After struggling to loose weight and manage my chronic pain my entire life I actually came to the hard realization that I simply do not process carbohydrates very well. I went low carb, then keto. That helped me lose 25 pounds but I was still dealing with pain. I then went grain free and sugar free and wow my life was open to a new world of healing. I lowered my carbs even more and raised my protein and fat up and I was able to lose an additional 25 pounds. At 48 I’m finally the smallest I have ever been. Lowered my A1C from a 5.7 to a 4.8 and off 6 meds. I will forever be eating high protein, grain free and very low carb. Food is medicine.
I soooo need to do low carb. I feel “stuck” and I’m having a hard time getting motivated. Any additional info is greatly appreciated such as typical meals in a day, carb goal, etc. I get burned out on eggs really fast 💨

Bobbie i love you! Don't ever worry about people juding you. I was once 185 pounds in my early 20's. I think you are so beautiful, inside and out. I wish I looked like you without my makeup. You're gorgious both ways. Thankyou so much. You are naturally pretty.
You are an extremely brave woman and I appreciate your candor. Thank you for your honesty. You, and your personality are a few reasons why we are ardent followers. You are loved.
You are awesome!!!! I love everything about your videos. And just like you, I always think people are thinking something about me when I do what I do. But I think you are so right when you said, they are not thinking about you at all... they are thinking about them and how they look and what we are thinking. I just love your content.
Hi Bobbie. When the directions say to sort the rice it’s just referring to separating it into a bowl to remove the debris and foreign materials. The act of rinsing might be a hack you’ve developed but it is an important routine to keep up with. Rice naturally has a heavy metal content (brown rice especially) from arsenic which is naturally present in the bedrock and is absorbed by rice through the soil or irrigation water. I hope this is helpful. 😊
Best wishes Bobbie. My uncle made a joke at his birthday party: "When I was 20, I worried about what everyone thought of me, when I was 40 I didn't care what they thought and now I'm 60 I realise nobody was thinking anything about me at all" 😂.
Sorting the rice means you are looking for any small pebbles or other things that might end up in the rice. My husband’s family import basmati rice. You can also soak the rice after you clean and sort it. I like the rice when it’s been soaked for a few hours. You soak and then throw out that water.
I’ve always understood that “sort” direction as to pick out anything that isn’t rice- could be small stone or rice stalk, etc. I do that with barley and any other grain, as well.
I see absolutely nothing wrong with you sharing your HRT experience with others. It helps those who may have the same. I love my HRT patch because it has helped my symptoms tremendously! Hey Bobbie, I find it really helps to put placemats (even from Dollar Tree) on refrigerator shelves. It helps with essy clean up, just take them out and wash them off. A lot easier than clening spills on glass.
Have you heard of the trick to refrigerate cooked rice, pasta or potatoes? When rice is cooled, some of its digestible starches turn into resistant starches, which aren't broken down in the small intestine. This process lowers the GI of the rice
I appreciate you sharing your health updates as I’m sure we can all relate and I find it helpful. I went through something similar a few years ago, I’m 62 now, and it was a little scary but turned out to be nothing, thank the lord. I do the same thing when I’m walking, I always think people are judging me for my weight. We are our own worst critics as I would never think that of someone else. Love that you and your videos are real! ❤
Oh ABSOLUTELY! You go Bobbi. I am so proud for you and your commitment to exercise and cycling all the miles and trails you go on. I recently-finally! (after about 5 years, have lost my perimenopause/menopause weight gain of about 40 pounds), but I am not exercising regularly. This is next on my list because I know it is so important for longevity. I am 57, so I have got to get going. You keep going! 💕🇨🇱💕
I went through the same thing as you did when I was on the estrogen patch. It turned out to be fibroids but they were small and she said they were okay. I didn't want to keep dealing with the bleeding, so I stopped the estrogen. My hot flashes aren't bad, so I figured it wasn't doing much more for me. I also recently cleaned my fridge (take out drawers and taking the fronts off of them 😓. Painful but very necessary!!!
I use to have a refrigerator like this and the glass did come out. I popped it up from underneath, it took a spill for me to figure it out so hopefully yours will pop up
The spotting is bc of the patch and pill. I did the same thing. It’s so normal w HRT. You can cut a little off of your patch (decrease the dose) to find the best dose for you. I do that now. I can also play w my progesterone dose by either taking 100mg or 200 mg per night. It takes a little while to find the right combo.
