Not sure if anyone gives a damn but if you guys are bored like me during the covid times you can watch all the latest movies and series on InstaFlixxer. I've been streaming with my brother for the last weeks xD
Glad I'm not the only one who absolutely loves this. Some truly heartfelt music in one of the most intimate settings I've ever seen. Thanks so much for helping a 22 year old dude in South Florida get to experience this. 💜💜
Roll on through Sante Fe And make a new beginning What's that you were starting to say? Or have you forgotten? 'Cause the unlit moon would rather hide And be replaced by the mystery of the stars 'Cause in your room we gather To be replaced by the mystery of the heart Pull on your new blue coat Try to remember the words you once wrote The canyons that catch in your throat The fault lines that carry and cradle the river 'Cause the unlit moon would rather hide Replaced by the mystery of the stars 'Cause in your room we gather To be replaced by the mystery of the heart (Go on now) Because the unlit moon would rather hide Be replaced by the mystery of the stars Because in your room we gather To be replaced by the mystery of the heart To be replaced by the mystery
Beautiful as always. The wind blowing through the open windows makes this more surreal than the already otherworldly song would have alone, which is saying something. Long Live
Ok. There are 3 or 4 Big Thief songs I really like. This song is the one I spent a lot of time trying to understand. Like my ecdev prof used to say, 'before you start with the big theories, look at a map'.(he talked like Apu on the Simpsons) Santa Fe in New Mexico is the oldest state capital in the US, originally part of Mexico. The Rio Grande river passes by Santa Fe. Starts in Colorado, thru New Mexico, then Chihuahua province in Mexico, then along the Mexico Texas border. The song blends the personal, maybe the experiences of a border crosser, with an appreciation of nature, and a hopefull view of US politics ("try to remember the words you once wrote"). The chorus was tough to figure, I think it is about being human and having hope? Los Lobos "The Valley" might be a good companion piece. Just an interpretation, don't get mad.
@@joelalexander928 Yeah sorry I had read your 1st name as "Jason" and didn't respond, because how do you respond to "George" (Seinfeld TV series). I can take care of myself, more or less, but I remember what George did to Bubble Boy. Anyways, I didn't know when I wrote the original comment, but the "Great Replacement" is actually a conspiracy theory advanced by white supremacists in the US. Pushing the fear of changes as the relative size of the 'white' population shrinks. I think Adriane ___ may have had that in mind. I also remember Buck Meek saying that the band couldn't help being political, I think in the context of writing this album. There is an video on RUclips where a _____ Pape, on Amanpour & Friends, talks about a study he did on the Capitol Hill rioters and that they seemed to be driven in part by a fear of the Great Replacement,
Protect this band at all costs.
from what?
I say they are protecting us.
@@pokefrosch617 So true.

@Gunnar David Definitely, I've been using InstaFlixxer for years myself =)
There are just not enough videos of Big Thief playing acoustic music in cornfields.
I’ve never read a more accurate statement.
DITTO! ; )'
I love James' high note at 4:08
the way adrianne smiles at him afterwards :)

Wax on, wax off Max!
Love when Bucks sings on these tracks. It should happen more often.
Mike Zarro a little late, but have you heard Buck‘s and Adrianne‘s solo effort? Plenty of duetting there 🔥
i just feel so awake listening to this
3 years later and I'm still watching this video. Can't wait to see them in NYC in March '23!
