Hey Guys, This week I built a play set for my kids.
My Brothers Kids out grew there play set, so my brother gave it to my kids. some of the wood was rotten so I decided to build an entire new structure and use some of the parts from the old one, Like the ladder, slide, X&O game, etc.
Please give this video a like and subscribe to my channel. Like always, we will see you in the next video.
That playhouse, workshop, and lot are goals AF!!
Thanks. I worked hard for this. best tip I can give. Don't waste money on college, Pick up a trade and get good at it. also, find what people don't like doing and do it and charge a lot for it. works for me.
Wes, that playhouse is awsome!!! Your kids are very lucky and i guess they are very proud on their cool dad who ca build everyting.
Christofix - DIY Projects thanks, it was a fun project for a saturday
Love your workshop 👌🏼
Thanks!
Reuse and renew is awesome. Love the little helper, I could see she couldn't wait to get on it and play.
Lucas Wood & Art she hasnt stopped playing on it since she woke up this morning. Thanks for watching!
3:23 hahaha he made the slots too big what a sucker
4:40 oh dear lord he's a genius
I’m happy to see there are other people who like building like I do (I’m 16) and I am taking a extracurricular activity on building and when I showed this to my teacher she said she could show it in class as a break. Thanks a lot, not only for the break but you did a really good job on the build.
Thanks a lot. Glad to see someone young is getting into woodworking. It’s is becoming a dying skill.
@@WesHamstra I agree and not only is it a good skill to know it’s as you said in other comments, A fun thing to do on your Saturday. I also have a question because me cousin (who is 9) wants a carved piece of wood to look like a sailboat, but I’m not sure which wood I should use to carve it, have any suggestions?
amazing love to wach your vidioes
Aaron Rodgers built a pretty cool playset
Good job 👍
Great job; any chance i could get the plans please???
Great job!
Good work.
Appeciate!
I built a similar play set for my kids and they and the neighborhood kids used it daily.
Do you have a cut list? Looks great!
I like the notches you made. I was told this was a big no no for 4x4 and only recommended for 6x6 post. How is yours holding up?
So far so good. I have never heard that before. It does make sense when you think about it.
Now you get to cut the grass around it all year 👍😄
yep, and probably for the 10 years to follow. Ive cut grass around it once already, its not that bad. doesn't take long to zip around it on the zero turn.
Nice job dad!
👍🏼
Szép lett 👍🏻👍🏻
His guy loves his kids
Most dads just go buy one quick and be done with it
I love it, but how can I see the measurements and the amount and material you used for it?
Could you please share a list of wood materials?
That was awesome and inspiring.
nice job
Hey Wes, very inspiring video. The playset looks great. Would you please share measurements? I want to try to build same kind for my daughter. Thanks:)
Nice! Any links to the slide or plastic pieces?
Fantastic video! I am in the process of putting together a playhouse right now, and this was the perfect video on how to do it. Thanks!
Nice work Wes! looks like a fun little play set :) Thanks for sharing the video with us.👌👍😎JP
I Enjoy Creating Videos thanks jp!
Your very welcome Wes! Have a wonderful week!😎
Super men,fater👍👍👍👍
Hi Wes thank you for sharing this lovely video which you’ve made a hard job look very easy! You’ve inspired me to replicate your model for my own children in our house in the UK. I was wondering if it was possible for you to list the material used and measurements! A big ask I know but would really appreciate it and I’ll post you my final completed piece. Thank you 🙏🏼 😊
Yep, that's pretty cool!
tonyflynn25 thanks!
hi deffo worth a subscribe there . you done an excellent jobs not sure who was having more fun the liitle girl or you lol .
by the way the timber at the start is that 4 inch you used or 3 inch . it did look more like 4 inch
Kids, dad I want a okay house
Dad , hold my ice t .... Awesome dude very nice 👍👏
How did you anchor it to the ground?
Good job, although I dont know how long that apex on the end will last, hopefully long enough !
Wow you did all that with one battery .I am impressed
Haha. Pretty sure I switched batteries off camera
Really good job, I really want to try something similar. what length were them main pillars, the whole swing set looks like the perfect proportion
Siiiiick!!!
WOW that's awesome 👏! Great work. I hope I can do mine as well as yours.
Просто класс!!!
Omg! That is awesome!!! Great job! Did you have to cement anything in ?
Any chance you made build plans or anything of that nature for this? Would gladly pay for them
From a fellow bench joiners perspective this is fantastic, could I get the measurements and/or technicals for this as if like to copy it like for like! The kids would love it, that’s amazing man well done 👍🏻
I'm thinking about building one for my kids. My wife showed me a big one at Best Buy and I really am not interested I'm paying $1500 for one. I told her even with the material cost the way it is I believe I could build one cheaper than that. I like woodworking I'm just not sure if I could but I would like to give it a shot. I've been anxious to build something lately anyway.