I take progesterone for 2 weeks then off for 2 weeks. I follow Dr Gersch on RUclips. I’m also on estrogen and testosterone trying to lose 10-15 lbs. I’ve done keto, Omad , intermittent fasting, I lift heavy and walk 10 k 4-5 a week nothing has moved the needle. I’m super disappointed so it’s really. frustrating. Don’t know if it’s because I’m small and I don’t need to lose a lot of weight for the reason why I’m stuck. Determined to figure it out. Keep at it.
I sometimes use my water pik around my kitchen sink to squirt out the gunk I cannot see. Works pretty well, and it doesn't hurt the pik because it is just squirting water, which is what it is supposed to do.
Carnivore 10 months in. Down 35 lbs. no effort. No counting, no starches and no sugars. Easy peasy. Trust me, never going back. And I am 74 in Dec. and feel like I am in my 50’s again. Healing inflammation and having my hormones balanced made all the difference.
Hello. I do not sort rice. I think, in the olden days, I remember my Mom actually sorting rice and lentils which sometimes had small pebbles or dirt mixed in. I do not see that these days and I eat lots of lentils. Enjoy!
I just lost all food & things in freezer from Hurricane Milton. So I cleaned my refrigerator & freezer too. 😢 But once you pull out the refrigerator you can pull out all the drawers. Love your videos and your telling your story ❣️
Oh no! I am so sorry! I am glad that is all you lost, but I am sure the cost to replace everything is immense! Yes, we did pull out the refrigerator and we were able to get all the bins out! It's sooo much better now. Thank you!
🌺Yes, you can remove that long glass shelf and take out the glass. The center divider with your water filter will also lift out for cleaning & other shelves can adjust. I have a similar fridge and it’s not difficult but a bit detailed so you don’t break the glass. One good video on the process on RUclips channel: “Dad Does It All.” I found him by searching, “How to remove Samsung refrigerator shelf.” You can also find out how to adjust &/or remove your other shelves s as well. I think your stain may come out with The Pink Stuff or a Soft Scrub type of cleaner. I also found a great shelf liner from Amazon that is clear & makes it so easy to wipe off the shelving & you can cut it to fit perfectly. Hope this helps! Blessings from Virginia❤️
No judgement on the coffee. I LOVE my morning coffee. I did get away from sweetener, but it was gradual. First, I used real sugar for awhile since I figured the chemicals were not so good for me. Then, I gradually stopped using sugar. I also now use a good half of a cup of almond milk - frothed. The key, at least for me, is the frothed milk - yum!! And, I do use a sweetener packet now and again when I order a coffee and it tastes like a fun treat. So, just my way of doing coffee. But, again, the frother is FABULOUS and my morning coffee is a must - it makes me so happy. 😊
Thank you for sharing all the parts of your life! Your refrigerator looks great! I have been wanting to clean mine, but I have been putting it off. You have motivated me to just get it done!
I always understood sorting to be a process of rinsing thoroughly to remove excess starch and making sure there's no random husk fragments, stones, or other debris in the rice.
Ok, I'll look it up on RUclips. We have tried sooo many times and we were never successful. You aren't the only one that says it is possible. Thanks Veronica!
There's no judging here! I have Irish Breakfast Tea, which is pretty dark after brewing 4-5 minutes, in a decent size mug, with 1 packet of Truvia and probably at least 6 tablespoons of half and half, and it's glorious!
We did pull out the refrigerator so we were able to clean it. The top shelves are what we aren't able to get out. I keep hearing that it is possible and that someone made a RUclips video about it. I am going to find that and hopefully we can get it out.
The reason we want to eat less carbs is to stabilize our blood sugar which in turn lowering and stabilizing our insulin. Most of us eating a standard american diet are soaking in insulin. I HIGHLY recommend wearing a continuous glucose monitor to learn how foods impact your blood sugar. I recently got a Stelo subscription (new direct-to-consumer CGM) and it's been super helpful. For example... xylitol gum is a 20-30 point increase. One flour tortilla increased my blood sugar 60! More women should try Stelo--it's one of the best things I'm doing for my health.
When I was a kid (a very long time ago), my mother would sort through rice because it sometimes had tiny rocks in the rice. I don’t know if that’s what the directions refer to but it’s has been a huge pile of years since I’ve seen a rock in a bag of rice.
Your refrigerator looks great! Thank you for sharing about your health. I appreciate your transparency. I think it’s helpful for women to know other women are going through things too,so they don’t feel alone. Hope all goes well with your ultrasound. God bless.
Oh my gosh! We have the same fridge & I HATE cleaning it but you have motivated me to do it this weekend. It’s annoying how you can’t get it clean like older refrigerators. I don’t see the link to your grain free granola. Am I missing it? Thank You!
