After struggling to loose weight and manage my chronic pain my entire life I actually came to the hard realization that I simply do not process carbohydrates very well. I went low carb, then keto. That helped me lose 25 pounds but I was still dealing with pain. I then went grain free and sugar free and wow my life was open to a new world of healing. I lowered my carbs even more and raised my protein and fat up and I was able to lose an additional 25 pounds. At 48 I’m finally the smallest I have ever been. Lowered my A1C from a 5.7 to a 4.8 and off 6 meds. I will forever be eating high protein, grain free and very low carb. Food is medicine.

I soooo need to do low carb. I feel “stuck” and I’m having a hard time getting motivated. Any additional info is greatly appreciated such as typical meals in a day, carb goal, etc. I get burned out on eggs really fast 💨

      @@lovinglife439 carnivore diet.

    • @chrissyforanimals
      @chrissyforanimals День назад +2

@@Kidges keep it simple. Just make protein the focus of your meal and then have some low carb vegetables or fruits as a side, a very small side. Focusing on foods with only one ingredient. Like a large burger patty for lunch and a few pickles on the side. For dinner salmon or steak and a few berries on the side. I personally love making protein bowls for breakfast. Scrambled eggs with sausage and bacon bits topped with salsa and avocado slices. The key is to keep carbs low, very low. For me it was less than 10 grams a day. Fill up on protein and fat and you will not be missing the carbs.

Sorting the rice means you are looking for any small pebbles or other things that might end up in the rice. My husband’s family import basmati rice. You can also soak the rice after you clean and sort it. I like the rice when it’s been soaked for a few hours. You soak and then throw out that water.

Hi Bobbie. When the directions say to sort the rice it’s just referring to separating it into a bowl to remove the debris and foreign materials. The act of rinsing might be a hack you’ve developed but it is an important routine to keep up with. Rice naturally has a heavy metal content (brown rice especially) from arsenic which is naturally present in the bedrock and is absorbed by rice through the soil or irrigation water. I hope this is helpful. 😊

Have you heard of the trick to refrigerate cooked rice, pasta or potatoes? When rice is cooled, some of its digestible starches turn into resistant starches, which aren't broken down in the small intestine. This process lowers the GI of the rice

The spotting is bc of the patch and pill. I did the same thing. It’s so normal w HRT. You can cut a little off of your patch (decrease the dose) to find the best dose for you. I do that now. I can also play w my progesterone dose by either taking 100mg or 200 mg per night. It takes a little while to find the right combo.

PLEASE talk about reproductive organs. I am so sick of "women's cancer" meaning only breast cancer. First, it's not only women who get it¹. Second, women born female are the only ones who get vaginal, cervical, uterine/endometrial, fallopian, or ovarian cancer, and NO ONE talks about it.
I am so grateful that my mother and her mother both had endometrial cancer (and survived it), so I was aware of it, and knew that the bleeding was an issue. I made an appointment for the next day, got an ultrasound, and was in an oncologist's office two days later.
I had caught endometrial cancer early. I had a full hysterectomy with bilateral salpingal oopherectomy, and that was it. I was "cured by surgery". That was two ½ years ago, and my final appointment is tomorrow.
This is something women need to know!
¹ My husband had to have a lumpectomy. 5% of breast cancer cases are in males.

🌺Yes, you can remove that long glass shelf and take out the glass. The center divider with your water filter will also lift out for cleaning & other shelves can adjust. I have a similar fridge and it’s not difficult but a bit detailed so you don’t break the glass. One good video on the process on RUclips channel: “Dad Does It All.” I found him by searching, “How to remove Samsung refrigerator shelf.” You can also find out how to adjust &/or remove your other shelves s as well. I think your stain may come out with The Pink Stuff or a Soft Scrub type of cleaner. I also found a great shelf liner from Amazon that is clear & makes it so easy to wipe off the shelving & you can cut it to fit perfectly. Hope this helps! Blessings from Virginia❤️

I’m only halfway through this video and had to come on here. I too am post menopausal and changed my HRT a couple months ago. I removed my Mirena IUD because…post menopausal….which I’m 49 I presumed my uterus was dead right? Wrong!!! I started BLEEDING a month later. I was 😳😳😳😳. Called my Doc…went in….got another Mirena IUD and what do you know….week later bleeding stopped and I was back to normal. CRAZY!! Now, everyone is different and it could have indeed been something awry but thankfully it was just the change in hormones that threw me outta whack. So glad it got corrected. I’d had three IUD’s with no menses for 15yrs because of it so to bleed and bleed heavily I was so distraught and frustrated. PSA….just because you’re post menopausal does not mean your uterus is shriveled up and dead. 😂😂

In the fall of 2019, at 56 years, I had bleeding and a gush of fluid comparable to your water breaking when having a baby. My NP said it was likely due to switching/starting HRT. After some tests that was unfortunately not the case and I was diagnosed with stage 1A endometrial cancer. I had a total hysterectomy in January 2020. The oncologist told me that if a woman has to get cancer this is the one you want because caught in early stages it’s curable by surgery. The majority of the time the breakthrough bleeding is nothing to worry about but it shouldn’t be ignored and should always be checked by a doctor.”

