Penn Jillette was a perfect frontman for the Residents, it's great to see him come out in front of what many might consider a very intricate and self-absorbed performance, and explain the backstory in a minute or less, opening it up to everybody right off the bat. I wonder if the motel anecdote (3:21) is all true, "I hated it... it was very foreign to me, and after a week of being in that room, I began to like it..." Hahaha, I love it!
I put a pen drawing of the Residents stood behind a mole in my art exam display at school. The teacher didn't rate it but I did. I wish I'd seen the Mole Show but I got the pic disc & Intermission.
Been a big fan since childhood and this is still one of my favourite videos of em. I have the 'Eyes Scream' documentary on VHS. Great stuff - You see how playful and inquisitive they can be! So much emotion in their actions, even behind masks!
the ralph records 30th anniversary recording was pretty surreal. he went from indifferent to loathing to being their self-rpoclaimed number one fan haha
Penn: "I am allowed pretty much a personal opinion..."
*green eye shaking his head no*

Some of the best art to ever grace this earth
Penn Jillette seems to be involved in every counterculture thing
The shoulder pat is GOLD.
Penn looks and sounds so young in this video.
I know, he’s a baby!

Glad I got to see them few times 1st was this Moleshow 80" I think it was, last time was wormwood shows 99"😢
I love how he just talks about it as the band members just observe random objects silently
amazing unique music/cabaret in surreal mode at its best, reminiscent of different eras and with dark undercurrents of mystery.
It was '83/'84. Saw them at The Hollywood Palladium. "Everybody in the whole cell block... were dancing to The Jailhouse Rock".
"Are any of them gay?" Yes, behind the eyeball masks they're the Village People.
The song @the beginning is "the new hyme " and the year was 1982. I caught the mole show in LA on Halloween nite.

Hundred of years ahead of their time.

Quite unique.

Big mouth ..they should write a song about Penn !
Stupid questions. It's been well known since the mid 80s (at least) that they never were a foursome.
This is from the early 80s