Thank you for sharing I was all ears and I loooove your calmness it's so important to keep calm and not freak out before we know exactly what's going on. Thank you again for sharing. As women we can learn from eachother for sure. I'm sure your fine. ❤️
Pull the fridge out into the room……that’s what I have to do too! C,earning the fridge is right up there with cleaning toilets…..I really need to do mine. In the fall of 2019, at 56 years, I had bleeding and a gush of fluid comparable to your water breaking when having a baby. My NP said it was likely due to switching/starting HRT. After some tests that was unfortunately not the case and I was diagnosed with stage 1A endometrial cancer. I had a total hysterectomy in January 2020. The oncologist told me that if a woman has to get cancer this is the one you want because caught in early stages it’s curable by surgery. The majority of the time the breakthrough bleeding is nothing to worry about but it shouldn’t be ignored and should always be checked by a doctor.”
sort = check for small stones (which are sometimes (rarely) mixed in with the rice). Risk crunching on a small pebble otherwise. Again, rare, but it happens.
I think "sort" during the rice rinsing process means to pick out stones or non rice items that may have gotten into the rice during the harvesting process.
I had the same issue with hrt. After a few ultrasounds and biopsies, I decided it wasn't worth the worry and quit. My uterine lining had thickened, and that's when they worry about things going wrong. Almost 2 years later, I'm still taking a pill for 10 days a month that causes the lining to shed. What fun! 😏
Spotting when you’re getting your HRT levels correct is pretty normal. But great to get things checked out! LOVE that you are so honest about things women historically haven’t talked about…which is why most women don’t know anything about menopause! OMG….We have that same refrigerator and I didn’t know the drawer had a liner…going in there tomorrow! Ewww I’m scared! and yes I hate that stupid wire thing too…boo! Getting rid of that tomorrow too…THANKS!
We were just in Jim Thorpe this weekend for the fall train ride and I've done the bike ride, it's so pretty. Also, thanks for sharing- this is what helps women along! Also, what foundation are you wearing in the car talking about the dr visit? it looks so natural and pretty !
I swear I have the exact same fridge as you! I hate that wire thingy in the middle drawer! So pointless! Thanks Bobby, which you all the best and good health. FYI, I’m having surgery tomorrow - lens replacement and I’m sooo nervous. I am also conservative about doctors and treatments, but I want bionic super sight! Pray for me 😂🙏🏻❤
I wish I could do the other sweeteners. They all give me bad stomach cramps and headaches. Weird that won’t come out. I had a similar fridge and I could remove that entire thing. Then it would break down from there.
I appreciate the real pieces of life that you share as it may help another woman. Nothing beats the satisfaction of a clean fridge/ freezer. Unremovable shelves would drive me 🤪. Friend of mine used a steam cleaner then sealed it up with some kind of plastic guard.
I’m fairly thin and I’m so out of shape, people may think I can do more than I can. I’ve seen many women that are in good shape that are not my size. You go girl ❤
Some Bazmati has husks in and you have to pick them out. Mostly however I use wholegrain rice, plus I got myself a lovely little Rice Cooker, it is so easy. 😊😊
I just love you! I have the same problem with my frig. I have a single door, not french doors and the door hits the cabinet in my teeny tiny kitchen. I also don't understand why they make refrigerators that you can't clean. I am assuming you tried toothpicks-my new favorite tool :)
Hi Bobbie! Love your channel ❤Your fridge looks great. About your glass shelves...can you push them up and out by pushing up on the glass from underneath?Mine looks similar to yours & I can remove the glass itself by pushing it up from underneath...and it kind of pops up out of the metal/plastic frame that is holding it in place. Just a thought 😊
Noone is thinking about you we are all in our own head...and we all worry about what other people think. tell yourself yes! I'm doing this 25 mile bike ride. Great video!
I just love you. I am glad someone talks about what they experience with HRT.. I find it very helpful . I have been on Estradiol patch for a few years now and also a progesterone pill which I take at bedtime with Magnesium gluconate. when I started Estradiol patch they started me on the higher dosage and it was too much and I started spotting. told the doctor I didn't want to go back to having a period. It was too much estrogen. cut the dosage back and all is well. couldn't live without my HRT. as for the refig. I have cleaned houses for 46 years and have cleaned a lot of frigs. they are not fun. you did a good job.
Thank you for sharing your HRT journey. It does help to hear what others are doing. Interestingly, she increased my Estradiol last year because I was still getting hot flashes. It's been fine until she changed it this last time. Hopefully I will have answers soon.
I love how real you are. I get tired of perfect homes, hauls where people spend HUGE amounts of $$, etc. Thank you so much for sharing real life! Yes we can benefit by your experiences and positive attitude. 🙂

For example... xylitol gum is a 20-30 point increase. One flour tortilla increased my blood sugar 60! More women should try Stelo--it's one of the best things I'm doing for my health.