I think "sort" during the rice rinsing process means to pick out stones or non rice items that may have gotten into the rice during the harvesting process.

That is what others have been telling me. I'll keep looking even though I really never see anything!

I think sorting is like you always do with dry beans just to make sure there's no sand or little stones in there.

I just love you. I am glad someone talks about what they experience with HRT.. I find it very helpful . I have been on Estradiol patch for a few years now and also a progesterone pill which I take at bedtime with Magnesium gluconate. when I started Estradiol patch they started me on the higher dosage and it was too much and I started spotting. told the doctor I didn't want to go back to having a period. It was too much estrogen. cut the dosage back and all is well. couldn't live without my HRT. as for the refig. I have cleaned houses for 46 years and have cleaned a lot of frigs. they are not fun. you did a good job.

Thank you for sharing your HRT journey. It does help to hear what others are doing. Interestingly, she increased my Estradiol last year because I was still getting hot flashes. It's been fine until she changed it this last time. Hopefully I will have answers soon.

Some Bazmati has husks in and you have to pick them out. Mostly however I use wholegrain rice, plus I got myself a lovely little Rice Cooker, it is so easy. 😊😊

I swear I have the exact same fridge as you! I hate that wire thingy in the middle drawer! So pointless! Thanks Bobby, which you all the best and good health. FYI, I’m having surgery tomorrow - lens replacement and I’m sooo nervous. I am also conservative about doctors and treatments, but I want bionic super sight! Pray for me 😂🙏🏻❤

I think if you move your frig all the way out and then turn it on an angle, you should be able to get your door open enough to pull out the drawer. Might need to unhook your water/ice dispenser. Also, I couldn't figure out how to remove some of our shelves, so I found a YouTuvbe video. Success! Good luck!

HELLO!! Praying for You and Your Health Journey! Tip… I have to say… I love cream but wow… that is a lot (lol)… You might want to try using some good organic (no fillers added) Heavy Whipping Cream instead of the Half & Half… It doesn’t spike your insulin and it’s so much more creamy that you need far less of it. GOD Bless You Bobbie!!!

The reason we want to eat less carbs is to stabilize our blood sugar which in turn lowering and stabilizing our insulin. Most of us eating a standard american diet are soaking in insulin. I HIGHLY recommend wearing a continuous glucose monitor to learn how foods impact your blood sugar. I recently got a Stelo subscription (new direct-to-consumer CGM) and it's been super helpful. For example... xylitol gum is a 20-30 point increase. One flour tortilla increased my blood sugar 60! More women should try Stelo--it's one of the best things I'm doing for my health.

oh wow, she is kind of going overboard on the spotting. It is totally normal to spot after HRT the first even 6 months. My gyno told me it is all normal side effect. And if the sonogram is fine then why would you go back for a biopsy if spotting? If your uterus lining is thin than you would not need a biopsy. My gyno did have a sonogram done, but only because I was kind of freaked out about it and requested it. It was fine, but yeah still had the spotting since my body was adjusting to the hormone. IDK, but it stinks you would have to get a biopsy if you spot after having the sonogram.

Hi Bobbie, I`ve had an experience with my HRT. I had unexpected spotting last year went for an ultra sound all ok. This year I was trying out testosterone as well as Progesterone tablet & oestrogen gel. I had severe breast pain that anti inflammatory meds wouldn`t stop and also spotting again. I went to GP had to stop the HRT had the ultra sound and saw the consultant straight after. A polyp was found, I went a week later for the hysteroscopy and polyp removal and biopsy. She said all looked good, the removal went well and I am still waiting for the biopsy results. Have to wait for results before I decide on resuming HRT. No more spotting or breast pain. If all is good I may opt for the Progesterone and Oestrogen gel and give the testosterone a miss. I guess all us ladies are so different as to what helps us and doesn`t. As you say Bobbie.. we need to look after ourselves and don`t put these visits to the GP off. Take care x
