In 1964 I was 8 years old and the original S & G song was good. This rendition is another level. The tone and resonance is so touching. It grabs your heart strings and plays with them throughout the song. For a rock group this is the best cover by far. I will definitely buy their album.

If truth be told, the only way this song could be made manifest was to be sung with anger. Those are not pretty words. Listen, they are outrage. Draiman's voice is utterly compelling, haunting, symphonic, replete with humanity. (Only the best sound system could do it justice really.) I am mesmerized by Draiman's voice. It is magnetic. irresistibly beautiful.
Dan Vasc is incredible, his rendition of Amazing Grace and some other songs are it for me, but, I have to give this song to Disturbed as its the best ive ever heard. Id waited 40 years to hear Vasc sing Amazing Grace the way i knew it could be sung, but it seems i was waiting as long for Disturbed's rendition of The Sound of Silence and didn't know it! If truth be told, the only way this song could be made manifest was to be sung with anger. Those are not pretty words. Listen, they are outrage. Draiman's voice is utterly compelling, haunting, symphonic, replete with humanity. (Only the best sound system could do it justice really.) I am mesmerized by Draiman's voice. It is magnetic. irresistibly beautiful.

Id waited 40 years to hear Vasc sing Amazing Grace the way i knew it could be sung, but it seems i was waiting as long for Disturbed's rendition of The Sound of Silence and didn't know it!
