I’m listening to this and crying so hard. I got divorced and was forced to move islands. I was with my ex for over 30 years and I had to leave the island I was born & raised on. I’m living in a place that has nothing. Had to start from scratch. We had no toilet for over 2 months, no electricity and we were freezing. I had to leave my family and “civilization.” It’s been hard but our faith got us through. We are getting there, almost ready to be able to have visitors. Still need a fridge but, soon. After a lifetime of living comfortably to camping, yet, we are happier than we have ever been. We have learned to appreciate all of God’s generous blessings!
I miss my mom & son & bff so much that I cry so much inside. I’m planning to have my bff visit because we don’t have transportation and we need to shop for food so she will drive me to shop & stock up. I’m looking forward to seeing her. It’s been over 3 months since I’ve seen her. Can’t wait!
I pray that all who are missing loved ones get to see them and talk to them.

Wow Steve’s your dad? I had the honor to meet him and he taught me a few things on the guitar. 👌🏽 He still sung the same. He was at a care home I used to work at.

My father passed a few years ago. This song was chosen for the funeral slideshow of his life. While my family are not native Hawaiians ourselves, the islands were integral part of our lives, in fact my aunt is Hawaiian. Everytime I hear this song I can feel the trade winds blow across my face and for a moment I feel closer to my Dad. I love this song.
