initially when you are going to get the data from the source (if 6k rows), it is going to take a snapshot of the data at that given time and then load the data into the power bi in-memory (all 6k rows will come into the power bi). after you create the report with 6k rows..and if there are any changes happening at the source side (like truncating the data to 1k rows)..the power bi will still show all the 6k rows..since its loaded into the memory..when you perform a REFRESH at the power bi desktop level or the power query level, then it going to again establish the connection to the on-premises data source and get the data..and this time u will be seeing only 1k rows in the report.. answer is, initially you will get all the 6k rows..and even if we truncate the table to 1k rows, still the power bi report will show 6k rows only..once you click on the refresh button, then it will show the 1k rows...
he was asking the storage space and not the model or the dataset size.. the maximum model or the dataset size for pro or free license is going to be 1gb and for ppu license, it is going to be 100gb and for premium capacity license it is going to be 400gb if you are talking about the storage space allocation for the workspace level, then for pro license , we will have 10gb and for ppu and premium capacity we will have 100tb
Your video's are really helpful. Can you please also make the video on migrating power bi report from one environment to other. Changing connectistion strings in power bi (DEv --> UAT--> Prod databases.) Version controlling in power bi. Handling multiple landuages in power bi. deployment in power bi report using CI CD pipelines.
can you tell more about que 4 why relationship may break if constraint are applied. i have tried and it wont break in my case. then when it may be break?
In my last interview I have not cleared that round because of my communication skills and i cleared the technical round. They I have work on my slang.I speak good English but my slang is not good to talk to US client as I get the feedback.
today in exl cmpy power bi dev role interview question i got this power bi question can u pls mention in ur video if I give you 1000gb data base & I have to use all tables & cols for my dashboard report what will be ur approach ?
My approach will be to use DirectQuery mode to import data into Power Query and then Power Pivot. It is because PowerPivot has dataset size limitation of 1 GB for pro user and 10 GB for premium user and so we cannot use import mode because it will bring all the data and metadata into the model. By using Direct Query, only meta data will be loaded into power query and I will do all the required ETL activities and load the data into power pivot, establish relationships, write dax according to the client requirements and then create reports and dashboards. When the client opens the dashboard, the data will be loaded directly from the database instead of the PowerPivot. DirectQuery mode removes dataset size limitations and can handle huge volumes of data. Please correct me if I am wrong. I am also learning power BI.