If you remove the door shelves, could you get that bib out?
Do you have one of those small steam cleaners? Wondering if that would work on your fridge?
Those shelves come out I’m sure. There are difficult to remove but should come out. Love your video thank you for sharing
Can you pull the fridge out?
When I was a kid (a very long time ago), my mother would sort through rice because it sometimes had tiny rocks in the rice. I don’t know if that’s what the directions refer to but it’s has been a huge pile of years since I’ve seen a rock in a bag of rice.
can you remove the side trays inside the fridge? mine are removable by pushing up on them.
Your refrigerator looks great! Thank you for sharing about your health. I appreciate your transparency. I think it’s helpful for women to know other women are going through things too,so they don’t feel alone. Hope all goes well with your ultrasound. God bless.
I agree, it helps to hear when someone has gone through or is going through what you are dealing with. I'll keep sharing!
Oh my gosh! We have the same fridge & I HATE cleaning it but you have motivated me to do it this weekend. It’s annoying how you can’t get it clean like older refrigerators. I don’t see the link to your grain free granola. Am I missing it? Thank You!
It's there...it's linked right at the end of this video.
Thank you for sharing I was all ears and I loooove your calmness it's so important to keep calm and not freak out before we know exactly what's going on. Thank you again for sharing.
As women we can learn from eachother for sure. I'm sure your fine. ❤️
Thank you Maria!
I believe that sorting rice means looking for small stones, broken grains and other debris while rinsing.
Can you not pull the fridge forward to remove thebins for cleaning\
Bobbie, have you tried a hand held steam cleaner? Works well for impossible to get at places including window tracks, just thought is mention it
sort = check for small stones (which are sometimes (rarely) mixed in with the rice). Risk crunching on a small pebble otherwise. Again, rare, but it happens.
I think sharing your health stuff is ok. I find it very helpful. No one teaches us these things. Good luck and I wish you the best.
sort rice like you would a bag of beans. There may be rocks mixed in with rice since it is grown and picked from ground.
Hey Bobbie! I would love your recipe for the granola!
Me too!
Your skin looks amazing!
I think "sort" during the rice rinsing process means to pick out stones or non rice items that may have gotten into the rice during the harvesting process.
That is what others have been telling me. I'll keep looking even though I really never see anything!
I was waiting for your GRANOLA recipe..Love to try it! Thanks 😊 your so down to earth
Love kettle and fire broth. P.S. have you tried monkfruit in your coffee? I also make my home made lemonade with monkfruit. 💕
I have tried it, but sadly I don't like it. Stevia is working for me now. I do like cooking with monkfruit though!
Yay, that ride is so fun and beautiful! Oh boy...I have no clue what I was wearing, sorry!
I don't have a steam cleaner, but I may borrow a friends!!
I have that same exact refrigerator and I pull my shelves out and wash them. Are you sure yours don’t come out?
I’m fairly thin and I’m so out of shape, people may think I can do more than I can. I’ve seen many women that are in good shape that are not my size. You go girl ❤
Some Bazmati has husks in and you have to pick them out. Mostly however I use wholegrain rice, plus I got myself a lovely little Rice Cooker, it is so easy. 😊😊
I've been considering getting a rice cooker! My son has one and he loves it! Thanks Cindy!
I just love you! I have the same problem with my frig. I have a single door, not french doors and the door hits the cabinet in my teeny tiny kitchen. I also don't understand why they make refrigerators that you can't clean. I am assuming you tried toothpicks-my new favorite tool :)
I think sorting is like you always do with dry beans just to make sure there's no sand or little stones in there.
Rice is not a pure carb, it is an incomplete protein when combined with beans it becomes a complete protein.
I can't find the link for the granola you mentioned 😊
Nope! I have tried and my hubby tried! UGH!
@MindfulMidlife Well that's a big bummer! But you still did a beautiful job!
Buy a steamer cleaner with a nozzle it shoots hot water all over and cleans it so well...
You have the same fridge we have, can your Huddy remove that awful divider thing in our drawer too 😅😅
He had to take apart the entire drawer, but he did get it out!!!
Noone is thinking about you we are all in our own head...and we all worry about what other people think. tell yourself yes! I'm doing this 25 mile bike ride. Great video!
Yup, I'm working on getting out of my own head! Thanks Carrie!
Fantastic video, great information, thank you for sharing…
God bless🇨🇦💜🇨🇦
I had to have 3 d&c in my later 50s an early 60s really no big deal❤