I have 2 slides that need two size landing decks to go down each slide. I need a cut list and supply list and I can do it. :(
Mrs wants me to build one i feel pretty confident that looks tody ....im thinking a little less high due to our youngest of almost 2 being a daredevil lol
That's so awesome! I see one in my future, haha
Robin Lewis thanks, I see on instagram your kid is 1 year already! Time flys
How much does it cost?
😍❤👏👏👏👏🇧🇷
Nice! Glad to see it handed down. 😊
Ron
What type of wood is that ?
Wooow how long did it take you to make it?
Hey Wes, that’s a cracking build buddy & the kids will have many happy times playing there. One question I would like to ask is about your mitre saw station because it seemed you had a drop & then what ?, is your extractor set down somewhat?, really interested as I’m going to build one very soon 🍻👍
Sumo's Projects my dust collector has dust port in the back that sucks the dust. My mitre saw station isn’t complete. When its done i will do a show and tell video
Any estimates of dimensions? Also curious any reason the brace for the swings had a bit of an angle to them? Thanks
download sketchup model. It's all there.
@@ivesence where is it? I can't see 0_0
@@RuskaBeridze I'm sure I saw it but can't find it now. Maybe was some other video that I've seen. The guy's got a blog page with everything on it. I was sure it was this one but I can't find it now. I'll try to find, will let you know
@@RuskaBeridze I'm not sure I can post it here as it's def another video. Any email I can send it to you?
@@ivesence oh, I'd love to. That's so kind of you! please send to ruska.beridze@gmail.com. Thanks a lot!
This playground looks pretty awesome and design is quite affordable DIY! I saw many comments asking for measurements but I could not find if you shared it somewhere. At least some rough sketches?
Also, what are the bolts you used with hammering into the wood nut? Where can I get it in Canada? Would appreciate the info, with all COVID lockdowns we just have no choice but build our own playgrounds :/
www.jacksfurnitureplans.com/
$1.95 for his playground plans. I'm in the middle of building his playground set now and the plans are perfect and nearly free. A little bigger (so more expensive) than this but it's a great build and only a couple tricky parts. I spent around $600 in lumber but got all the accessories for free but taking down an old beat up set for someone.
@@kennethl5886 Can I ask you a question, please? I just bought this plan. Will it be sent to my paypal email? Or how will I get it? Thanks a lot in advance.
@@RuskaBeridze he will email it to you. May take a day or 2 as I’m not sure that he checks his email every day. But it was in my inbox pretty quickly.
@@kennethl5886 Thanks a lot for a reply. I'll wait patiently then:)
where can i find plans for this ?
What kind of wood did you use? and What kind of T-nuts and bolts did you use?
Hi, would you have a rough estimate on how many materials you used? Im thinking of building my kids the same swing set. Thanks!
Great, awsome way to asamble the platform with the posts... and leaving some spare space for the decking...
Wondering how many days did u spend building it?
Where can I find full plans how to build it myself? I wanna surprise my kids :-)
Érdeklődni szeretnék a méretet felől.
Did you just have it sitting on the ground?
Yep.
Can someone explain to me how to secure the parts that touch the soil. Do I dig holes and set ot in concrete???
I think it should sit on concrete footers with brackets and bolts otherwise the wood will rot
@@jacobcantleberry7201 Thank you
Platform height? A few basic measurements would have went far in this.
"it's not cracking...". You'd better install that hot tub for her soon!! 😂😂😂
Wordsnwood (Art Mulder) shhhhh.... im glad my wife doesnt watch my videos. Or read the comments.
@@WesHamstra happy to cause "trouble" ...
any tips or plans on this one?
Do you remember about how much the build cost you
Can you give a ballpark cost total?
I saw in another comment $500 for lumber. We're building a swingset twice this size and the lumber for all the ground contact pressure treated wood is about $250-$300(home Depot). A box of 25 4" bolts is about $35. Accessories are about $20 each. I got a pack of monkey bars on Amazon for about $20, a pack of 10 rock wall plastic climbing rocks on Amazon for $20. Grab bars were $7 on Amazon. A swingset tarp on Amazon was about $30. We got swings and one slide free from a neighbor and bought a 7 foot tube slide used for $200. Way cheaper than swingset stores charge. Most seem to want at least $1,000 for a set that might have cost $200-$300 to make.
Dude, nice work!! It looks awesome bro. Love that it’s recycled reused man. How much if any $ did you have to put in? Or was it all recycled?
GuiltyMalice I only spent $500 in wood. I managed to re use all the hardware, nuts and bolts, slide, ladder, etc
Wes Hamstra not bad. Well worth it, it looks great. Thanks for sharing.
What would you say the cost for this was on the end of the project ?
I apologize if Im overlooking it but is there a place to download the sketch or dimensions?
isn`t it supposed to be anchored?
Don’t have the tools...
Great, awsome way to asamble the platform with the posts... and leaving some spare space for the decking...

Thanks. I built it in one day

Honestly $1500 is a good deal. Once you start adding up the cost of the slide, swings, all the hardware you will be paying more. At least in Canada where I live.
