic for 10 yrs. Retired again, got bored, went to work for Apple for 5 years. I’m now bored, but I am determined not to flunk retire, again. 😂😂
Wonderful 😃
Awwwwe Heidi, Thank you so much. Very kind of you.
Thanks for writing it 😃❤️🏴☠️
I wanted to be a carpenter when I grew up.
Oh wow sounds amazing 😄🏴☠️
I always wanted to be a chef, but after setting fire to the cooker (twice) and having the skill to cremate peas, moved into IT as there was less chances of actual fire
😂😂😂
Awww so lovely to hear from you our Rob and thanks so much for watching 😃🏴☠️
Oh my goodness I just spit my drink out ohh how funny we use the same terminology "split your difference " and "show me yours and I'll show you mine" with Mad Dog or any smuggled drink ohh dear still laughing now 😆 😅😊
Take care
From Doncaster

I wanted to be a space dustman. All that scrap metal floating around up there..😊

Awww thanks and falling in love is the best thing ever 😃😃🏴☠️
Have been watching Inspired by Nature he does some beautiful stuff❤
Lots of laughs there, cheers, Heidi. Long distance lorry driver - trained to be a nurse instead 🙄. Still looking for my boat…. 😐
😄🏴☠️
Just watching this latest video👍, I wanted be either a farmer as grew up around farming in our family blood or Indiana jones as explorer after watching his first film when was young, did neither started as diesel engine mechanic for 12 years then after that an online retailer which still do now,

Hello Heidi i think i have the answer to get Bonny to cross the grass, Make her walk the plank the scurvy Dog😄🤣😄
I'm having a Captain Morgan with you..👍
I'm heading up your end Mrs.
Oooh I’ll see you soon then 😄🏴☠️
Hi Heidi......another great video (as usual!)
Interesting to learn you were a teacher, which is obviously a busy, people focused career.
When you started boat life, were you lonely and if so how long did that feeling last?
How did you become "un-lonely"?
Watch the two Q&A videos in the description as it’s all covered in there of how I came to be on the canals etc but I’ve never been lonely
LET SATURDAY NIGHT BE GIN
Cheers 😃🏴☠️🥃
I still don’t know what I want to be even though I’ve been retired for eight years. 😂 just kidding!Actually I always wanted to be an artist. I do paint and sketch though not professionally. I just do it for my own pleasure and satisfaction so I guess I fulfilled my dreams. Cheers to you and Bonny.
Fabulous you are doing your dream ❤️
Always watch your vlogs which I thoroughly enjoy. I always have a drink with you albeit a brandy or whisky. Sorry I'm hopeless at ditties. But enjoy listening to you read them. Take care. Love to you and Bonny.
Cheers 🥃🏴☠️
I use to live on a seaboat now I have a bungalow with my frechbull
After a frustrating morning - not helped by dusty roadworks! Taking five and catching up ( relaxing) - with your news❤
Money and small town = not much work wise but did my degree as a mature aged student😊
One recent adventure was a self drive (own car) six week road trip (5,000 kms) SA-VIC - TASMANIA ( 4+ weeks) road trip with my daughter (70+&50+). We had our moments! but mostly it was fun, adventure and special memories Jan Adelaide S.A
Wow that road trip sounds epic ❤️❤️
Hello Heidi, lovely seeing poppy doing so well. Great video, sos not been around❤️
I always wanted to be a writer, maybe even write a book. So far nothing. However it’s a lovely dream. Thank you Heidi and Bonny.
❤️❤️ wonderful, I’ll read it when it’s done 🏴☠️
You've written this comment and it has been published here on RUclips, let this be your first step.
Thanks
Thanks so much Jim 😄
A great vlog Heidi, thankyou xx
Thank you 😊
Crusing down was peaceful to watch, i wanted to be successful and have a family i dont have both but i enjoy exploring and photography.
Loved it!
Wow fabulous ❤️🏴☠️😃
My first hire boat in 2007 was called "Ashby" from the Ashby Boat Company on the Ashby canal and there it is at 07:03. Made my day seeing her again. Although I don't remember it having a side hatch so maybe not the same boat
Aww wonderful … they do renew their boats every so many years
Favourite bit of this video! " split my difference!" Great! Haven't heard that for years! Someone called me a "twazuck" the other day, I took it as a compliment! Should of seen the look on their face when I thanked them 😂 Haven't heard that word in years! 😅
😄😄
@Simon whats a Twazuck ? I'm always looking for new swear words , that sounds like a good un 😂
@@anni50ful an old English slang word really 😆
Im still waitimg to grow up 😂 but while im waiting for that to happen i will raise a cup and glass with you ☕️🥃 stay safe ❤️🌈
Cheers 😂
Never thought I would end up in life becoming a funeral directors business. Life's weird
another great vlog as always would love to see you up in leeds
We passed you on the Ashby. Didn’t like to shout as you were probably busy. Great video ❤
Aww sorry I missed you
I wanted to be a cowboy! I guess many would say I achieved my goals!
Haha brilliant 😃🏴☠️
Upon the tow path Heidi roams,
With Bonnie by her side.
Let the waters flow, unlock the gate,
The Rum Wench has to go!
It's time to shift or we'll be late!
A rum in hand with baited breath,
Comes forth a song of Rum and Death,
A pirates life we know.
Farewell to tortured souls, they are no more!
As love begins anew each day,
for life begins once more.
Hope you like a little poem. ❤ from Arizona. PS always wanted to be a Ten Towner! Riding ponies to school in the Australian outback!
Fab 😄🏴☠️
As a young lad i dreamt about being a hermit, Then i got married and being a hermit became an obsession.
😂😂
Never really had dreams of what to be. Just by luck I was asked to work with a carpenter building a house. Realized what I loved doing was working with my hands so.... Music is my love but I never wanted to do it as a job though we do play gigs. Many with no pay and Contra Dances that pay but can't afford to pay much. Just for fun. First snow has come. Less than an inch. Temps at just a klick or 2 below freezing.
You are happy and loving what you do which is the best 😄🏴☠️❤️
I always wanted to be a pilot, as well. I flew for 20 years before losing my medical due to a late discovered genetic aberration. Then I reinvented myself by buying a campground and hot springs in the Gila National Forest, in SW New Mexico. I ran it for 22 years. Sold it last year and am now officially retired!
Oh wow I bet you have made some amazing memories ❤️ what a fantastic life
I thought that was you on that magical Mad Dog night in the woods so long ago. 😏
😂😂
@@TheNarrowboatPirate
Do the people eat the fish they catch in that water?
Just watching latest episode and was thinking perhaps a small plank to encourage bonny to clear the long wet grass
She can get on and off fine but most of the towpaths are all grass and she hates wet grass 🤣 she needs to get used to it soon as the grass will be wet every day with winter coming
